The Worst 3+ hours My wife and I recently set out to look at some Mid range cars to get an idea on which ones we would like and an idea of price. Of course not having been to a car dealer in over 12 years, we didnt expect what was to come. Our main objective was to see three different makes, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, and Kia Optima. Our first stop (and last) was at Alan Jay Toyota. From the onset I thought I made it clear (several times) that we were only looking, getting prices, and NOT buying. Our 12 year old Grand Caravan van has been running fine, but getting up in miles (91K). We mentioned to the sales person that we wanted to look at the three different makes and they offered to bring the two other makes over to the Toyota dealer. Well that was a mistake! The Kia Optima they showed us and let me drive was a 2015 used model that had a weird smell. Of course the Camry were looking at was a much nicer car and the sales person kept comparing the Camry to the used Kia Optima. The second was a new Nissan Altima which struck my interest, but of course the sales person kept comparing the Camry to the Altima and pretty much was putting down the Altima. By the way, the car ran out of gas on our test drive. Never did we get any positive information on the two alternate cars as we would have had we had gone to the other two dealerships. As I mentioned, we told the sales person many times that we were only looking. I guess he didnt hear a word I said, because he took all of my information, including my social security number. It was then that I know we were in trouble. He came to us with a lease offer and I also asked for a buy offer which he went back some where to figure it out for 10 minutes. He came back with that and again we told him we only wanted pricing information. He even wanted me to sign a credit request which I refused. He kept asking if we liked the Camry we were looking out and was really pushing for us to buy it now. We kept refusing his offers and then the Wizard came out from behind the curtain. The manager came out with an offer. It was we werent allowed to leave until we bought a car. Talk about HIGH pressure! We rejected several more offers and told the manager that our daughter worked for a Toyota company and that we could buy one through the Toyota Family plan. All we wanted to do was run the numbers past our daughter. Of course he came back with a sheet with a lower price. This was as I mentioned 3+ hours of hell. I asked the manager if I could take the paperwork with me to compare prices with my daughter and he said NO, it was his paperwork and only a verbal commitment for us. At that I said "Were out of here". We never did get to see in detail the three cars we wanted, and felt like we were not going to be allowed to leave until we bought their car. As a result, I will not go back to an Alan Jay dealer4ship. I rate their service on a 1 to 10, a minus 10.

Gary Mooney was not listed on this site to rate. As good as Gary is, you should add him immediately. A Great salesperson.(period) He was so good I brought my son back 2 days later and he bought a truck also. If I didnt trust Gary I would have never brought my son in. I have taught sales for many years and I enjoy a good sales presentation. I also enjoy buying and not being sold (well at least not feel like I am being sold). Gary listened to me, then made recommendations, then showed me how for the same money I was willing to spend I could get a brand new truck. He made it happen. His customer service skills were his high point. He made sure everything was perfect for my delivery and my sons also. When I brought my son in, he had talked with us beforehand, determined what we wanted, had a list of vehicles available and even had one brought down from another Alan Jay dealership up the road that he felt was the best value that met our needs. We agreed and my son drove away in that vehicle. Gary is the only person I look forward to seeing when I buy another car. I would recommend him to anyone that has ever had a bad experience at a car dealership in the past.

I took my 2015 GMC to get the oil changed after that I started noticing oil puddles every morning when I looked underneath you could see the oil filter was leaking apparently not tightened properly in the oil is black my truck has 17,000 miles on it The service manager said he would take care of it and theres no way the oil should be that black after 30 miles they came and got me and told me it was a defective oil filter it wasnt their fault they replaced it As far as my oil being black after 30 miles they said thats the way diesel motors or After having it on the lift when they were done I looked underneath they never cleaned off the oil off my frame transmission or driveshaft underneath my new $70,000 truck nor would they drain the oil out and replace because of how black it was I dont believe my oil was ever changed I told him I didnt want them touching my truck again Im taking it somewhere to make sure oil has been changed I would never take my vehicle for service again to Alan J

Easiest car buying experience ever! Thanks to Rob Rose (our salesman), Mark Faye(manager), and Mark Secore (finance) for helping my daughter purchase her first car. We shopped online but werent sure what price range was within her budget. After talking with Rob about our options, we felt comfortable giving her financial information via phone in order to secure approval. We live in Orlando and didnt want to take the 2 hour trip if she couldnt get approved. Because of Alan Jays mass inventory options, we were confident we would find something she loved within the price she needed. We are very thankful to Rob and Mark Faye for working so hard to get her the car she wanted at the price she needed and to Mark Secore for securing a good loan for her! The free 3 month/3,000 mile warranty on her used car purchase is a huge bonus! Felt no pressure, all information given to us was accurate, and we will be a returning customer!

While visiting family on vacation in bowling green, my 2006 cts started hesitating, sputtering & making a clanking noise. My families retired mechanic diagnosed the issue as being a bad timing belt. After researching & finding out thats a common issue averaging $2600 in repaire costs, I about flipped out. I contacted the Alan Jay dealership, not only did they imediately correctly diagnose the issue as minor with a minimal repair cost, they treated me with the highest possible level of professionalism & courtesy. If I lived in the area, Alan Jay would have a loyal repeat customer for life. Next time around - I may travel the 1000 miles just for the exceptional service.
