These guys are absolutely awesome and extremely truthful about what does and does not need to be fixed. If youre anything like me and dont know a whole ton about cars, this is definitely the place to go! I went to a competitors store and was quoted around $900 for a set of calipers, rotors, brake pads, fuel lines, and more, most of which didnt need to be fixed. When I called them, I explained the situation and how I needed to have the bare minimum done. When I arrived, they immediately pulled the car is and started looking at it, and not being a very car-savy person, they explained and answered everything. They also corrected any misinformation I had received from the competitor and showed me an issue the competitor never showed me. They changed out my brake pads and rotor without trying to scrape any extra money out of me, and even suggested going to a junk yard to look for replacements for some of the pricier pieces. They serviced my car very quickly, I was in and out within an hour and a half from examination till bring returned my keys, including time to discuss with my boyfriend options for replacing some parts in a couple of weeks. Had my wifes car towed there to replace a fuel pump. Was a little shocked when the bill was $575, mainly because it took about 1.5 hours to fix. The guy told me that the labor was $87/hour (reasonable) and the fuel pump was $380. I looked at the Advance Auto Parts website which had them listed for $220 (which meant Car-X probably paid about $150 for the pump). The guy tried to explain that they get them for around the same price any customer would pay at Advance Auto Parts (I find that hard to believe). He said that the over $200 mark-up on the fuel pump is just the cost of doing business... I thought thats what the cost of labor was for! I brought it to this place because of all the 5 star reviews... I am guessing that these are probably fake reviews because nobody has 17 five-star reviews without a single review thats less than five stars. I own and run a business and have nothing but good reviews on the internet but even some of those customers will give us 4 stars with a good review instead of 5 stars for no good reason. I am guessing that they used some software or service to fake the reviews.

My husband and I have had absolutely fantastic experiences at the Naperville, IL Ogden Avenue CarX. Brian, the manager, won my husbands and my trust by giving us straightforward, honest advice. My husbands old car was constantly in need of repairs. We dont know much about cars, so to make sure we werent getting scammed, we used to get multiple quotes from all the repair shops along Ogden Avenue. Usually the repair shops would indicate that most of the same things needed repairs, but everyone except Brian at Car-X tried to add an extra repair that no one else found. Brian always caught the problems that the other guys did, but he never added anything extra. Weve been taking our cars exclusively to Car-X for the last few years and couldnt be more pleased. Brian and his staff never try to sell you something you dont need and theyll give you the unadulterated truth about your car problems. Brian has friendly and trustworthy attitude that makes car repairs almost pleasant. We really cant recommend him enough.

Avoid Saturday if you dont want to drop off and wait for 1hr or more for just Oil Change. I went on a Monday morning with a $50 coupon synthetic oil change, plus wiper blade replace and tire rotation. It was pretty good deal. Usually my past experience with other shops, they are not happy to honor deals/coupons without some upselling. But I had different experience here. They honored the coupon without question. Informed me that my tire are low on tread. They wanted to know my preference and printed me couple of quotes. Also told me if I find lower price, they will match and give me one year of oil change free. I liked the fact that they never forced me to buy the service from them and gave me option to shop around. I know I will go back to the shop for the tire works and future services unless my feelings hurt. :) I will suggest to give it a try if you are scared of hard salesmanship at other places.

Honest honest honest… They take great care of you here: At the beginning of winter, my fan was blowing cold air. After about an hour in the shop, they told me that they released some trapped air and the heat was now working – good as new. There was no charge – can you believe that… no charge. They also found a bad fuse… also, no charge. The oil changes are reasonably priced, but I would recommend taking your car there on a weekday as they are packed on the weekends. I use Car-X for all of my break work, oil changes and regular scheduled maintenance. I would highly recommend this shop.

I was one of those people who only took my car to the dealer for service. A friend suggested I try Car-X on Ogden Avenue in Naperville. Almost 8 years later Im still taking my car there. Over the years I have developed a relationship with the Ian, the manager. He is friendly and very helpful in explaining what work needs to be done and the cost of the parts and service needed. There have been several times I needed to leave my car for an extended period of time. Ian always arranged a ride to and from my home. I highly recommend Car-X of Naperville. You wont be disappointed.

I have gone there several times. Always a positive experience. I took my car in due to brake issues. They called me today, told me the issue and said, "this is a recall on your car. The dealer may repair for free". Sure enough, the dealer did the repair. I know of no other car repair that would suggest I take it somewhere else or do the homework to see that it was a recall. I have always liked this shop. But this takes it to a whole new level. I will always recommend and use this Car-X. They have always been great and done such fantastic work. Love them!!

I chose this location after reading past reviews. My brakes were beginning to squeak and I needed an honest inspection. The staff was very friendly. After taking a look at my brakes they informed me I did not need new brakes...in fact my brakes "had a lot of life left in them." They explained, however, what the cause of the squeaking was, but simply said it was up to me if I wanted to complete that work...as it really was not impacting my cars performance. I was truly impressed with their honesty and will definitely return there in the future.

First thing first, they are nice, friendly, and honest group of guys. They have reasonable price and do outstanding job. I never had anything bad issues. The service is really good. They do their best to get you in and out. No matter what, but I always come here to get my oil change. I had bad experience with other shops and when I started coming here. I had this good sense that this is my shop where I get any tune-ups/major repair done on my car.
