Took my car for a power steering fluid leak when they first opened on a Friday morning. They got to my car 3 hours later. It was a high pressure power steering hose they said on the phone. $350 dollars! Of course they couldnt get the part until Monday. I called Auto Zone a few miles from the shop and they had the part IN STOCK. I called them back telling them I needed my car for the weekend, I will get them the part...just put it on. They said fine $250. Got the $26 dollar part, heading to the shop, they called, its the low pressure hose take the part back well show you when you get here. I was feeling frustrated. They showed me the leak. Said they had to drop my sub frame to do a patch job!!! (more labor) $350-$375 now! without any parts. Whatever, just fix my car for the weekend. 4:30pm rolls around no call shop closes at 5:30pm. Got to the shop 4:45ish. My car is sitting out front. Been done for awhile. Said he was just about to call me. Luckily they didnt have to drop my sub frame...lol still $250 for labor for a patch job. I decided to go to this shop thinking it would be reasonable and the GREAT reviews ... but now I have second thoughts. For anyone who goes here use your own judgement not just that of the person working on your car. Thankful they got my car on the road in 1 day instead of 3.

November 6, 2014 Review: This week, I had my oil changed using one of the great incentive programs offered by Stop and Ride. When I picked up my car, I noticed some steering difficulty so I turned and went back. Even though it was closing, they worked quickly to discover a tire separation problem that became evident when they rotated the tires. Then, they worked with me to find a good quality tire that would meet my needs and arranged a convenient time and way to replace the tire, even picking up my car while I was in a meeting the next day. Blessings on your tribe! ------ November, 2013 Review: On Friday I called and made an appointment for my regular oil change on Monday, November 25th. I appreciate the fact that a tire rotation is included at no extra cost. I also appreciate that they are more than willing to give me a ride to and from my job so that I dont have to miss work while I wait for them to complete the job. It is also helpful with my high mileage car that they will also check it out and let me know of maintenance items that need to be handled. Thank you!

Stop and Ride was recommended to me by Randy Massey of Neighborhood Paint and Body in Jefferson after my car started acting up. The staff were friendly and professional. I had shown up and decided to wait while they diagnosed the problem. They initially said it would be about 45 minutes, but after about 30 minutes, one of the staff (sorry, I didnt get his name!) told me that it was going to be longer. They even offered to drive me home. About 2 hours later they called me and told me what was wrong, gave me an estimate and told me theyd be done in about an hour. Exactly an hour and six minutes later I arrived to find my car running perfectly.. And the quote they gave me over the phone was exactly what they had charged. I will definitely be a return customer. Ive been looking for a good, reliable auto mechanic ever since I moved to Jackson County, and its a relief to know Ive found one. Thank you, Stop and Go!

I brought in my 98 mustang for some issues with the PAT system. Greg and Phillip were able to source the parts and repair my car for half of what was quoted. The also found and repaired some contributory problems in the wire harness that was damaged by a crushed motor mount. The owner and his team found that the additional money quoted was un necessary and the problems were repaired. Its nice to know in a world of crooked auto mechanics there is at least one shop i can trust to do the job right for a fair price. They have since earned my repeat business and i recommend to all my friends and family to use this shop for their automotive needs. I understand that most mechanics cant really give a diagnosis until the car is taken apart to see whats broken inside, but i really feel these professionals kept me the customer in mind when it came to my time and money, as they exceeded my expectations.

I used to dread getting my oil changed. I felt like because I was a woman, I was getting taken advantage of. The places I used to go would talk way over my head and made me feel like if I didnt do what they recommended my car would fall apart while I was driving.....with my three kids in the car....in the middle of the night....during a blizzard....are you getting my drift? Well Im glad to say that now I actually enjoy getting my car serviced! The guys at Stop and Ride are so nice and go out of there way to make sure I actually understand the maintenance my car might need. Luckily most of the time its just an oil change and Im good to go. When I have needed other services I never felt pressured into spending tons of money. Oh, and the complimentary hot/cold drinks are a nice touch too! Cant say enough good things about them! Stop and Ride is a place I recommend to everyone I know. I have been using their services since I moved back to the area two years ago. I have had brake jobs done on both of my vehicles, had a water pump replaced on one, had a complete engine overhaul completed, and also had numerous oil changes and regular maintenance done there. Craig and David are always friendly and explain things in ways I can understand. They dont automatically assume I know nothing about cars. Michael, the lead mechanic, always says hi. The best thing about this place is that they keep me updated and do not try to push me into repairs. They make recommendations, such as upgrading to a warrantied brake pad. definitely the best place around.

Stop and Ride is the absolute best auto care and repair shop I have found. I drive from East Athens just to use them because they are the best anywhere around. They are always prompt and friendly. They find the problems that need to be taken care of. They dont make up problems with your car to try and make extra money, like other auto repair shops Ive been to in Athens. I highly recommend trying them out. Its worth the drive from Athens to get the honest and friendly treatment you deserve. Also, they are really good about informing you about anything with your vehicle in a way that even someone who knows nothing about cars can understand. Give Greg, the owner, a call and check them out!

I had my car towed to Stop and Ride at closing time on a Monday afternoon, after being stranded on the side of the road. By the following morning, the staff at Stop and Ride were already contacting me about the problem, a bad battery and alternator; and that same day they repaired my car and had it ready for pick-up. Because I had no way to get to them, a member of their staff was sent to pick me up. The employees had already taken the time to reprogram my radio to all of its preset stations, which are deleted when the battery is disconnected. My experience with Stop and Ride is without a doubt the best that I have ever experienced with an auto mechanic.
