I would give this place a negative 5 stars if allowed. I wanted to rent a Climate Controlled Unit and I did thinking everything was good. When I think of climate controlled I think of low moisture levels and medium humidity. The units themselves are not secure at all. The partitions in the unit that separate each unit DO NOT reach the ceiling. Your belongings are not secure. I visited my unit while it was raining and there was water coming into my Climate Controlled Unit. The old cinder block walls are leaky and water actually comes in. I called the 800 number as it was after hours. The assistant Manager came out to assist me. Remind you I had only been there 2 days. He told me that even though the building leaks its still considered Climate Controlled. I then asked for a refund as I believe that is false advertisement. He said He WOULD NOT give me a Refund. I moved my stuff out immediately. I also am contacting Corporate office because I dont think this is good business manners. This review is real and if I was You I would stay clear of this place.

This was the first time I had ever rented storage space in the USA and I was very apprehensive. Fortunately the experience was absolutely brilliant and the staff (and their advice) was of the highest quality. Initially, I was amazed at how clean and new everything looked - my previous experience with storage facilities in Europe was very different! The facility itself is very secure but its still easy to get access pretty much whenever you want. The unit was well lit with timed magnetic doors and complimentary trolleys to make the moving in/out very easy and convenient. The complimentary dumpster was a god-send as we had loads of debris from our move across the Atlantic and it was really appreciated. We had the unit for 6 months and it was outstanding value for money and when it came time to move out, a call was all it took to close everything off. All in all a very pleasurable experience and I would wholeheartedly recommend Extra Space Storage to my family and friends.

The site is clean. The buildings seem to be in good condition. But thats the end of the good for me They say you get a free month but when you get there they ambush you with fees. They had an internet and two phone contacts when they could have relayed these to me ahead of my arrival. They chose not to. First was required insurance. I have renters insurance. It would have been an easy thing to arrange for this in advance. Instead they wanted to charge me $24 for the privilege of having them insure me over night while I got my insurance approved. Then theres the surprise $24 "administration" you fee. Just an underhanded way to pretend theyre giving you a free month when they really are not. After I got that hassle out of the way I drove around to where my unit is located. Before I got there theyd sent me a text asking for a review. Obnoxious and premature. They probably should have given me time to stop being angry about the weasley way they dumped the fees on me.

I would highly recommend this facility! The staff is extremely helpful and so nice. I really liked that I was able to view my space and the grounds before moving in. Also, I received reminder calls. When youre moving trying to remember everything that needs to get done is next to impossible! When I first called I was asked questions to make sure that I was getting the best space for my particular needs. I was also taken to my space and was shown how to get in the building and my space, how to get in the gates. Any questions I could have had were answered before I had a chance to ask them! I had called a couple of other storage facilities before finding Extra Space Storage and the people I spoke with were rude and I almost felt as if I was a bother. The facility and grounds are extremely clean and that is very important to me. I wouldnt use any other facility for future storage needs.

I was having a horrible day with the moved the truck I was going to use wasnt working so I had to rent a Uhaul at the last moment. Anyway I was running way behind and I needed to be at the storage unit by 5pm to sign paper work but I was coming from Wisconsin. I called them to let them I wouldnt be able to make it because I would be there alittle past 5pm. They told me to come anyway and that they would wait for me so I wouldnt have to wait till Monday to bring my things because they werent open on Sunday. I ran into traffic and got there almost at 5:30 one of the employees was still waiting for me. He also took the time to show me the unit, was very polite and helpful. I would Definitely recommend this place!

Wow....how things have changed. I once had the opportunity to train assistant MGR/ to Manager when the companys name STORAGE USA year 2001/ Mr. K. as regional manager was great. Observed my work, answered all my questions. My amazing managers at the time were Kelly & John Butts. Why I didnt remain with the company? I applied to another line of work. All the MGR STAFF were more than willing to recommend me for my new position. After all, they groomed me to become an exceptional manager. They were great,& patient and respectful. Nothing g further to add. Wish everyone a grateful 2017!!!!!!!!!! just be grateful Gil

Ive been at this facility for roughly 2 years. I really love the place. Its clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I dont come here regularly so there were times that I forgot my rental number. The staff were very helpful and assisted me. When I was looking for a place to store my items, Extra Space Storage had the most friendly service when I called. They answered all my questions and helped me pick a unit that best fit my needs.

Was looking for a storage place to keep things before I moved. Mike K. helped us out, gave us a tour and was very friendly and personable. It ended up that we did not have to utilize a storage space because our home sold in 6 days but I have and will continue to recommend to my friends. Good customer service is what will keep you coming back to that establishment....

The staff at Extra Space Storage in Joliet were very helpful in helping me find a storage unit that was a right fit for me and my family. They even held the unit for me while I shopped around. Really like the staff and facility. Always clean and staff is always very helpful. I would recommend this storage facility to anyone wanting to store their things and not have to worry if its going to be taken care of. And its so easy to get stuff in and out because staff is always on site to let you in. Very happy!

Wow! We went in there this morning to get a storage unit. Unit availability was very limited. Staff went above and beyond to get us into a space and with reasonable pricing. They were very accommodating and friendly. We are extremely grateful they were able to help us....with a smile on their faces too!
