As many of us know, East Lakeview is a neighborhood with a small town feel. Tech Shield fits in perfectly. Its more like bringing your computer over to your friends house, but your friend actually knows what they are doing and is able to explain it on your level! You might even get a lesson, which will benefit you in the long run! Ask away about your technology woes and they are more than willing to answer and listen patiently. It really gives you a piece of mind considering all the important information we are trusting IT to access. Quick, hassle-free and friendly! Never losing any information and knowing you dont have to deal with arrogant,expensive, geek-squad types. Never leaving with a problem unresolved over the past 3+ years! I cant ask for more! The other reviews with negative reviews seem to be a lack of patience or clear understanding as to how computers need to be fixed. To not hear back sounds very unlike them. I also think waiting 2 weeks and not hearing and not reaching out is a mistake not only on Techshield (if this is even true) and the individual. If your computer were so important to you - why would you not check up on it yourself? I think that was a post based on anger towards themselves for letting a problem go for so long.

I live around the area and had to go to the store. Well I see this store and think "wow I should bring my laptop here so I can get it fixed". Well I take my laptop there and I give them two weeks. I called to see what was up and they said told me he needed to contact their supplier and if I take my laptop out of there shop I would have to pay a deposit. Ideally you would think if they had someones computer for that long they would give a courtsey call or something. Well I didnt get that... Three weeks had past and finally I was just over it and ready to just take it somewhere else. I still did not get a phone call. It would have been nice for them to tell me that they are trying to look for the parts I needed... Just something. Because it didnt make any sense to me as to why u would hold onto someones machine for this long and not shoot an email or something. So I just walked up into that store took my machine and left. And I saw ten other computers there and I just wanted to say go somewhere else they wont call. No way I was going to pay a deposit for u to not even do your job. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Unbelievably great. I panicked when my PC laptop started acting up... I was in the final throes of a huge project and couldnt afford to lose anything... including my time. I called late at night and left a message for Daniel after reading about him on Yelp. He got back to me first thing the next day and -- after having me check a few things -- determined I needed to replace my old hard drive. While I was bringing the laptop to him, he secured another higher-capacity drive and was set to go when I arrived. I left the laptop with him overnight and it was ready the next morning. It works better than ever... plus I have a much bigger drive. The price for the whole thing was very reasonable... in fact, much better than I had dared hope. Ive already emailed all my friends about Daniel... hes a keeper!

It only took a few hours waiting at nearby starbucks to find out after a free diagnostic with Tech Shield & Repair why my 2011 macbook was no longer turning on. And just a day later is was fixed and processing faster than when I first got it. The staff provided very fast service and were graciously informative regardless of how many questions I asked. I definitely feel that the money I paid for the new parts and services was well spent, and plan to go back if any other problems arise. It was a way better experience than what Ive had with Apple and their mad genius bar.

This is the second time Ive gone to Tech Shield. They are so willing to make the customer happy, and they dont gouge you. Not to mention-- I went to the Apple store first, knowing how expensive it would be. Apples tech people were just vague about the problem-- kept saying my Macbook Pro was too "vintage" and I felt like they only wanted to sell me a new laptop. In under a minute at Tech Shield, they knew what the problem was, replaced the drive and had it ready the next day. Theyre pros.

Have used these guys twice and had a great experience both times. The owner is a super nice and genuine guy who gave me a number of options both times for my desktop problems. You can tell he is not trying to sell you something you dont need and didnt automatically push his most expensive products on me. Both times my PC was back up and running on the same day I dropped it off and actually cost me less than I thought it would. I will definitely be back.

DO NOT USE. These people had my PC for over 2 weeks. My PC crashed, they told me they could retrieve the data, 1 terabyte. DJ called no less than 4 times asking the same question, "Do you want the data saved to an external hard drive?". Every time I remained calm and said yes. I picked up the drive, took it home, and... NOTHING. No files were recovered, they have not answered the phone... AAAUUUUGGGGGHHHHHH!

Superlative service!! I brought my old Vista PC in for a diagnosis. Had to reboot 3-4 times just to get it operating. Dropped it at Tech late Monday afternoon. By the next afternoon, was ready for pickup. They cleaned it up, saved the data, removed Vista and installed Windows 7, and added virus protection software. Works like a charm. Highly recommend this business.

These guys ruined my computer. After my windows crashed. Nothing works on it. My volume is out, my computer is incredibly slower. They screwed me over and I paid 125 dollars to get rape. Its unbelievable. Oh and I have Tech Shield symbol on my computer, which I didnt have before I brought in. Nice.

I dropped off my cracked MBA at 12:15 today and had a call at 2:00pm that it was ready to be picked up. Kind of amazing. Price was reasonable and the service was pleasant -- I dont know what else I could ask for. Great local business, glad to have them in the neighborhood.

Brought my laptop here twice for repairs. Second time took a bit longer, as a new part needed to be ordered - which got delayed. When all was said and done, they returned it to me free of charge! Good service, great place to bring your laptop.
