This was my third visit from ARS, 1st. time was not good as my furnace was not that old at all. I mean it was only 1 1/2 years old and it was during the winter and there was alot of snow and it was very cold and lots of snow drifting. Well the furnace is a 95% efficient one and the is a exhaust and a fresh air intake. they were only about 1 1/2 foot above ground level. so furnace kept cutting out and would not keep running. so when the guy finally showed up he came in and went downstairs by the furnace and saw flashing codes on circuit board. He turned off furnace power and opened cabinet door and turned it back on and it stayed running with no problem. so he put the door back on and it quit working right after he put it on. He said the fresh air intake was blocked. so we both went outside and he said there is the problem. He took the door off and let it heat up downstairs to thaw out the air intake pipe. The 2nd time the man came out and he cleaned the air conditioner coil outside and he checked amperage and voltage and freon pressures and also changed air filter and said it was good until winter. The 3rd time is when Dan Hernandez (Dan H379) came out and first thing he did was turn up heat so furnace would turn on then he went downstairs and he turned off power to furnace and removed covers. He then hooked up a pressure gauge to check pressure from regulator. and he also checked flame sensor and voltages from blower motor for circulating warm air thruout house. and also other blower motor for burner and voltages were great. He then checked tempurature in main plenum and he check air filter that i just changed a couple of days ago and said it was fine and then he opened humidifier and said water pad needed to be replaced. he was very thorough with wiping things down that were dirty. So I know the next time i have annual furnace or air conditioner checkup done i am requesting Dan for my service from now on. i am so glad i found someone that was so thorough with job being down. He was very knowledgeable! I am in the construction field so I know a lot more than your usual person. THANKS DAN H.

Ive had mixed results with ARS. They came out for a water heater maintenance call and I was 100% satisfied with the service. Recently I called them back for a service call on my Air Conditioner - $95 service call. The problem was initially diagnosed as a bad starter (aka compressor saver). The cost of the part seemed a bit excessive (over 300), but I didnt really have a better option, so I okd the installation. After the part was installed, the AC still wouldnt easily kick on, so the tech proceeded to check the compressor. After looking it over, the tech told me that based on the condition of the connection to the compressor, it likely wouldnt survive the summer ("I bet it gives out at the first 90 degree day of the summer"). So, he then cleaned up the connection and tried again. The AC kicked on and ran for less than 5 minutes, before we hear a pop and the compressor blew up. Given the age of the compressor (13 years) and the lack of fix options, the tech recommended a new AC unit at that time. After all of this, I was left with a completely dead air conditioner and a brand new compressor saver...they charged me ~$369 in total for this service, after discounts (had to sign up for their monthly service plan). Had the compressor been properly diagnosed as the root cause of the problem, I imagine the compressor saver would have never been installed. It seems to me that the fair resolution would have been to only charge me for the service call, but thats not what happened. To their benefit, after reaching out to their customer service team to voice my displeasure, they did refund me half the charge. I think Ill be looking elsewhere for my future needs. After posting my original review above, ARS did reach out to me and promised to refund the original charges, minus the cost of the service charge of $95. Since they did take the time to resolve my issue, Ive upped their rating from 2 stars to 3 stars.

John Casey came, on time and immediately displayed a friendly, down to earth, confident demeanor. He introduced himself and went to work. He was servicing our A/C unit. He checked our air-cleaner on the furnace, He went outside to the unit and checked the electronic and electric readings, cleaned the air flow intake fins with a water hose, inside and out. But the thing that caught my full attention was that he removed the fan assembly and he cleaned out a lot of old, rotted leaves and debris that had accumulated for the past nine years, inside the unit, SOMETHING THAT NO ONE ELSE HAD ATTEMPTED TO DO, DURING PRIOR SERVICE CALLS! He also discussed how the fan and compressor were both overheating and drawing more current than they should. This is a nine year old unit and just a contractors model. It is NOT heavy duty. Ordinarily I would think they were just trying to sell me something I may not need, however, Johns demeanor showed that he was just being honest, as he explained that we didnt have to change or buy anything now, but, in the future we should not be surprised if our A/C quit. I am a sales and service individual and I can usually spot someone not being forthright, John is not that type of personality. I liked him, liked his approach, his thoroughness and his honesty. This all shows through as you spend a bit of time with John. I would have John back, anytime, to service our A/C, Water Heater and Furnace needs. In fact, I would ask that only John be our ARS tech Rep. for ALL our service needs in the future. Im not easily pleased, But John did please me. ARS should be praised for the quality of the service reps they hire.

Last year my shower knob was not turning and water was keep running so I called ARS for service and the guy came out same day and replaced knob with chrome handle and the job was finished within 10 minutes and he charged me $288.20. I think this is over charged, but I didnt know better. Last week they contacted me and saying that theyll be around my area and ask me for furnace tune-up service, its $129.00, but they are offering some kind of discout or something and say theyll charge $89.00. So I said okay and they came out early this week and the guy told me theres crack on my heat exchanger. He was using samll camera to check and he showed to me, but the screen was blurry and there was a line, but it doesnt look like a crack to me. He push me to replace the furnace and he shut down gas and electric. Then, he called the office and schedule for furnace estimate. So estimating guy came out same day evening and give us a estimate on new furnace. I wasnt totally convinced that theres a crack on the h.ex, so I got a second opinion and he came out and vaccum the burner and check the h.ex and he didnt find any holes and cracks on the h.ex. He only replaced thermocouple. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH ARS! Theyll deceive and rip you off especially if you are woman and old man or woman they think that you dont know better. STAY AWAY!!!!!!
