Do not use this company without a firm estimate before the arrival of the serviceman. They state a minimum $ 49.99 arrival charge if you cancel upon the servicemans visit and evaluation. As I was a remote landlord and needed quick service for a renter, I filled in the online form at 8pm, got no reply, called the advertised number and the answering service said they would reply upon office opening at 8am. I then had to call again to insure a visit. Was given a 12-2pm window and the renter was steamed to have to wait around on their holiday. The serviceman was very difficult to understand because of his poor English skills and he stated a $ 780.00 charge for repair/replacement of parts and expansion tank. I stated that I could get a complete new water heater from Home depot installed for a 40gal water heater for that price. He replied that he was not Home depot! I asked for minimum charge to repair and was given $ 450.00 charge for repair only , no expansion tank. I agreed as I was losing my entire rental revenue because of an unhappy renter now and needed quick service to recoup with another renter. The invoice was sent almost a week later and the parts only came to $ 12.82 with the rest being labor. Upon comparisons of charges from similar plumbing charges according to Angies List, I was definitely overcharged and ripped off. Needless to say I will never use this company again and dont recommend that you do either. **************************************************** Upon subsequent communication by the owner- Bart, I had a nice discussion that I was indeed overcharged and the serviceman was counseled. I did not ask but was offered and accepted a charge back to my credit card. This company did take the extra step to make good ! Thus, I am revising my rating to three stars.

There is nothing more stressful than hosting guests for an extended stay and your toilets refuse to flush. Perhaps there is one thing; calling a plumber, having him spend three hours in your house and nothing gets resolved except a chunk removed from your bank account. Thats what happened to us. We called a local plumber, he spent a lot of time explaining things, thinking and chatting... and in the end snaked one third of the house unsure if he even accomplished anything. He blamed the septic system, had me call out those people to drain it, which did not require it. Two days later the same problem occurs. My wife called Roto-Rooter of Sarasota who guaranteed a set price, even if they had to yank a toilet and replace it. This included camera check of the entire system and cleaning it all out if required. It sounded too good to be true. Jim the tech arrives and the first words out of his mouth are Im not leaving till we find and fix your problem. Bear in mind, were on a set price, they dont make more money. I am immediately put at ease. Jim is both professional and understanding. He was knowledgeable on septic as well, and proceeded to verify that was not full and thus not the problem. 3 hours, 120 feet of roto-rootering, removing and replacing the toilet and uncovering the septic later, Jim resolves the issue. What others failed to do, or simply were trying to increase the amount of money their company received, Jim did with a smile on his face. Did I mention it was a weekend no less? Roto-Rooter of Sarasota will always be my plumber. I will accept no substitute. Integrity matters and these folks have it in spades. Jim, youre a saint.

Rotorooter was called to fix my pipes backing up. The Rotorooter tech steps out of his vehicle and notes my issue is with my leeching fields. He later quotes the job at $1,800.00. This is well before he had entered the house and he was only 5 steps from his truck. I am not sure how you can diagnose a problem before looking into it. Performed a drain snake and camera work. Notes stated water was still sitting in the drain 10 from the septic. If the problem was fixed, why are my pipes holding water? 2 days later, my house was backed up again. Called my plumber in to discuss the leeching fields, he said there is absolutely no issue with them as the septic is not holding water and it was draining properly. He was able to tell this by popping the septic cover. Plumber snakes my drain and finds 15 ft or k-60 snake line left in my drain. this is a 1 inch metal coil used to unclog drains. Contact rotorooter inform them of the issue and they do not issue a refund and refuse to take responsibility for the fact that 1) 15 ft coil was in our drains (which was not there 1 month prior when I had the job done previously). 2) The job I paid them for didnt flush out the fact that the 15 ft coil was there if it was pre-existing. It take a very negative experience for me to write a review like this, but I feel people need to know about the poor handling of this situation and the refusal for a refund. Bottom line is they were paid to solve the issue, and it was not permanently fixed. It couldnt have been with a 15 ft coil remaining in my drainage.

Took 3 visits in a span of approximately 8-9 hours to finally resolve our issue (main drain clog). First technician elects to start from the roof instead of popping the toilet explaining that it is less messy but for our case it wasnt effective. Less than an hour after he leaves the issues remain. We call back. A second technician runs a camera in the line (which should have been done the first time) and wants to pop the toilet but not until the next morning because he had a personal matter to attend to (it was late in the day) and he wanted to teach the first tech a lesson by having him return to finish the job. Understandable, we all have lives, but thats not helping our drain. The second tech was apologetic and professional so we went along but again, after he left, without further use of any appliances, etc., our issues actually got worse with backing up in the shower, sinks and a toilet we cant flush. We simply could not wait anymore so we call the after hours line and get an on-call tech (yes, a third!) who comes out and finishes the job near 10pm. Absolute pro. (You know who you are, sir, thank you!) Job cost 15-20% more than the average job quoted to me on the service call. All three technicians we nice, professional people. Unfortunate that it took 3 visits to solve our problem. My rating is an average of the three visits. Will I use Roto-Rooter again? Perhaps. We know of another local professional from a previous job. I will likely consult him first and compare with RRs prices.

Called them because my main drain line was clogged the guy that came wanted to do a camera inspection when all we wanted was for it to be snaked through the vent on the roof. He charged us 255 dollars to put the camera in saw the clog and quotes us 1800 to do a jetting with high pressure when I said we dont have that kind of money he said then theres nothing he can do. Obviously he works on commission scam artist. He left us with the plumbing still clogged. Talked to a friend he recommended a real plumber who came snaked it from the roof unclogged it for only 125 dollars and was done in 15 minutes dont use roto rooter get a real plumber these roto rooter guys wanna rip you off for there commission figuring your on vacation and your desperate.
