Highly recommend avoiding this company! I was contacted by J&M roofing after we had a large storm in the area. I was concerned about my roof due to issues I had had in the past, the age of the roof, and the big storm that we had (a lot of tree branches, debris, and hail). I allowed a representative to come out to inspect the roof at a time where I couldn’t be available (they assured me I didn’t need to be there and that they would document what was found). After the inspection, I received a call from the representative (Jacob) ensuring me that I had indeed sustained a good amount of damage to the roof due to this storm and that they recommended that I submit a claim (that they were very confident would get approved) and setup a time for an adjustor to come out so they could meet them and go over the damage together. They wanted me to conference in my Insurance agent so that they could be involved in the claim process and explain the damage. I complied and we called my insurance agent and submitted the claim based on the damage that was observed. A few days later, a claims adjustor called me to schedule an appointment to come inspect the roof (scheduled inspection was to be 2 days later). I immediately got in touch with J&M to make sure that the time selected would work for them. They assured me they would be there to meet with the adjustor to help ensure that the claim was approved. At the time scheduled, I left work early to meet with J&M representative and the adjustor to inspect the roof together. The claims adjustor showed up exactly on time, yet nobody from J&M was there. I tried texting, calling (leaving voicemails) to ask where they were, as my adjustor was not going to wait around for them to continue his evaluation. Well, to make this long story a bit shorter, J&M NEVER showed up to the scheduled inspection with the adjustor. To make matters MUCH worse, the adjustor walked the roof (with me) and did not find the level of damage that was noted by J&M inspector.. After the adjustor left, I made calls to J&M that went unanswered. Later that night, I got a single text message from a Jonathan at J&M asking me if the adjustor showed up and stating that he completely missed the appointment (no duh!). No apology was sent and I didn’t even get a follow up call (despite me responding to please call me). The next day, I still did not get a call or response from them. I finally called (yet again) and reached Jonathan and he said he just plain forgot about the appointment and was not apologetic and was seemingly bothered that I contacted him. These guys will promise the world, but when it comes down to responsibility, they seem to be severely lacking. Once he found out that the claim may not be approved, they wanted nothing more to do with me. I then contacted J&M main office as a last ditch effort to at least notify the owner of the company that their workers were unprofessional and borderline illegal. After explaining my problems in intricate detail to the receptionist, I was assured that the owner would contact me directly to hear about the issues I experienced and try to make it right. That call NEVER happened. I really tried to give them a shot to rectify their problems to no avail. I cannot help but feel that their strategy is to blanket customers with tactics to get them to submit claims despite lack of actual damage (telling homeowners that there is a lot of damage to their roof and that they should take action and that Insurance will cover it). Im sure much of their revenue is based on insurance claims and if customers don’t submit them – they do not receive as many jobs. This tactic is deceptive to homeowners (and insurance companies) and the fact that they don’t even show up to scheduled appointments says a LOT about this company. I would recommend that people use a different company than J&M, as their tactics and responsibility are less than desirable. I can only imagine how many corners would be cut if I actually hired them to repair/replace a roof.

J&M Roofing did a great job for us. A hail storm came through our area in March 2017 but we couldn’t see any damage from the ground and assumed that everything was OK. Dylan & Chris with J&M volunteered to check our roof and found hail damaged shingles. Our insurance inspector verified the damage but only to one half of the roof. Chris noted that there was damage over the entire roof and suggested having a second inspection by the insurer. The repeat inspection confirmed that the entire roof needed to be replaced. J&M’s knowledge & persistence assured that we got the funds for the correct scope of roof repair. After the materials were delivered, the J&M roofing crew arrived for the job. I watched them throughout the project and saw firsthand what a good job they did: • laid out tarps, • setup ropes for working safely on the steep roof, • quickly removed the old shingles, • identified two areas that needed minor repair, • covered the valleys, • laid down the roofing felt, • installed large metal drip edges, • snapped chalk lines, • installed the replacement shingles, • replaced roof vent boots • installed the ridge vents and • performed a thorough final clean up around the house. During the installation, Pefus, the crew supervisor, communicated well by informing us of the progress and asking whether we had any issues with the process. The crew worked very well together. Pefus said they had been together four years and it was obvious from their coordinated, efficient efforts that they were a well-oiled machine. I was very pleased that the crew cleaned up as they worked and kept the area in good condition. Mid job, Dylan stopped by to check on progress and ask if we had any questions. He said that we should immediately call him if we had any concerns. This is our fourth home but the first time for a roof replacement and we can’t imagine a better experience. We highly recommend J&M Roofing for an excellent job by competent personnel with quality materials.

We had some recent storms in our area that caused several shingles to blow off of our house. We knew that we needed to do something pretty soon before things got worse. My husband has worked in construction and is very familiar with roofing construction. So when Dylan Peoples rang our door bell my husband listened to what he had to say to see if he was legit or not. Dylan climbed up on our roof and took a lot of pictures documenting all of the damage that he found. He stated to us that we definitely had enough damage to file a claim with our insurance company. He contacted our insurance company for us and asked them to come out to inspect our house. The insurance company sent an adjuster out to our house to inspect it and the claim was approved. About a week later we had our new roof installed. My husband took the day off from work to watch the installers to make sure everything was done correctly and it was. They did a great job installing everything and also cleaning up our yard when they were finished. Several of our neighbors were so impressed with the job that J&M Roofing did on our house they asked Dylan to take a look at their house also. To date, Dylan has had new roofs installed on 4 other houses in our neighborhood and he has several more claims still pending. We would definitely recommend J&M Roofing to anyone in need of roofing work on their house.
