Man, I dont even know where to start with this review! I wanted to start MMA in 2009 after watching some ufc events. I searched online for MMA schools in Miami. I passed by a couple and my last stop was FFA. As soon as I walked in the door I was treated like family. I signed up right that moment. That was in early April 2009. I started in the same class that every student does, the beginner course. I remember being so nervous that very first class because I was 110% sure I was gonna get my butt kicked! That didnt happen at all. When you first start they partner you up with someone who has around the same experience as you do just to make sure that everything is equal and not one sided. I was hooked after that first class! About a month later I was invited into the Combat Athlete Program (CAP) and I was 37 pounds lighter than when I started! Once I took my first CAP class it became like and addiction! The reason for that is because once you start the CAP program each class focuses on a certain martial art. Boxing, kick boxing, wrestling, Judo and my personal favorite, BJJ. The beginners class was awesome, but since youre new you have to take in all the information little by little. Once youre in CAP you get to spend a full 90 minutes focusing on whatever skill you want. CAP is where you REALLY get to sharpen your skills. Fast forward a few months to January 2010 and I got into a horrible car accident that completely ruined my leg. The crazy thing is that the first thing I asked the doctor wasnt about what had happened, it was asking when I would be able to train again! A year later I was finally able to get back to the gym and I was welcomed with open arms and had coaches pull me aside just to show me different ways that I can do certain techniques that wouldnt harm my leg. A few months later I was given my blue belt by Master Marcos and Master David. Truly one of the best feelings Ive ever had. The only thing that I can say tops the feeling I had that day was my son being born and getting married. When my son was born I took months off because it was my first child and I was getting used to being a parent. Every couple of weeks Master Marcos (head coach) would email me asking how my family was and asking when I would be able to get back to training. Those emails really meant a lot because Master Marcos is a VERY busy man. For him to take take time out of his busy life just to check on a student is one of the many reasons why FFA is better than the rest. When I returned to the gym I was given a very warm welcome back by all the coaches. It felt like I had never taken the time off. The point is, Its not about a bunch guys trying to beat each other up to prove whos tougher in the gym, its about training with people who will help you succeed in anyway they can. FFA is my family and it always will be! Theres no way theres another gym out there that cares about their students as much as the instructors at FFA do. And for sure theres no other gym thats open 24/7 and has instructors that have travelled all over the world just to be able to learn the best techniques to teach their students. I hope this review helps. You have nothing to lose by trying it out because theres a 30 day money back guarantee. I didnt even care about the guarantee because as soon as I stepped foot in FFA I knew that is where I would have the best experience so I signed a contract that very day!

Cassidy Pepin
My name is Cassidy Pepin and I just wanted to leave this quick review in hopes that you find it useful. I have been training at the Freestyle Fighting Academy (FFA) since 2007 and I would highly recommend this gym to anyone. Let me explain why… First off, the gym is amazing! From the owners, to the coaches and the administrative staff, the professionalism and guest services they provide are second to none. If you’re an aspiring fighter – or even a pro or amateur fighter – this gym is for you! FFA’s fight team is one of the most well-known and successful fight teams in mixed martial arts and submission grappling. The brotherhood I have experienced is unbreakable. I’ve seen these guys push themselves and each other to their fullest potential. Now, if you are someone like me who isn’t competing and just want a place to train and stay in shape, or if you want to get in shape and learn how to fight, then guess what… this is the gym for you! FFA has an amazing coaching staff. You will be learning from some world-class grappling champions and undefeated professional fighters. Don’t let this intimidate you though; these coaches are as friendly and respectful as the sweetest grandmother you know. If you are also like me with a crazy work schedule – or just a busy person in general – do not let this be your excuse to not sign up. FFA is the only mixed martial arts gym I know of that is open 24 hours. 24 hours! The first class of the day starts at 6:00 AM and the last class ends at 1:30 AM. This has been perfect for me. I am in the weight room from 4:00 AM – 5:30 AM and then attend the 6:00 AM class (that I love!) Do you live in Broward? FFA has a second school located in Weston. Now you have no excuse! So, why are you still reading this review?? You need to call or walk right in and say Cassidy, from Coach Che’s 6:00 AM class sent you and they’ll sign you right up.

I toyed with the idea of training mixed martial arts for a while. After doing my research I was lucky to have found the Freestyle fighting academy. My first day I could barely make it through the warm up due to me being completely out of shape. The negative thoughts quickly haunted me "Im holding the class back, Im going to be the laughing stock of the class" but before I was even able to continue to drive myself down. I was quickly brought back up by first coach Tulio, who quickly encouraged me to push myself and to know I will become better and better by the minute. After my first class I was hooked! This gym has a family feel to it! There was not a single moment where I didnt enjoy a great workout and learning techniques from world class trainers and fighters! This is a gym where there are NO EGOS AT ALL!! The best part about this gym is the fact that its 24/7. Due to my busy schedule I would find myself getting a training session in at 2-3am on a Saturday night. The freestyle fighting academy has to be one of the most complete gyms I have found to this day. With Mma for kids being trained by black belts, Or womens only bootcamps ran by world class athletes! It doesnt get any better than the freestyle fighting academy! This gym not only has helped me physically but as a business owner they have really installed a WINNERS mindset, which has lead me to success in different aspects of my life. I am forever grateful to have build such strong friendships thanks to the Avellan brothers and the family at freestyle fighting academy!
