#30daychallenge Women should not be allowed to drive. Well, okay, I will retract that statement and specify that I should not be allowed to drive. I grew up in Chicago and was taking public transport from a young age and finally acquired a licence at the age of 21. Basically I drive like a grandma, but a city-driving grandma. And this grandma LOVES her car, a sweet little Ford Focus that I bought new in 2001 and have been driving ever since. Ten Chicago winters, stop-and-go driving and a handful of 500-mile road trips have taken their toll on "Betty Ford", and when she needs a nip and tuck I take her right to Ashland Tire and Auto for anything from a little Botox to open heart surgery. The guys there are friendly and professional, get their services done on a timely manner, and have always charged me exactly what they quoted me. Every time I pick Betty up from her various procedures I can feel a difference in the way she drives and am grateful for feeling as safe as possible in what is essentially a motor-powered tin can. Having a car can be a drag, but Betty and I have at least few more years together thanks to the guys at Ashland Tire and Auto.

My car was making noises and then suddenly, my there was a loud roar and the muffler just fell. I had no idea if it was only a muffler issue or something more. Read the awesome reviews, and even though Ashland Tire is not close to my house, I didnt even think, I just had the car towed there. They called me as soon as they received it, within the hour and said they would call with an estimate. I also asked that he check the car over in general. Patrick called me back that afternoon letting me know that the exhaust was in fact kaputs and needed to be replaced (resonator pipe and gasket set). They had also checked car over and everything else was fine, i.e. brakes etc. He was really friendly and explained everything they had done. He did not up-sell me on anything, told me how much everything was, and even better, that the car would be ready the next day. Total plus stupid 10.25% IL tax was about $194. I know places that will charge you at least $100 just to look at your car! Great service, very pleased. Will def. use them again for all my car needs.

I was referred to this shop. I had an insurance claim on my rims. The guy that took the pictures took bad pictures that the insurance couldnt use. Upon learning of it by calling my insurance company to check on my claim three days later, I had to go back to the shop and take better pictures myself. Unfortunately, the shop didnt verify with the insurance who they had to interact directly with for my claim that their pictures were good and had already got rid of one of my rims. The same guy instructed me to lie to the insurance company and rearrange the one rim and claim it was two. He was insistent that his picture was fine and that the insurance company was just giving me a hard time. Im out $150 because of his failure to take good pictures and verify with the insurance. As far as the work done, the shop did just fine. I question folks integrity when they instruct you to lie.

Ive been going to Ashland Tire for many years now - absolutely wonderful staff, and outstanding service. In an industry that you always wonder about if youre getting good service/fair price, Ashland leaves no doubt - these guys are honest, up front, and reliable! Have never been overcharged here, and in fact, they usually come in at better prices than I expected. Additionally, theres been times when Ive gone in for one problem, and theyve been able to fix or advise me about something else that also needs to be done, at little or no cost. Ive never felt pressured about any of the service Ive had done there, either -- these guys are hard-working and trustworthy, a real gem of a find in the automotive industry! I had tried several different places in town before I found them, and now I wont go anywhere else for my tire and brake needs. Would give them 6 stars if I could!

My car battery was dead and street cleaning was this morning so I needed a new battery ASAP. I called Ashland Tire & Auto once they opened to make sure they had mine in stock and the person who answered the phone was able to give me an almost immediate answer. So we drove over with the dead battery in tow. They informed us that we had been using the wrong sized battery and gave us the right one! An Interstate battery too, not some cheap off-brand. ALL of the employees, even the one that wasnt specifically working with us, were incredibly friendly and greeted us at the door. They asked if we needed anything or if we had been helped yet. When we went home and installed the battery it worked like a charm. There is NO WAY on earth I could be happier with their service and extremely welcoming staff.

Ashland Tire and Auto is THE BEST place to get your car fixed or serviced. The guys there are friendly, professional, honest and precise. They communicate and listen very patiently, asking questions and writing down your full answers as you give them. They are very organized, prompt and professional. They know how to develop loyal and lasting relationships with customers. They are always honest about what is wrong with your car and what NEEDS to be fixed and what does not (I know because I a very particular person when it comes to fixing/paying for fixing my car, so I get many professional opinions before I decide who I should make the repairs). All in all, I now have no need for second opinions about car repairs and neither will you if you go there.

I was really impressed with this auto repair shop. I had been taking my car to the same Pep Boys on Elston for a couple years now because I didnt really know where else to take it. A few weeks ago Pep Boys said I needed almost $1,000 worth of work done. I was concerned so I thought I should take it for a second opinion. I took it to Ashland Tire and Auto and they were really nice, they told me I only needed $200 worth of work done (the other stuff was unnecessary) and really didnt even pressure me to get that work done. My car was in and out in 2 hours, when Pep Boys said they would have to keep it for a few days. All around really really impressed. I will be going back here again for sure!

WOW. Really nice and great service. I will go back again, with my personal vehicle. I drove in with my companys vehicle after a flat tire. They said they didnt do fleet services, but offered to put on the spare for me. This was great because I was on my way into work, in a hurry, and it was pouring rain outside, so I really didnt want to do it myself. They even wrapped my old tire in plastic before placing it in the hatchback. No charge! I was super happy. Its the small things that count the most, sometimes. I will bring them my personal vehicle, from now on. Thanks Ashland Tire!
