I would NEVER ever recommend this mechanic. Just on the subject of the work done it did not fix the problem and most likely was not needed. Not only did it not fix the problem, but it was worse than before! The work done was $550 of absolute worthless garbage I didnt need. This mechanic also is extremely expensive. They put in a used part that costed me over $150 for the part alone NO WORK...you can easily find the part online for <$30. Now onto the next problem the man I talked to(I believe the owner...yikes) was rude and unprofessional. When talking about a possible repair needed he constantly used scare tactics to pressure you into the repair. When I questioned a certain repair he got angry and basically told me my car was not going to run in the winter if I didnt repair it. After taking it to another mechanic they didnt know what he was talking about. He tries to talk to you about all the repairs and educate you for one reason...to gain your trust and take advantage of you. If you come here I assure you one or two things will happen. You will get unnecessary repairs and/or you will pay way more than if you went somewhere else. After leaving Kamphaus my care barely made it home without breaking down and the engine light coming back on. Upset I asked to be called the next day about it and NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. Absolute garbage costumer service right there. Unfortunately it refused to start the next day and I was forced to get it towed to a new mechanic. Firestone checked out my car and got it back up and running for $80 on cheap repairs Kamphaus apparently couldnt find. As stated before the repair Kamphaus insisted on me getting was no where to be found. So do the smart thing and go somehwere that wont disrespect you, over price parts, not even fix the car, and refuse to call you back. DO NOT CONTACT ME KAMPHAUS

I brought my car in here last week because my car didn’t pass emissions. I needed to have it pass emissions before I could get my vehicle registration updated. One of the greatest things about them is that they offer a free loner. It’s not a luxury car but honestly, who cares. My car was with them for about a week, so they saved me at least $300-$400 in rental car expenses. They constantly kept me updated on the status of the vehicle and repairs. They were very detailed in their explanation of what was wrong and what needed to be done to fix the car. Rob, the guy at the front desk who always answered the phone when I called, was always very helpful and detailed in explaining everything to me. He’s upbeat and very friendly on the phone, which definitely helps when you’re dropping a ton of cash on car repairs. Rob has great customer service! When the car was done, they called to let me know, but said I would have to drive the car for a few days before I could go to emissions. I explained that the car’s registration expired while it was in the shop and I was afraid of getting pulled over and getting a ticket when the registration wasn’t up to date. When I got to the shop to pick up the car, they notified me that they had their technician drive the car around for a while to try and get the sensors to trigger (or something like that) so the car could pass emissions, plus the technician took the car to the emissions place, got it to pass and brought it back. Saved me a trip. On top of that, they were able to get my car registered..which saved me ANOTHER trip. This is a solid shop with great people working there! They definitely have my business!

My 2007 Toyota Rav4 suddenly showed a strange high pitch noise under the hood. I went Kamphaus auto care for a free inspection. Mr.Rich Kamphaus, one of the most friendly men among the auto repair industry, checked the suv and immediately diagnosed the problem with the alternator. Scheduled the repair for the same day and he gave me a free loner car to drive until the work has done. This is my third experience with them. Prices are comparable with other auto repair shops. You may get cheaper prices somewhere else. But here the difference is this..... you will get a free diagnosis and free estimate, also free loner car if needed, the staff are professional and Mr.Rich is extremely friendly and responsible. They stand for their repair warranty. My suv shows a strange low "tick, tick" noise from the steering column, when turning the car in parking lots or at very slow speed. He checked and correctly diagnosed it too. He explained to me by showing a diagram of the steering system and he did not insist a repair which causes $475. He could have insist a repair and make some money, but he explained it as a minor issue and no problem with the function or the safety of the car under normal safe driving. It was very nice to hear !!!

Terrible experience with these guys. They charged extra for unnecessary and unsolicited items. gave me different brand lower performing tires than the ones i already had. They had told me on the phone they were getting Firestone Destination LE but gave me Cooper CS3. (lower mileage and worse traction) The price looks like the gave me the more expensive ones though. They also charged for battery cleaning of my old battery when they were supposed to give me a new battery anyway. Double dipping at its finest. They kept the car for days longer than originally promised forcing me to have to pay for a rental for those extra days as well. They failed to ever communicate with me about timeframe changes. This was my first and last experience with these guys. They billed me $3600 and only offered a 100 discount on a bill that size and had no explanation for their actions other than it is what it is. Rude and unprofessional. Read your bills carefully and hopefully you understand what you are getting instead of what they are telling you.

I needed a small section of solid brake hose for my wifes Ford Taurus that has rusted and twisted when I was bleeding the brakes on the rear. Its not a piece that you can just go run out to a parts place and pick up and Meineke wouldnt touch it for liability reasons. Needless to say I was in a pickle and stopped in here on the way home to see if they could help.... Their answer.. DEFINITELY! Staff was VERY polite in assisting me. I left the old twisted piece with them at the front desk and a tech said that he would call me when the new line was ready. I went out to grab a quick bite with my wife down the street and before I knew it they were calling and said it was ready. I picked it up and it looked great and they were more than reasonable for the price of materials and labor to fabricate it. I do most of my maintenance myself, but from this one experience I would take either of our vehicles here for whatever I cant fix in the garage. VERY FRIENDLY and knowledgable staff at the right price. What more can you ask for?

I want to say that this shop is unlike most. Rich is a good guy with fair prices willing to work with you. They explain things well and from my experiences, they do great work. Not to mention they stand by their work with a warranty. I give this 5 stars because I have never had a problem and their customer service is TOP notch. They do the little things that matter. I brought 3 different vehicles to them on 5 spereate instances. I have had them work on my 96 Mustang Hot Rod. I don’t trust many people touching it. Sam worked on it and did a really clean job - Replaced valve covers and cleaned a high performance fuel filter. They also did some custom drilling and grinding work for me. Replaced a driver’s side exhaust manifold and egr tube as well as the U Joints on my 97 F150. They are now servicing all my fluids, Brake, Coolant, Trans, Transfer case, and both diffs. All in all you won’t find a better overall shop. You may find equivalent but not better.
