* Edit: so of course they are trying to put all of this on the customer. They wrote a response that is mostly false, which is no surprise since I did not expect them to take any responsibility. Then I learned that they tried charging my card DOUBLE my quote BEFORE THE MOVE EVEN HAPPENED! USER BEWARE! Whatever you do, do not use this company! They will charge you over twice what they quote and will damage your items. Here is a list of ALL the furniture in the apartment: 1 king bedroom (typical panel bed)… NO DRESSER, NO CHEST, NO NIGHTSTANDS; a small plant stand; a sofa; 2 small accent chairs; 2 coffee tables; 1 flat entertainment center; 1 small metal desk (the cheap kind, like for $100); 1 computer chair; 2 small 2 drawer filing cabinets; 2 barstools. THAT IS IT! 20-30 boxes, 3 small tvs (all under 32in), and 7 pictures. A super small amount to move because I had sold off a ton of stuff before the move. Easily would fit into a regular small U-haul truck with room to spare. My quote was for $450, which included the travel time. The movers arrived and decided to use the stairs and not the elevator. At one point during the move one of the movers lifted up my entertainment center to wrap it and I noticed a screw fell out and one of the legs was hanging (since it was now only partly screwed in). Disclosure: the last movers damaged the leg at issue, but it was an easy fix and it was a leg located under the entertainment center in a place that couldn’t be seen and the damage did not affect the functionality). When I saw the leg hanging, I immediately pointed it out and asked for minute to screw the screw back in the leg would be in place. Me and a mover got a screwdriver and started to fix it. At one point we stopped (before the screw was screwed in). Later when they started to lift the entertainment center to move it, I asked for another moment to finish screwing the leg in. They sat it back down and one of the guys walked off. I asked the other to turn the entertainment center some so I could get to the screw. Instead, he it stands it up on its smallest side! The weight of being stood on its small side was too much and the entire side literally collapses from the weight and breaks! The fact that the entertainment center is broken means they now have even LESS furniture to move! I do have to say that the guy really wanted to try to fix it, but like I told him, it was so severely broken that anything done to fix it would just be temporary because of how serious the damage was. Guess how long they took to move a 1 ½ bedroom apartment: 7.75 hours!!! And no, they didn’t pack me; everything was packed and ready to go. That is how long they took to move a ready apartment (and to move to an apartment on the first floor, so no extra time needed for stairs. Guess how much they charged: $1078. Yes, you read that right. They quoted me $450-500 with travel time and yet the final bill was LITERALLY OVER TWICE THAT! Oh and I checked my quote and it looks like the bulk was accounted for when I called. Even if the bulk wasn’t accounted for, I have moved multiple time and have never ever had a move that was over $575, and that was with an entire extra bedroom, a garage, dressers, dining tables, etc. My point is, this was the smallest move I have ever made yet cost double any other move. I was so angry at the end that I didn’t even tip. I felt really bad because I had a $100 in cash to tip, but there was no way I was tipping once they charged my card almost $1100 for a 1 ½ bedroom apartment move. BTW, the 2 apartments are 15 minutes apart, so this was not a matter of having a move with a long travel distance between. This morning I got up and began to unpack. What did I discover? They ripped/cut my computer chair and they lost a piece of my accent chair. It is clear that something really sharp ripped/cut my chair because there is a 2-3 inch straight cut through part of the seat. Then I go to move my accent chair and notice part of the leg is missing (a small piece that fits onto the bottom of the leg)!

I have never written a negative review before because I work in customer service and I know how things can go. But this company is so terrible I have to warn people!! We mistakenly trusted a verbal phone conversations and used them to move and store our 2 bed condo. This has been one of the worst moving company Ive ever dealt with. First I spoke w/Rebecca in the front office who has no idea about anything, every question I asked her, she had to place me on hold to ask someone else the answer, what should have been a 2 min conversation lasted for almost 20 mins. They charged us over $1,800 for a 2 bed condo move and talked us into using their storage units, PLEASE be advised this is a HOT warehouse that is NOT CLIMATE CONTROLLED meaning no AC, just humidity control, even though I specifically asked if it was temperature controlled and he said yes we have ac/temperature control. Of course the company will deny saying that after having my belongings in there. I should have done my research on them because knowing this I could have used a cheaper public storage that is temperature controlled. (I found a public storage that is $200 less monthly with AC where my items are now.) They store your belongings into small crates in a hot warehouse. EACH time you want to access your belongings/crates you have to make an appt and pay an access fee of over $340 or the amount you pay monthly in addition to your monthly charge, (which they conveniently stated nothing about when convincing you to use their storage.) The actual movers were good, but the front office and Jason are terrible with no knowledge of anything. He especially has no costumer service. After we finally got our belongings out of storage and saw how much damage the company & the heat had caused to our furniture, (furniture had mildew and stains everywhere, they were useless to us) one of J&J-metro employees asked to keep the furniture so we left it there. Then Jason the "VP" had to audacity to call and accuse us of leaving the furniture at the facility before speaking to his employees. WORST MOVING COMPANY!!! They pride themselves on being a family owned company that has been in business nearly 50 years blah blah....Its BS, they pride themselves on be scammers. DO NOT USE THEM!!! Its apparent that J&J metro have written all of theyre 5 star reviews themselves. As you stated in all your review responses you record your phone calls. I hope you listen to my conservation with Rebecca and train her correctly, what a waste of time and money!

WARNING: Bait and Switch scammers. We mistakenly trusted a verbal phone quote for a reasonable price. The phone quote was in fact a purposely vague and rambling statement of unit costs per hour that my trusting spouse reasonably interpreted as a firm bottom line. They never provide a written quote or list of services to be included even at the time of loading. Once they took possession of the property they hit us with a bill for three times the original proposal. They then informed us that the revised quote was only for the pick-up and storage. We would have to pay again to have the items delivered. Now five times the original quote and more than the actual value of the items in storage. They then resorted immediately to the threat to keep our home furnishing until they were paid in cash. We are working people and will be seriously hurt by having stepped into this trap. Their behavior is exactly in line with the behavior of the worst characters in the moving industry. Also, they have loaded this and other Review sections with fake five star reviews. Additionally, after writing this initial review, I was verbally cussed-out, over the phone, by the Jason who is the Owners son. Sweater-vest notwithstanding, he will cuss you out if you challenge his logic. Find another mover.
