I do not recommend this auto shop. I stopped in for an oil change because they were close to my house; left with a quote to perform recommended repairs over $1,000. Whenever I see a large estimate like this, I always get a second opinion; my regular mechanic in Libertyville inspected my vehicle based on the recommendations from CARS and the resulting work needed cost me $155 instead of $1000. (My vehicle needed a single front strut replaced; CARS quoted me for $1000 of front/rear suspension work.) This leads me to question the motivations/integrity of those working at this location. Regarding the quality of my oil change: The service technician failed to reset my vehicles on-board maintenance/service reminder system, so soon after my oil change, I started receiving flashing notifications on my dash that I was hundreds of miles overdue for oil/filter service. When at the Libertyville mechanics shop, we discovered that the oil cap had not been sufficiently tightened following the change--it was only very loosely screwed on and in danger of falling off.

Every time that I have brought my car to CARS of America I have been totally satisfied. I am very pleased to hear that they have opened a shop in Evanston since I have many friends that live in Evanston that I can tell ab out great car service. I have talked to Brian and I know he has gone to Evanston to make sure there is the same high quality that Glenview has always provided. You dont have to know a great deal about fixing cars, like me, to know if you are getting a good deal its a guarantee as I have never heard of anyone complaining. I do know a great many people who use Cars of America and they have all been happy.

I chose CARS for the reviews and I will use CARS again to service my 2013 Jetta for their friendly, straightforward customer service. I was pleasantly surprised by being offered a loaner car to do errands while they checked my cars check engine light. Although it was a minor fix, everything was clearly explained in a respectful, courteous manner. I strongly recommend CARS in Evanston!!

Had a furry creature crawl into my car engine and die. Brian made room to accommodate me last-minute before closing (the smell was terrible!), located the animal, and thoroughly cleaned out the engine and the underside of my car. Brian, Sam, and the rest of the guys are polite and professional, and I felt totally at ease here. This will definitely be the shop I go to until I graduate!

The service I received at CARS was top notch. The mechanic rode with me in my car to observe the problem first hand. After they took a closer look at my car, I was given a clear explanation of the repairs needed. Then, I was provided with a courtesy car to use while my car was being repaired. Finally, all of the personnel were very pleasant to work with. I recommend CARS.
