Had to fire my dry cleaner today (after a decade!). The lady who ran it was super nice and a total joy to be around. She retired a few months ago and it seems her nephew took over. Since then they took away the candy jar that she always left out (a rather inexpensive and inviting thing to do), stopped rounding down the bill (which was only ever a very slight adjustment, but also appreciated as a nice thing to do for top customers), then today saying they would no longer accept American Express (an unbelievable move in this zip code). After rolling my eyes about the change of credit card payment options, I simply took my bag of dirty laundry off the counter when I left. I just wasnt willing to wait around for the next thing and couldnt shake the feeling that the vibe had gone. Its quite likely that the change in payment options was the new owner trying to increase his revenue and margins after losses stemming from their previous adjustments. Its sad to part ways after a decade. But by comparison, if you are a restaurant with a famous soup recipe, you dont change the recipe - not unless you are willing to sacrifice those who are loyal to it in favor of what you believe will be a larger, more faithful following. Bold move...or just plain ignorant of the market? In either case, it was clearly time for me to move on and wish them the best in their pivot to a new persona for their business.

Ive been going here for over 8 years and the service is great. Joe recently took over operations after his aunt went back to Korea. Theyre very friendly and Ive never had a problem with anything theyve done.
