Called Mike Williams plumbing due to the slow trickling of the water from the shower when turned off. I called because I have heard about the company from the multiple ads in which they claim such excellent service. The technician came out and it took no more than 10 minutes to diagnose that there was a problem with the spilling valve causing a leak. The technician also told me that sometimes the calcium buildup prevents the valve from closing completely. The technician then quickly presented me with the "upfront pricing". He said it would be $406 to "repair" and "rebuild" the valve. Outrageous and unbelievable! He then told it will be over $2000 to replace a new shower head and plate!!! Im so glad I didnt agree to the offered repair because later that day my husband and I took the internal components of the valve out using two wrenches and wiped them clean with the paper towel. We then put them right back in. The problem was fixed. I still cannot believe they were going to charge me over 400 dollars! The technician also didnt hesitate to immediately remind me about the $79.95 "trip" fee after I said that $406 sounded very expensive for this type of a problem. I will never use their services again neither will I recommend them to family and friends.

Mike Williams came out to my mothers house not once but twice within 3 days in attempt to fix a leaky toilet. The first time they did not have the generator charged. The maintenance man found this out after accusing her of having bad outlets. After waiting over an hour another maintenance man brought out a charged generator. Finally the maintenance man was able to reset the toilet. Two days after he left she was right back where it started with a leaky toilet. She called Mike Williams and they came out to correct the leaky toilet. Once again the maintenance man reset the toilet and left. This time a hour later she had a leaky toilet. At this point she called another plumber who was successful at fixing the problem in one trip at less than a third of the price of Mike Williams. Also be warned as Mike Williams will sign you up and charge you for a maintenance agreement that you did not agree too. The paperwork was completed in the car rather than with my senior mother.

Preying on seniors. My moms outside water froze as heat tape failed. Service man came and said it was frozen (yeah we knew that) and then gave her a non-itemized estimate of $1500 to run a new line of pex 8 feet, heat tape and insulate it. But he told her for $2500 she could get 2 year warranty on it and for $3500 a 5 year warranty. What?! When I called and spoke with the serviceman, he was unable to verbalize how the $1500 was broken down - how much for labor, parts, etc. After inspecting the line myself. Yes, its frozen but can be thawed and additional heat tape applied - no way that costs $1500. Protect your loved one and avoid Mike Williams. Other reviewers on multiple sites have commented that the prices are way above average. I agree.

Called for preventive maintenance on my air conditioning unit. Sara was courteous and scheduled my appointment promptly. Jennifer provided a follow-up call to let me know that scheduling remained on track. Brennan arrived on time and was gracious as he took the extra time to educate me on what he was accomplishing and the testing results of my unit. I appreciated Brennans frank, honest, and no pressure assessment of my options. It was a pleasure working with these professionals. Their proactive approach and responses to my queries made me realize that the company wanted to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. I am impressed and wholeheartedly recommend Mike Williams for your plumbing, heating an air conditioning needs.

I am a realtor with a local Champaign company. I have a buyer client in need of a new furnace and a/c after discovering during the inspection process the furnace has a cracked heat exchanger. I advised my client I would get an estimate to replace the HVAC units. When I called Mike Williams Plumbing and Heating of Champaign I was advised "they wouldnt give me an estimate because I wasnt a homeowner". I explained my client is buying the house and a bank currently owns the house. I dont get it! I was trying to do a service for my client and also solicit Mike Williams Plumbing which they wouldnt even offer an estimate. Sorry Mike Williams Plumbing and Heating, but that was my last call to your business.

Mike Williams has always been very professional with each visit, they arrive on time, and if anything needs to be changed (time of arrival) I always get a call from their office. They have done a couple of jobs for us and Ryan D. is always courteous and he is very thorough . This trip was for the Spring/Summer checkup of our AC unit and water heater. He and his assistant inspected the units, made suggestions and gave us options to upgrade things on our unit. NO high pressure just options. (I would like to see the quoted prices a little lower, but that is the cost of business in todays world)

Main sewer line was backed up. Called Mike Williams to clear it out, and the technician tried to clear it and then told me that my sewer line was misaligned or crushed and I would have to get it replaced. The technician wanted to charge me $580 to unsuccessfully clear out my line, and tried to justify it by saying that it would count towards replacing the sewer line (which he claimed averaged $20,000). I called Schoonover to come out the next day and they had it cleared and working properly in 45 minutes, and charged $135.

Horrible experience. They took advantage of my 85 year-old father, charging his credit card for $1100 when they did a VERY simple service to fix a toilet and garbage disposal that should have cost $450 max. This is not the first time Ive heard of this kind of rip-off from them. Had I known my father was calling them I would have stopped this immediately! PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! They are con artists and take advantage of people who are inexperienced in dealing with repair service people. NOT KIDDING.

e have a maintenance agreement with Mike Williams. They installed our water heater in 2014, and come out twice a year to make sure our plumbing and air conditioning systems are in good working order. They make recommendations of things we need to fix. Often they are minor things my husband can fix (and they dont complain that he fixes them, rather than their company). Things we can;t fix, they repair immediately. They are always nice, and I appreciate that they wear booties to protect my floors.

Bruce K. was professional and very helpful. He checked my AC unit, the furnace and the water heater. I told him I was having trouble putting the air filters in the furnace because of where they had to go. He changed them for me. I told him the water heater was 30 plus years old and I have never had it checked. Wondering if I should have it replaced. He said it was in good condition so he did not think I needed to replace now. He did give me prices for a new water heater if decide to replace.
