I have been going to this Midas for over 15 years. I have always been happy with there service in the past. The only issues I have had in the past were my car smelling like smokers or my radio presets all gone from them unplugging my battery. This last weekend, my experience became a deal breaker with them. I brought in my car for an oil change and back brakes to be replaced. I brought the car in at 7:00 AM and was third in line. I received a call at 11:00 that they looked at the car and my back brakes needed to be replaced. Brandon also told me I should get an oil change, which I had already asked to have done. He also recommended I have the front rotors resurfaced and the front pads cleaned for an additional charge which I accepted . I was told my car would be ready around noonish. I then received a call around 1:00 PM that there was an additional problem that just came up with the car. When they test drove it, the ABS and SVC sensor came on when they started the car. This sensor did not come on prior to bringing it into them. The sensor is located in the same area as the back brakes. They wanted an additional charge to fix what I think they caused. I refused. I am highly suspicious that they did something and are not owning up to it. I picked up my car and brought it over to the my dealer to have them fix the issue. I will not be returning to this location ever again.

I brought my girlfriends car here when she threw a code for a random misfire. I replaced the spark plugs and wires and that still didnt fix the issue, I work on cars frequently but I just didnt have the time to track down the cause of the misfire so I brought it here. When they called us 2 days later they told us that we had a bad fuel injector and needed to be replaced, quoted us $865 so we walked out because I didnt believe them and I wouldnt let her spend that much. So I decided to see if the injector really was bad and ran a few test when I had the time and the results said all injectors were good to go. Tracked the problem to the fuel pressure regulator, $50 part and about a half hour to replace on my own. Stay away from this shop, theyre either a bunch of incompetent mechanics or con artist playing on people who dont know cars. EDIT: I was contacted by Midas about this issue and they apologized for the misunderstanding and refunded the diagnostics fee. Very professional the way it was handled.

Got a flat tire so I stopped at my local MiDAS. Jeff, the store manager at the Bolingbrook location told me the wait time was 30 minutes to fix the flat. I agreed to wait! An hour passed by, finally, one of his technicians goes to my car and looks at the tire without taken the tire out! He calls Jeff along his two co-workers outside to inspect the tire..Jeff, comes back inside and tells me that the tire is no good and is burned beyond repair. He offers a new tire for $150. He is trying to convince me and Im not falling for it.When I asked him to put the spare tire on then he tells me that I have to pay him $10.00! At this time I knew he was up to no good. I changed the tire myself in the lot and drove to my local Nissan dealer. The service department manager looks at the tire tells me that the tire is in perfect condition and it would only cost me $7.00 to fix the flat tire!! Scam artists are everywhere!

I brought my car, as I was experiencing a battery leakage if it idle for 2days. Midas had tested it said they need to replace the alternator.it is showing low voltage. They said it costs $560, and since Iam a old customer they can do it for $450. I said I will come back. I was told that if I walk out now, they will not guarantee the same rate. I took my car to Peppers auto, and they diagnosed that PCM module is drawing more power, and replaced it.They said nothing wrong with alternator.. Now my car runs without any problems even if it is idle for two weeks. Midas just wanted to rip me off with false diagnosis.

Went it yesterday for an oil change everything went ok and they charged me for a piece that they couldnt take off from the oil change so it ended up being 35 dollars I was ok if they put a new piece .when I was going to pay i told the person I had a coupon for a 10 dollars off of an oil change and instead of taking the coupon he charge me and didnt take my online coupon.

I took my car in for an oil change they told me i needed to replace the control arm an needed an alignment and the serpanteen belt was cracked. The cost for all of it would be around 500. The next day i took the car to the nesson dealer they told me that was nothing wrong with the car.

Dean was very nice & helpful, but $30 for a brake inspection is too much. They also charge an arm & a leg for extra stuff that dont need to be done right away. Also paid FULL PRICE for an incomplete inspection. FIRST & LAST TIME GOING TO MIDAS.

The staff and management here are so helpful. They are honest and trustworthy people, which is very hard to come by in the automotive industry. I would drive out of my way to come here again and have them help me.
