I am beside myself. Please know that I am not a person who would complain or say something bad about a person trying to operate a business. BUT PLEASE KNOW THIS SHOP IS A WOLF IN SHEEPS CLOTHING. I WAS JUST BLACKMAILED AND RIPPED OFF IN A SPAN OF 8 HOURS WITH THIS SHOP TO THE POINT WHERE I CALLED THE POLICE TO HAVE THEM HELP RESOLVE. I also heard the same thing from neighbors that they may be over priced but they are good mechanics. Well they are deceiptful from my experience. My wife and I moved to Lilburn last summer and was hoping to find a local honest mechanic so I chose to go to this shop as it is right down the street. I brought our car in to them at @ 10am to get a complete service including an oil change and coolant check and flush. These two items I knew I needed. I also mentioned to them that my check engine light was on and if they could help me just take a look at that. I was told no problem and that I would need to leave the car and they would be able to get to the car in the afternoon. I was not asked to sign anything nor was given any advance warning for what was about to happen. I get a call at @ 3:30pm from Gus telling me that they checked the car and hooked it up to check the code for what was wrong. They said they found the problem. It was an emission related part failure and it will cost $218 to repair. I said Geesh thats a lot of money to sink into this car right now as I have 160,000 miles on the car and did not feel I wanted to invest that type of money as they said the part did not effect the driving of the car and I could get away with it. I said great and thanks and asked if the car was ready with the other items and I could come pick up the car. The guy Gus said "NO...we did not get to the other items yet. we just checked the emission problem. It will be $95 for a diagnostic charge before we proceed. I said that sounded odd because I brought the car in for other services that were the prioroty and I am willing to pay for those services and that I felt that $95 is out of line as I am getting work done. it was not like I asked them to check my car and then I take my car and leave. So in order to try to save the money I figure let me go ahead and fix the car presuming that the $95 would come off the back end as a credit if I get the car fixed which I know the auto dealer does do that when you go for service there. They will charge you a diagnistic charge but credit you towards the repair. Well, they basically said they are not proceeding to do the other requested work until i pay the $95. Now combine that with that they did not even touch my car for the other things I started to get an eerie feeling you get when someone is taking advantage of you. I was never told up front that there was a charge for them to look at my car. I was never asked to sign any estimate for any potential charges. Shame on me but Gus made me feel with a wink wink of his eye that "he was taking care of me". I asked to speak with the owner and thats when this guy Rick comes out and I never met anyone as angry, rude and cranky and unwilling to understand or see or even listen when I got the car dealer and another mechanic on the phone to let him see that his practice is a bit unheard of. He was rude, belligerent and I EVEN OFFERED TO SETTLE AND STILL GET THE CAR OIL CHANGE SERVICE AND COOLANT FLUSH performed which was priced at about $130 worth of work if he would be willing to drop the $95 diagnostic fee. He said he refused to move on his decsion. I called the police to help mediate and resolve and again even the police asked me what I would be willing to do to help resolve this disagreement. He still would not budge. The police advised me with what I already thought I would do which is take him to small claims court for the principle. Thanks for letting me vent. I wish i could tell you if they are good mechanics or not but they didnt do anything to my car that was asked.

I have a 1963 Thunderbird, and needed some brake work done. Parts arent easy to find for older cars, and I had already tracked down what I needed, but didnt have the time or space to do this job in my garage/driveway. I had stumbled across Garmons by accident, and gave them a call. Gus set me up with a drop off time, and we discussed a price range. Dropped car off Wednesday night, picked up a VASTLY improved car Thursday afternoon. Price was as agreed on, with a slight upcharge for fluids and shops supplies (brake cleaner). Could not be more pleased. Im going out cruisin with my baby today thanks to Garmons.

I am a do it yourselfer but this time, time was not on my side and I needed quick help. I was referred to Garmons by a friend (thanks Kevin). The repairs I needed were done quickly and I dont think they took advantage of my desperate situation. I had conversations with both Rick and Gus, both were always polite and very helpful.
