My horrific experience occurred at the end of May and beginning of June. However, its taken me this long to write about it without crying. Being as brief as possible, heres the debacle that happened to me at Steve Hightower Salon...I was letting my gray grow in. I had about 2 inches in growth so it was quite visible at this point. I decided to have the old color replaced with silver gray. I thought it would be fun since it is all the rage right now. Plus, I figured it would look more natural growing in instead of having a reddish brown on the bottom of my new salt and pepper growth. My original appointment was with Brian Mayer. I went into the salon with LOTS of pictures. There was no doubt what I wanted and that Brian understood my request. He suggested going salt and pepper with silver gray instead of full silver to blend even more naturally. After a 5 hour process, I left with green hair. The kind of green that looks like a blond spent the summer in a chlorine pool. I wasnt even sure I was seeing it properly. I thought it had to be an illusion as I was shuffled out of the salon. Once in the daylight, there was no doubt of the severe color error by Brian. I texted about the problem and was to to call for a color correction after the holiday weekend (this was memorial weekend). 2 weeks later, I was back for a "do over". This time with Milissa Larsen. This experience was even more horrifying than the 1st! She spent some time chatting with me to ensure there was no miscommunication. I showed her the original pictures plus more for good measure. She wasnt even close! It was blond at best with a dark under layer. But the worse part, my hair was breaking off and falling out everywhere while she brushed and dried it!! I told her to stop because of the breakage, and to my horror, this is what she said..."well, at least you have lots of hair so youll never be bald". What?!? Then, after using a round bristled brush on me that was contributing to the massive amount of hair loss, she had the audacity to look me in the eye and say..."to prevent further breakage, dont brush your hair when its wet". I left with wet hair and in tears. I was mortified by the entire 11 hour total process as well as the $380+ I paid for this unacceptable treatment. I should have been refunded my money at the very least. However, what disappointed me the most was never once hearing the words "We are sorry". The owner, Steve, was in the salon on both of my visits. He never even said a word to me when clearly, his employees were unable to produce the intended results. Both stylists were untalented when trying to accomplish a silver color, unprofessional with words, and uncaring about my experience. Im not suggesting that they are unskilled in all areas. I am just clearly stating that if you are in the market for out-of-the-ordinary creativity in color or want people that care about the results, do NOT go to this salon. This advice will save you from a horrific and unacceptable experience such as mine. I am now looking at years to get my hair back its original healthy condition. Steve Hightower salon was a waste of my money and my time.

Absolutely delighted again. Since my first post, Ive been devoted to Steve and his supremely talented team of PROFESSIONALS. To those who have left negative reviews (below) about color errors, I have to ask: Did you not pay head to the signs posted online and throughout the salon that CLEARLY state they GUARANTEE their work? The last time I went in for color, they gave me precisely what I had asked for and yet I ended up not loving it. ..they brought me right back and promptly gave me what I should have asked for in the first place; no questions asked, no blame or finger pointing. They took care of my "Im normally not so high-maintenance" self, quickly and professionally. It was part of the service I had already paid for.* Now, back to my gorgeous hair! Yesterday we changed it a little bit and I was a little nervous that wed have to adjust it, but wow. Steve gave me a great cut, as always, and as he dried & styled it exactly how I would do it (if I were only as gifted, lol) I couldnt believe how gorgeous my color looks. I can genuinely say, without a hint of irony or bragging, my hair cut and color are world class. My ONLY regret is that as Im a professional chef, my hair is always up and hidden in a hat and I cant shake it out nearly as much as I want to (ok, yeah, I would end up being one of THOSE girls! LOL), but strangers still get a peep of it. ..and believe me, they comment. Steve, you are making me feel vain for the first time in my life. ..and I think I like it! *I dont mean to be impolite or discourteous, but the above is an actual illustration of their excellent customer service guarantee, in case there might still be some confused souls out there.

For some reason, I cannot review under anything but my husbands name, but who cares: the point is about reviewing this salon and giving it the 5 stars it DESERVES. Steve not only pulled out 20+ years of henna from my hair, but gave me the cut and sassy red color of my dreams, all without causing damage. What more can I say than that?! Wait, it turns out I can say plenty! Steve is unbelievably talented and deserves his reputation and his client base. Hes worth every penny, although in reality, I actually think his rates are quite an excellent value and he could easily get away with charging much, much more. His team is incredible: from Rose and her mom to everyone else... they take such great care of me and I always have a wonderful experience there... so much so I almost wish I could start from scratch again! No, Im too vain about my new hair to actually wish that, but Im hoping you get the point. I recommend Steve Hightower and his wonderful full-service team more than anyone Ive ever gone to.

I havent had my hair cut by a professional since I left the industry several years ago, so my hair had morphed into a non-style that I kept wound in a bun on top of my head. Trying to find a new hairdresser is always a game of chance, but luckily I know Jack Lancaster. I used to work with him at Bella Capelli in Roswell and was elated to know that he was now cutting hair in the city. Booking was a cinch. When I arrived, there was no waiting. Jack did a quick consultation and took me to be shampooed. Because every client Ive ever seen leave his chair looks effortlessly chic, I had no worries whatsoever as I saw my hair fall around me. I love my new haircut. It is easy to style and versatile. Plus the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray is my new must have product!

I LOVE THIS SALON! Everyone I spoke with was friendly, upbeat and knowledgeable. I made an appointment with Conor Sea and asked for a new look that wasnt too drastically different. I wanted to go very dark and he gave his professional opinion on what would work best for me. He did a beautiful deep dark espresso brunette with a milk Chocolate to create a sensual ombré effect. He gave me the perfect layered cut and a sexy blow out to complete my look! I couldnt be happier! I will be making Steve Hightower my Go-to salon and hopefully keep Conor as my permanent stylist from now on!
