I took my car in because this company was recommended by my mechanic. Nine days later when it became obvious that no work was being done on the car I went to pick it up. Mine you tests had already been done so it took him 9 days to figure it out. Red flags were popping up everywhere so I refused to leave the car any longer. I dont think this estimate was unreasonable just that the guy was a liar. 9 days of "Ill call you back" and receiving only one phone call back was enough for me. Just so you know guys, I trusted my instincts and checked the City of Chicago website and there were 3 tickets. Yes I paid them because the sticker had expired. Yes you said the car would be parked on the inside until repairs were done because I TOLD YOU (AND YOU UNDERSTOOD) that the sticker had expired and the repairs had to correct the emission test problem. Did I mention anything about lies? Well you can guess the rest of this story as Im sure its a familiar one. Sigh..I wish I could recommend these folks because Im sure some of the mechanics are really good , alas, not the one who "worked" on my car.

My experience with citywide transmission was horrible. I took my transmission to get fixed about 8 months ago. When i got it back the truck was the same nothing was fixed the shop told me to give the parts time to wear in. So i did i drove the truck for about 3 months almost leaving me stranded half the time .i could never go over 45mph. Nothing got better. So i called city wide transmission. They agreed to look at it. After a very frustrating conversation they agreed to rebuild the transmission againg.but that didnt help because the truck still has the same problem nothing has imroved. They agreed to change a solinoid pack in the transmission. Which they did but it would help if it wasnt a used part that was worse than the one that it had. So after 8 months $2000 later nothing has been fixed. Just a complete waste of my time and money. Asked for my money back i was offered $10 what a joke. I watched the mechanics work very unprofessional . They used old parts and dirty parts.

Last week, my car would not turn and I could not reverse or drive forward. Neighbors pushed me on to the street and said, it sounds like your transmission. The tow truck guy said its your transmission! When I arrived at City Transmissions, I was concerned about the cost of replacing the transmission, but when Vince brought the car into the shop he said, I heard something that may be good news, but I wont know until we put the car up. Suffice to say, he called a few hours later and told me that it was an axle that needed to be replaced and that he could have my car ready the next day. He was kind and explained what had occurred and what he observed. I am appreciative of their work and their ethics. I now have a mechanic I can trust. Thank you!

AWESOME! I have been to Citywide Transmission for service on my 2000 Mercury Mystique. Both times they were "minor repairs" (under $500). Now, I dont consider this minor to my wallet by any means, but I didnt need a new transmission. If I ever do, Im going to Citywide. Vince is great. Hes honest, and really wants you to be happy with the outcome. They kept me informed the entire process. I felt like Id be going there for years. Transmission repairs can be a scary thing, and seeing that Check Engine light come on is worse than getting a call from the IRS. Vince and the guys at Citywide have taken the fear away. They do more than just transmission work there too. Take your car to them. You wont be disappointed with the results.

Dropped off my car but made sure I marked the place where it parked at by putting something in front of the tire so that I would know if the car was moved. Got a call for repair, and I was asking questions, Vince had the nerve to tell me that " Im not sure why we are having this conversation because the trans is dead thats it, its over" I decided not to have the work done and he hung up on me. I went back to get my car and it was in the same spot with the trap I set under the tire still in tact. I do this because I dont trust a lot of mechanics. My suspicions were right. What the h - e double hockey sticks is the matter with mechanics now days. Money hungry @! *#? %!..... #dishonestywillgetyounowhere

They were Excellent! They did the repair for the price quoted and had it done in 4 days. I live in Downers grove and my S.U.V broke down at lakeshore and 35th,..After speaking with a couple shops and input from some friends it was easy to choose city wide cause he quoted both worse case and best case scenarios,, Mine was definatly on the worse side, but he gave me options and worked with my budget. I new everything up front...and in the end it was less than what other shops had quoted...Also, they were very helpful in getting me a ride home. I would recommend City wide to any one . Thank you Tatiana and Vince, you guys were great!

I had my 2004 Toyota Siena towed to that shop on 3/27/2017 for some transmission issues, got a call three days later that nothing was wrong with the transmission but needed a lower control arm replacement, total cost was $ 837.85 ,transmission started acting up a week or so later, car is now not running due to the transmission, and if I would have been informed that the transmission couldnt be repaired I would not have paid $ 837.85 for some useless auto repair, they beat me out of my hard earned money, I will be contacting the bbb about it!!!

We were recommended to Citywide Transmission by a neighbor. Being new to the area we were unfamiliar and not established with a auto shop. We were very impressed. Everyone was extremely friendly, personable, trustworthy, and honest. We never once felt like we were being ripped off or over charged. They even mentioned they would be calling in one week to check in with us and see how the car was doing. Vince and John worked on our car and were friendly and very knowledgable. Tatiana checked us out at the front desk and was super friendly as well:)

Very professional. Ive brought two different vehicles here and both times they figured out the problems correctly the first time. Good Workmanship and have the attitude that there is no sense in creating more work for themselves by screwing a customer because there are enough cars in need of a good mechanic anyways.

I first went to City Wide transmission about 20 years ago. I have been back a few times since. most recently May 2013, and the service is still great. I know about cars and Vince at City Wide is honest and prices are resonable. I recommend City Wide for all car repairs.

Vince and Crew are master mechanics. Ive been going to them for years and have always received GREAT service. Vince explains exactly whats wrong with your vehicle and quotes the most fair price I have ever gotten. Highly recommended to all!!!
