My car broke down and I had it towed to Diversified Automotive in Athens, GA on a Saturday night because they worked on my Volvo before and Ive nothing but positive transactions with them. I l left my key in the drop box with a note and followed up with Jimmy, the main desk clerk, Monday morning @ 8 am when they opened. They told me I would receive a call later that morning. I never heard from them. I called them that afternoon to check the status and all I was told was that it was "next" in line and that I would receive a call before they closed at 6 pm. I had to call them @ 5:55 pm that day to try to get another "status" update and they told me that they may or may not have time to get to it. I waited around for most of Tuesday and never heard from them. I placed another call and got the run around. I was told that my car would be assessed in the order in which they came and that I would receive a call soon. When I asked when? They never gave me any specifics. So, finally Tuesday evening I gave them another call and I was told it was being pulled in the shop to be assessed and that I would receive a call first thing Wednesday morning. I finally received a call on Wednesday and I was told what was "wrong" with it and how much it would cost. I told them to take care of it and I was told it would be ready that afternoon. I never heard back from them on Wednesday. I called Thursday morning to check on the status of my car and I was told I had to speak to Jimmy about the status of my car but he was out of the building. I finally receive a call at 2:50 pm on Thursday telling me that the initial diagnosis of the car wasnt the cause of my problems, but it was something entirely different and that my car wasnt operational anymore. I asked them what was wrong and they told me and I told them that I would get it off the lot. So, I finally called them the following Monday to tell them that a wrecker could get the car off the property. I spoke with Jimmy and he dropped a bomb shell that time & money was invested in my car and that I owed them money! He didnt communicate or relay any of this information to me Thursday when he told me my car died. I informed him that the only reason I told him to fix the car was being based on a diagnosis that he gave me and that it wasnt my fault that the car was misdiagnosed. He then informed me that he would have to talk it over with the tech that worked on the car and that it would "late in the afternoon" before I would receive a call to assess whats "fair" and what could be done. My car has been on the lot for a little over a week and all I got was poor communication, poor service, and the run-around. I have taken different cars to different places over the years and Ive never ever received such poor customer service. This has been truly the worst experience Ive ever had with a mechanic business. I urge you to please never go to this place. This place is truly awful.

Four stars because I havent had any actual done there yet - will update when I do. I had a really nice experience with this group. I totaled my new car and had an old Subaru beater towed in from my yard to see if they could get it up and running. They did the diagnostic and gave me an honest assessment that the car wasnt worth it. They also offered to check out at any new used cars that might catch my interest and let me keep the beater on the lot until I could afford to get it towed again (although be warned they normally charge a $7 per day service charge for that kind of thing - I just got lucky because they had the space I think). In either case they had great customer service even if I cant speak directly to the repairs. It did take a while to get a phone call in the beginning but some of that was my fault. I recommend talking to James as hes the more approachable of the fellows there but they all seem to have integrity and a low tolerance for bullshit, which I appreciate. Definitely check them out if you are looking for a mechanic in Athens.

Very BAD experience, this Monday I left my Volvo S80 to them for motor oil and filter change. Yesterday, I called them to check if my vehicle is available for picking up. They said there is a leak of the coolant tank and it needs 160 bucks to fix it. I didnt do it, when I drive the car back to home, the coolant was leaking as hell. It never happened before. Then I opened the hood and check the leaking they said, guess what, the metal ring to fasten the rubber tube to the coolant tank has been removed!!! I used a locked nylon cable temporarily fixed it and it stop leaking. So, is this the way you do business? Purposely create some "problems" so you can extra charge the customers? I remember you guys fix car not break cars. They said they are Volvo specialists so I trusted them, but right now to me they are specialists on something else. It is totally a scam. I will never go back again.

I have a older Volvo, and I wont take it to anyone else. These guys are amazing. My car broke down on Saturday night. First thing Monday I came in to see if they could work on it. When I told them I had to leave town that day, and asked them if it was possible to work on my car that same day. They guys at Diversified Automotive told me they would get right on it. In just a few hours my car was fixed, and I was back on the road. Best thing beside their ability to see me right away, is that their price was extremely affordable. Any other mechanic might have tried to rip me off because of my deadline, but these guys charged me for only an hour of labor and the parts, which came out to around $150. I have never left a mechanics shop for so little money. This is my new go to shop for my volvo.

Went in thinking I need my front wheel bearings replaced. I was nervous because it was my first time going into an auto repair shop and I also went alone, without a guy there. Happy to say my experience was great - the owner (I think he was the owner) at the front desk was very kind and the service was quick, done in a few hours, and (I believe) very fairly priced. Needed my front rotors and brake pads replaced and it was $200 - they offer discounts for AAA and students, too! Word of advice - make an appointment over the phone before going in! They are usually pretty busy, so this will give you a better idea of what to expect in terms of wait time. I will definitely come back for the next repair I need!
