This place has terrible customer service..a friend of mine had a starter and battery replaced within 6 months..ago and the car would not start I am a technician and verified the battery was at fault because the alternator was charging at 14.4 V and battery was not holding a charge. I had it tested at Pep Boys did a load test..battery had a bad cell. It was still under warranty so I figured we bring the battery back and they had to warranty it out..they said they have to charge it for 2 hrs and test it even though it was just tested. the battery had at least 12.2 V on it enough to do a load test I checked it. It was bullshit to me..pep boys were able to do a test on it. the battery wasnt even dead. The service advisor said he didnt have to explain everything to my friend the customer. This could have been handle better. He wanted to vehicle to be towed in to take a look at it to make sure it was a battery. They charged him 115 for the battery installed when you can go to autozone to pay 50 bucks installed for free. He then said he had to leave it overnight to charge it because he couldnt get a good reading. That is bullshit to me it doesnt take all night to charge a battery n do a load test to verify it is bad. This could have been handled way better

I brought in my Corvette to install a device that allows me to avoid the 1st to 4th gear shift program for shifting at low speeds. Good News is I was quoted one price but was pleased (and amazed) to find that they were able to do it in less time.... so they reduced my bill !!! Imagine that! I then brought in my Jeep, which has 66,000 miles, for brakes. I was prepared to buy brakes for both axles but was told that only the fronts required replacement. There is a lot to be said for a firm that only repairs what you really need. While the Jeep was in for inspection, they found two small interior cabin filters that were nearly completely non functional with dirt. In the past Ive brought the Jeep to the Jeep dealer and other places for routine maintenance but no one ever brought this to my attention before. I saw the filthy filters and was told that not changing them could have resulted in a very expensive repair bill so I gladly agreed to pay for their replacement. Theyve earned my business from now on. I trust these guys and am pleased with their pricing and service.

I serviced my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee here several times, and they did a great job. I cant speak for the price since I wasnt the one footing the bill, but they always made sure I was satisfied with their work. They even took me out for a test drive a week later after I told them I still noticed shuddering in my steering wheel during high speeds. Dina is a sweetheart and hilarious to boot (she told me once she used to do standup.. I can see it) and she was always able to give me a ride when requested. I never really dealt much with the owner Ron, as it was usually Andy who handled the servicing on my Jeep. He is very straight forward, patient and detailed when going over estimates. My car was always done when promised, and Im pretty sure they even squeezed me in once on a busy day when they very well could have told me no. I dont disagree that they try to sell you on some things you probably dont need but lets be honest, are you ever really going to find a franchise car shop that wont?

Today I went to Merlin 200000 for oil change. The store is located at 920 E. Ogden Avenue, Naperville, IL. The owner Ron told me my car had oil leak and showed that to me. It was unbelievable to me that I saw oil drips everywhere. To fix that they needed to replace the oil pan gasket, and I had to pay $172. I told Ron my car had no leakage at all before I came to the store and my garage floor was clean and no sign of oil leak. I asked them to clean the oil from the oil tank and do not replace the oil pan gasket. The big problem now is, after the oil change, my car possibly has real oil leak. After I got home at night (10 hours after oil change) and parked my car in the garage, an hour and half late, we found there was a fresh oil spot on the garage floor. The other problem is that after the oil change, maintenance alarm showed up from time to time. Avoid this garage if you don’t want your car getting into problems that would be deliberately created.

I had a really good experience here. Took my 2004 Audi to have my middle muffler replaced. Without an appointment, they ordered the part in that morning and finished my car by the end of the day. Dina was able to give me a ride to work while the job was being done, and I think Ron and the others did some good work. There was a little exhaust pipe installation mix-up, but they fit me in and got it fixed right away after I noticed the problem. And they gave me a gift certificate in return for my troubles. Friendly and respectable customer interactions. They fit me in and finished the work when they said they would. I think the pricing was very reasonable, and they didnt try to push any extra service on me. This will be the first place I call next time I need work done.

One star is too many for this place. Lets run down all the ways they offered questionable suggestions: 1.) They suggested I get new tires, when I just got all new tires 5 months ago. 2.) Said I could not get my tires aligned, and followed that up with a bill for $3,000 to fix all the "problems", which included work they had done just three months ago. When I took my car to two other mechanics, literally none of the same services were suggested by those shops. 3.) Three months ago they suggested that I had an oil leak. Magically when I returned this time, the oil was no longer leaking. In sum, do not go to this place. They are a shady company. Also, check out their reviews on yelp.

Normally when you walk into a repair shop you expect it to be dirty and the mechanics to be rude. However, when I went into Merlin 200,000 Mile Shop it was the complete opposite. The front desk and even the garage area, that I was able to see, was clean and neat and the mechanics are extremely helpful and listen to everything that you want done. They are amazing and I couldnt be happier with my experience there. Keep up the good work.

I had a last minute emergency as I noticed a dragging sound on the bottom of my car. I called them up and they welcomed my situation with open arms. Within 20 minutes they had fixed my problem. They were extremely supportive and generous with their expertise and skill. If more shops did business like these guys the world would be in good shape! Thanks again for your kindness !

I highly recommend Merlins of Naperville to everyone. This winter I purchased an older vehicle. It turned out to have been an unwise purchase. Everyone at Merlins went out of their way to basically rebuild the car as quickly as possible and for good prices. I am very happy with their level of knowledge and service.
