Lucid Realty was a great option for our new home purchase. We heard about the commission rebate model and pay-as-you-go realtor options but didn’t know anyone who took the plunge. We knew it was a viable option for experienced home buyers like us, especially because we did months of independent research (Trulia/Zillow) and 30+ open house visits on our own. Our price range was $1.5M+. We hoped this option would put a lot of rebate money back into our pockets (vs to a realtor commission) if everything we researched was true. We interviewed Sari and decided to engage Lucid Realty. She assigned Marco Mejia to us. Marco was a pro’s pro and knew the Chicago market. We shared our search specs with him and defined four specific properties we wanted to see in person. Marco coordinated the appointments and joined our go/no-go debates. Property four of four turned out to be “the one” – and he helped us negotiate ~ $90K off the list price. In fact, he pushed us to ask for two additional price reductions (which we got) using comps and common sense to drive the negotiation. We were thrilled with the outcome, Marco and Lucid Realty. Marco and Lucid Realty remained diligent for us up thru closing. I believe the pay-as-you-go model incentivized realtor interest throughout the purchase process. I’ve heard MANY realtor negligence stories once the buy process hits this step … the realtor knows a commission check is coming and loses interest. This model incentivizes customer service. In fact, the selling realtor disappeared on us after our deal was negotiated but Marco did not. He remained aggressive, diligent and helped cover for the lack of customer service the selling realtor did not provide. I’m glad we did our homework. At closing, we walked away with a $45K+ rebate check to purchase new furniture/home items. We couldn’t be happier and happily endorse both Lucid Realty and Marco Mejia.

We worked with Gary for buying our very first home. He was amazing and extremely patient. We looked for apartments back in 2014 with Gary but dropped out due to personal reasons but when we started looking again in 2015 we knew Gary was the only realtor we wanted helping us. He was patient with us and gave great advice. He has been doing this for a while so he knows Chicago better than any real estate agent I know. As an architect I was specific and very detail oriented so he had his job cut out for him but he was patient and found us the perfect apartment in downtown. Gary was great! Provided all kinds of useful advice, never pushed anything on us, and never tried to talk us out of anything. But after a couple trips looking at houses, we knew that we liked the advice he was giving us. Great service and a rebate on the fee. Absolutely wonderful (and we still read his posts on real estate in Chicago).
