I have lived here almost 6 years. Oakhurst Plaza Auto Service says it is the friendly neighborhood auto services. Never have I really been happy with them on different things we have had done. But, we kept going back because I could walk home from their location. Last Thursday, I had 2 tires put on the front of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I came to pick them up they gave me my tire pressure sensor and said it was broken, and whom ever worked on it last was to blame. When I got home my husband said that Oakhurst Plaza Auto Service repaired a puncture in the tire two or three months ago. We always took the Jeep there because of their convenient location. When I went back to get them to fix it. The old lady was on the phone talking nasty and cursing out who ever she was talking to. When I approached her I was very nice and apologized for taking me an hour to return with the damaged sensor. She was very rude to me and would not listen to what I was attempting to tell her, that her mechanic said whoever was the last person that worked on it was to blame. Then she went out to get the VIN (vehicle identification number) off my car. I asked if they had put my old tires in my truck, but I did not want the one that was bad. Then she called out the guy with the ponytail to come and take out the bad tire. He was pissed off and started to scream at me that they did not want my business anymore. He was cursing at me screaming F___ you, his eyes were bulging out of his head and his neck veins were popping out. He continued to scream vulgar nasty curse words at me, then he threw something at me. When I got home I called the police and told them that I felt violated and endangered and that he should be arrested for assault. The Pinellas County Sheriff Deputy went to Oakhurst Plaza Auto Service location to interview the employees and they lied and they said that nothing had happened. When the Deputy asked if he could see their surveillance camera data they informed the Deputy that they do not have any security cameras. The Deputy informed me that there was nothing I could do and if I returned to their location I would be charged with trespassing. So here I am on social media to warn you they are in fact not your friendly neighborhood Auto shop. They are in fact evil nasty people from the top to the bottom. I am amazed how quickly they would blame someone else for their misgivings and sacrifice a customer for a tire pressure sensor. Let’s face it if they can’t properly install a tire and not take responsibility to replace a part that they broke I certainly would not entrust them to repair an engine.

I have been going to Oakhurst Auto on and off for years now and dont plan on going anywhere else anytime soon. My Mom has also taken her last couple cars to them as well and has no complaints. I now live 45 minutes away, but still go for all of my oil changes and any other routine maintenance. When I had purchased a used vehicle from a local car dealership a few years back, I took it to Oakhurst Auto to have it checked out, and they found over $2,000 worth of work it needed. Thankfully I did this, and then I made the dealership cover these costs as part of the purchase. Even after that, I took my car back to the dealership for oil changes as they kept sending me coupons in the mail, but after a couple times, they kept quoting me all of this additional work that I "needed" every time I went there, which didnt need to be done at all. That is all it took for me to go back to Oakhurst Auto and never return to that car dealership. They will never tell you that you need something, unless you actually need it. I trust them with my car completely and I truly appreciate their honesty. Sue is always nice and will treat you with respect. Rob, who has been there for many years as a mechanic, is amazing too! They are easy to work with and I feel confident in their work. I would much rather give my business and support the locals, rather than the aggressive sales people at these car dealerships, who only care about how much money they make off of you. Thank you Oakhurst Auto for all that you do, it does not go unnoticed!

We went to another garage for an oil change, they told us the truck was running rough cause we needed spark plugs which is about $350. Decided to get a 2nd opinon brought it to Oakhurst Auto, they though it was a fuel pumpkwhich would have been about $600) not the spark plugs. They had us leave the truck for testing, turnd out the fuel pump is just fine. And asked what type of gas we use, which is 7-11, circle k. They suggested to use only mobile, bp or non ethonal gas. So we have been for 2 weeks and what a difference it has made.... They saved me hundreds of dollars!!! I will only bring my car to them now, so nice to see there are still honest family run businesses....

Originally my parents took their cars to Sue and Bill back in the early 80s when they retired to Florida. Since then, I take my car to Sue and Bill and have NEVER had anything less than the best, most honest, and most efficient service. Ive referred my friends and they too agree that if Sue and Bill say something is so, it is so. Bill has forgotten more about automotive mechanics than most people learn in a life time having been a design engineer at some of the big firms like GM, Ford..... which most folks arent aware of. BEST PLACE TO KEEP YOUR CAR HAPPY!!!

Oakhurst Auto is a great place to take your car. My daughter had an old Mercedes and you can imagine how many times it was in the shop. Rob has been there forever... and has always been great. The lady at the counter does not mess around. She seems very stern but when you talk to her she gets to the point and is very funny! Bev., the Mercedes died a slow painful death and they were great about it. They let us keep it there while we found someone to buy her for parts.

Horrible break job! I took my car here to get a routine break job. When I left I noticed that my breaks were making a squeaking noise. After bringing my car back three times the best diagnosis I got was that "break dust" was causing the squeaking and I needed to "break harder" to get it to go away. Its been about 6 months now and my car now sounds like a transit bus. Im now going to take my car somewhere else. I would not recommend going here.

Had an emergency tire situation and Im from out of town so they could have really screwed me. However, These guys really stepped up, found my odd tire size at another place and when that place could not fit me into their schedule, they did the work themslves chargibg me a more than fair price. Honest, knowledgeable and incedibky help. Give these people your business.

Very honest and up front people. They tell you what you need to have repaired and they dont try to sell you things you dont need. Sue and Rob are wonderful. Its a family business and makes their customers feel apart of the family. They have worked on 2 out of the 4 cars Ive owned. I will never use any other mechanic.
