Ive used CarX for a number of years, and this particular location has some of the best mechanics in the area. Bob, the manager, is always looking for the simplest solution to an often complex problem, and seems to suggest the lowest-cost method to address the issue. Ive often been asked how long I plan on keeping the car before a recommendation is made on what to fix now, and what to save for later. Thats important to me and shows how much they care about you, rather than making a quick buck as with so many other experiences Ive had at other service locations. Ive had brake jobs, a/c repair and other general work done here for many cars, new and used, and the quality has always been top-notch. And Im talking about several cars over 10 years old, often which got over 200k miles with regular service here. Keep up the great work guys, and thanks for looking out for the customer. Its hard to build a level of trust with customers when it comes to auto repair, you are definitely doing the right thing with your customer-centric approach. -- Paul Y.

I brought my car in about 15 months ago to get an oil change and received a call from them, frantic, telling me I needed to replace my breaks and that it would cost me $220. I initially said yes but was driving to WI and would see my dad and my sisters father-in-law (who happens to be a mechanic) so I decided to hold off and get their opinion. I am glad I did! They both agreed my breaks were barely worn and I had a good year or more on them. I have a Honda CRV and actually brought my car in to the Honda dealership 6 months later for a repair and had them check my breaks -- they agreed they were fine. Here we are, 15 months later and still no need for new breaks when the guy at Car-X told me I had *maybe* 500 miles before they gave out completely. I am bringing my car back there because I got a Groupon for a full-service check, tire rotation and oil changing. I cant wait to hear what they think my car needs now... So yes, good for oil changes but I do not trust their recommendations for repairs!

Weve gone here for about two years, but we are through. Our old car had a lot of problems, so we were more willing to shake our heads and pay for the fixes, but with our new car, we are always surprised to find that every time we come in, the mechanic insists that something needs fixed THAT DAY. The mechanic consistently talks to me like Im a two-year-old, trying to scare me into MAJOR, EXPENSIVE repairs by telling me that "something could happen at any moment, while youre driving." This last time, during an oil change, he told me that my tires were bad, and that they were going to cost $800 to replace. After declining to have them changed, he filled out a form that said the tires were in "good condition." We recently took our car to a new mechanic, less than a month after our last oil change, and he said the oil was incredibly dirty and that it looked like it hadnt been cleaned or changed. We will never go back to this store.

Top notch service! Quality place. Ive taken two different cars here over the last few years and each time service was completed quickly and to a high standard of quality. The prices are very reasonable and they owner is straightforward and trustworthy. The first time I took my old car here it was after it had failed the emissions test. The Car-X mechanics noticed right away that the exhaust on my car was not the proper size for my vehicle and that something was off about the on-board sensor/computer(previous maintenance from another place was done improperly). They replaced everything pretty quickly and took the car for the emissions test themselves to boot! After that quality service anytime i have an issue with my vehicles I take them to this Car-X. I know whatever they need to do will be done well, quickly, and to last. Id trust them with any car.

I have never written a review about anyone or anything in my entire life until now. If I had a bull horn I would shout to anyone who is in need of car repair to come to Car-X on Western and Foster ! ! ! You will be greeted by the nicest man on the planet! I call him Bob other customers may call him Robert anyway this is my third time coming and every time I bring my car in for any needed repairs, everything is always clearly explained to me what needs to be done. The job is always done properly, professionally, with reasonable wait time at a very reasonable price , and the whole experience is just so calm and pleasant! Much thanks to Bob for his brilliant customer service skills! And much thanks to the hard working mechanics there ! For the rest of my cars life I will be taking it to Car-X for any repairs! This place is a winner people !

I took my Nissan Altima to Car-X after an oil change at the Nissan dealer, where they told me I needed to repair an exhaust leak which they - for some reason - dont perform. While there they told me my oil pan was leaking and would cost $190 to repair. I declined the offer and mentioned it to the mechanic (Bob) at Car-X. I was surprised when he called me into the service bay and showed me that the oil pan was as dry as a bone! Those ripoff artists at the dealership were trying to fool me out of money for no reason, and I suppose Car-X could have done the same. Instead, I left with a repaired exhaust ( they werent lying about that! ) feeling awesome that there are sill ethical folks out there.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I should have known better when my friend said they messed up her car beyond all repair when she had it fixed there, but I bought a Groupon thinking itd be a good deal. WRONG. I was conjoled into not getting the tire rotation because "the front tires were the better ones" which I later found out to be a lie, and they charged me an extra 6 bucks because my wiper blade was SHORTER than usual. So, yeah, I just paid $35 for two blades and an oil change. Crooks! You better believe I will never go back there again...

I just got home from Car X and my experience was exceptional! I have used this location multiple times and I have yet to be unhappy with the service I have received. As a young, single woman I have commonly been treated disrespectfully by mechanics. However, this is not the case at Car X! I have always been treated with respect and received great customer service. I have never felt as if I was being cheated or ripped off. This location has been absolutely great and I look forward to continuing my business with them.

I consider myself very fortunate to have Bob and his crew at this Car X location as my go-to mechanic shop. As an Uber driver, I find myself in here quite a bit for various things and have always been happy with the exceptional level of service, knowledge, and professionalism they show everytime. So many other shops try to nickel and dime every little thing and take advantage of people, but these guys are always honest and fair. They simply do it the right way and I would recommend them to anyone.
