I never thought renting a storage unit would be described as a "wonderful" experience - but thats exactly what it was when we recently visited Extra Space Storage in Deerfield. Derrick met with us, thoroughly explained the details of the operation, showed us the unit we had reserved online and promised it would be spotless when we came back to finish the paperwork and move in our belongings. The best part was that he did all this with an enthusiasm rarely seen these days. He made us feel like our possessions were just as important to him as they are to us. Afterwards, I had lunch with a friend who told me there were a few storage facilities located closer to where we live and I should check those out. But, because of Derricks enthusiasm and pride in his job and facility, I told her I felt that we had found the right location. Sure enough - on the day of the move the unit was ready and spotless, as promised. The movers suggested we take some old sheets or something to use on the floors and to protect our things because "these places can be kinda nasty." Just in case, we grabbed some plastic tarps, but they were unnecessary. We couldnt have been happier with the unit - and again, Derrick was there to assist, answer questions and explain how everything worked. We highly recommend this location if you need storage of any kind. And the world need more Derrick Pratts!!

4.5 Stars....We had a positive experience using this location so far. Location is clean, secure and efficient. A++both staff members (5/17/2014). George greeted us & gave us a guided tour of the units on a golf cart. He was personable, informative & followed up with a phone call to see if we had any more questions. No multiple/stalking follow-up calls like the other storage places we inquired about. We chose this location because of the staff, location, clean secure lighted united & rate. However there was one thing we did not like. We reserved online with a promotion code: 1st month free & move in kit. They told us this did not apply to our 10x10 unit. Not happy. Really needed that free month. They were still lower than the other places. We returned to move-in and a girl was working with George unfortunately can not remember her name (helping out from another location). She was great and personable as well. She helped with our paperless contract, which was quick and easy. Couldnt ask for better customer service. Our unit is convenient to access. 1st time renting storage unit. Made us feel we made the right choice.

Extra Space Storage in Deerfield has been the most positive experience I have had in a very long time. Derrick Pratt, the facility manager, could not have been more kind and helpful. He took us on a tour of the facility, outlined how everything would work, clearly explained the contract to us and got us all set up for the move in. This place is spotless! Well lit. Bug-free. You cant even find a cobweb in a corner. It is also very secure. I felt that my belongings were well protected and that I was very safe each time I visited the facility. Derrick goes out of his way to make everything easy for the customer. He responds immediately to phone calls and questions. The paperwork is electronic. He can extend a contract with a phone call and always follows up by e-mail. Derrick makes sure that moving dollies and door stops are standing by on your move in and move out dates, something I didnt even think to ask about! I felt that Derrick cared about protecting my possessions as much as I did. Thank you, Derrick, for all of your help! I will recommend this facility to everyone.

In this world today People thinks that now one have any compassion or should i say have now sympathy,but i do now that there is always good and bad in every situtation. well in the every day busy life we are quick to talk about the bad things but very few people stop to give compliment for the good people dose,Well i want to acknowledge these great people to do business with ,and they are no other than the Extra Space Storage group of people Derrick T.Pratt and his Partner that work on 5/29/2014 ,the complete staff .they are to be recognize because of their act of kindness and their people handling skill these guys are in an exceptional categories and i thanks them for being competent and courtious to me on a day when everything was going wrong with me .Thanks again and may god bless you and your company and i hope my comment will help you to gain more attributes in the future ,also your boss giving you an higher achievement.

I had reserved space online. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the storage facility is clean and nicely maintained. However, there were a couple of items that I was not that happy about: 1-The price that I ended up paying was a little higher than what I had reserved online (only off by a couple of dollars, but it was still different); 2-They had told me that insurance was mandatory, so you will need to add about $10 extra for insurance (not sure if it varies by storage space); 3-There was a rate increase after 6 months of renting. The increase was about $5 more, but who knows if they will keep increasing the prices. Overall, the price is still lower than many other storage facilities so Ive stayed with this facility. I havent have any problems with my unit and its been convenient to access my unit.

Ive been storing everything I own for more than 2 years at this location. Im now moving east and will be leaving this week. I have to say, this has been a better experience than I ever could have imagined thanks to Derrick and his staff. No matter when I walk in the door hes been ready to greet me and see what I needed - and offer his help. He keeps a very clean office and the buildings are always neat and clean. There have been times I needed an extra space so I could spread out and sort thru boxes and hes been extremely helpful in finding me the best options. Derrick is a credit to Extra Space Storage! Id like to add my personal thanks to him for all his assistance with my storage needs over the past two years!

I have been in and out of storage units for basically my entire life. I recently had to get another storage bin and went to the Extra Storage in Deerfield. I arrived and the store manager Derrick opened the door to let me into the office. Wow. I have never experienced that before. Derricks customer service was nothing short of astonishing. He introduced me to the assistant manager Matt. All 3 of us went on their golf cart to go check out some spaces. Both Derrick and Matt were extremely knowledgeable and helpful in helping me decide the size and type of bin I needed. I would recomend the place to anyone and everyone. Derrick and Matt are second to none in every aspect of the business. Thank you for your help you guys!!

I will never fI shopped the local competitors near my home for a storage unit for the very first time. The other storage companies were fine, but lacked information and units were kind of dirty. But when I walked into Extra Storage Place, Derrick the manager greeted me with enthusiasm. He was patient, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and concerns. Plus the whole property was spotless. I could immediately tell Derrick, the manager, takes pride in his place of business. It was refreshing to find a dedicated employee who knew every facet of the storage industry. Superior customer service and attention detail I received from Derrick. Just outstanding service. He definitely takes pride in his work.
