I found Affordable Auto Repair through google reviews. My truck (03 dodge ram 1500 quad cab) had a horrible noise coming from the vehicles drivetrain. I thought the problem was the rear differential. I ended getting to Affordable and was expecting to pay a lot of money for a job like this. Let me start off by saying that Neil, the owner, is a very knowledgeable guy. I know a lot about cars, but Neil is an expert in the automobile industry, which really sets him apart. He gave me several options and explained the diagnostics involved in determining the cause. Long story short, the problem was not the differential on the vehicle, but the u-joint. The job was very reasonably priced and well worth every penny knowing Neil had his hands on it. The job was completed from one day to the next. Neil even suggested small things to look out for in my vehicle in the near future. I would recommend Neil to anyone looking for an honest mechanic in south florida. He works on any type of vehicle and I assure you that he will get the job done right the first time. Thank you Neil for your professionalism..... you have a customer for life !

I am in town for a few weeks and my check engine light came on. My engine has caused me problems for a few months, and my home mechanic tried several times to fix it. I was dreading the idea of taking it to a mechanic in a city I barely know, but I read good reviews for Affordable Auto Repair and gave it a shot. Neil was amazing. He listened to me as I explained the noises my engine was making, talked me through the engine diagnostic process, and then showed me the inside of my engine and the coil and spark plug that needed to be replaced. He did all of this for me in about an hour, and then took the time to explain to me some potential future problems that could occur in my exhaust system due to the previous engine problem. When I drove in my engine sounded like it was ready to fall out of my car, and now it is running smoothly. I thought this repair was going to cost several hundred dollars, but it ended up costing me less than $150. I have never had a better experience with a mechanic.

People say that there is no such thing as an "honest mechanic", but these people have never met Neil from Affordable Auto Repair. I was having issues with my car not starting. I went to a chain location, starts with "Tire" ends with "dom"; and after 4 hours and 3 mechanics they just told me "I dont know whats wrong with it". I looked up affordable auto repair and after reading their reviews I had to call them and speak with Neil. I explained to Neil what was wrong, and what I thought it could be. He assured me he would be able to pin-point exactly what was wrong. I dropped off my car the next day, and by the end of the day my car was up and running. Neil is very professional and very transparent of the work he does on your car. He does not just tell you "what" needs to be done, but explains the "why" behind it as well. Also, the cost of labor he charges beats any dealer and major/minor chain that I personally looked up. Thank you Neil! Ill see you soon for routine maintenance.

It is a rare experience that one can find a straight shooting mechanic nowadays. Since Ive been working in this area, Ive brought all three of my vehicles to Neil for service and or repairs along with recommending him to my coworkers and peers. The first time I brought my Explorer to Neil, I relayed to him that the previous time I had it in for an oil change, the service advisor (of one of these nationwide tire / service chains) advised that I needed rear brakes urgently. After assessing the brakes, Neil relayed that there was plenty of meat left on the pads and not to spend the money just yet, that we would keep an eye on them. I was able to get two more years out of these brakes thanks to Neil and his honesty. I would highly recommend Neil and Affordable Auto to anyone who is looking for a trustworthy mechanic who performs excellent work that he willingly stands behind.

Neil is a great mechanic and has always been honest with my repairs. I was initially told that I needed a new part that costs over $700 by another mechanic. When I tried my luck and Googled "Affordable auto repairs" I was blessed to actually find Neils company. He almost immediately told me that the previous mechanic was wrong when I told him the issue over the phone. Its amazing how knowledgeable he is very passionate about making sure that people seeking auto repairs are not ripped off. Low and behold, when he looked at the vehicle, he was 100% on the money about what was REALLY wrong w/ my car and I was charged small a fraction of what the first mechanic quoted me, saving over $600. Lynn is very pleasant and has great customer service skills. Affordable Auto is GREAT!

Neil is the absolute best. He cares for your car as if it is his own. Being new to the Miami area there are certain things you definitely need and an honest, thorough and fair priced car care specialist/expert is at the top of the list. I found that in Neil and Affordable Car Care. He will not perform unnecessary repair work. He performs a detailed analysis of your car and provides a thorough explanation of the problem and the work required to resolve it along with the estimated cost. I called Neil today for the first time based on the reviews here. Even though he was busy and short one mechanic, he took my call about my 1962 mercedes. He took the time to help diagnose her problem over the telephone. He even went online to make sure he would be able to find the parts needed. I could tell that he is extremely knowledgeable and professional. You just dont get that type of personal service in Miami today. I should know. I was born here. Right out of the gate, I was impressed.

THEY ARE THIEVES !! I went in for a loose radiator hose that did not need nor was it replaced to put the hose back on and re fill with coolant they wanted me to pay $219.30 ! I was never contacted as requested with an estimate and when I told them to drain the radiator that I would have it towed else where they lowered it to still $140.00 FOR A LOOSE HOSE!!! THERE IS NOTHING AFFORDABLE ABOUT THIS PLACE AND THERE WAY OF BUISNESS MAKES THEM VERY SHADY AT BEST!
