I have had two previous repairs performed at Libertyville Auto Body (LAB), but the third was a horrible experience. The repair was suppose to take a couple weeks. This stretched into months first due to them being unable to find a bumper from Nissan. After a month of them trying, they called and said they couldnt do it anymore and it was up to me to talk with Nissan and find the status of the bumper. After one call with Nissan, Nissan determined the problem was due to having the wrong part number. LAB stated they called for a month and was never able to get an update. I have a problem with this incompetence. Who calls Nissan for a month and never gets a straight answer and ACCEPTS failure 30-40 days in a row? Who actually sits on a phone and calls with the same question and accepts the same answer? Only a serial loser would continue to make a call knowing with high probability the answer will always remain the same and always ACCEPTS the failure. What business would not reply back to Nissan and say "That answer is not acceptable. We both have a customer that has been waiting an enormous amount of time and we need to provide a legitimate answer." I was able to push for an answer in one call. It appears LAB used a dealer to purchase the bumper. How can a dealer not have the ability to call THEIR manufacture and demand an answer? They do millions of dollars in biz and I am just a little consumer. LAB failed miserably to problem solve. Eventually we received the bumper. I voiced my concerns for having to wait an additional month+ due to their incompetence. That was a month of bills including a car payment and insurance due to their inability to manage their business. Nissan stepped up and offered me a small amount to cover the inconvenience, but LAB refused to offer anything despite it being a decently sized job around $14k. Fast forward a couple weeks later... I pick up the car and find several very noticeable flaws in the paint. I decided to schedule the car to be repaired again the following week. The next week comes and they actually push me back again stating they cant get to it. I reply back that this customer experience has been absolutely awful and now 10 weeks since the repair started. Again, I stated that its shocking that they dont believe in offering anything for the inconvenience. This time the shop doesnt even bother responding to my dissatisfaction. Fast forward another week or so... I drop the car off again to have ~4 areas repaired. I pick up the car and there are 2 areas that were never fixed! In addition, the bumper now had about 3 scratches on the bumper! One of these was over 6 inches long. The whole repair process has been 11.5 weeks and still has not done correctly. I am not a difficult person and always get annoyed at the obnoxious complainers in stores over trivial things. This has been an awful experience and shocked they would repetitively not respond to costumer emails stating their dissatisfaction. -Everything is accurate here. LAB can contact me if they want to use FACTS and DATA to edit the review.

I took my car in 1.5 weeks ago for a repair assessment and estimate; even though I had a scheduled appointment they told me it could be an hour wait. Luckily (or not....) they got to it right away - telling me that 3X that they would call "no later than Monday to schedule the repair". (3 business days away) Guess what? they never called. according to the insurance company, they also never submitted the estimate for approval. I left a phone message for the estimator, and also Dave the manager (owner?). I never received a return phone call. Why pretend to run a business repairing cars when you dont actually want to repair them. how unprofessional. what a big waste of my time. I presume they really just want to do business with the car dealers in that area. I will never know.

I had multiple repairs done at this shop over the last couple years and always was very satisfied, but today they went above and beyond! Yesterday my car was hit on a parking lot and I expected to be out a couple hundred bucks because the other driver left without leaving a note. So this morning I brought my car to the body shop to get an estimate and after 20 minutes waiting instead of giving me an estimate they already had buffed out the scratches, so the damage is almost gone. When I asked what I owe them she just said: "Nothing. Have a nice day." Needless to say that I will take my future business to Libertyville Auto Body!

Summer is the worst time to have your convertible at the bodyshop because someone forgot to stop at a red light and hit your rear bumper. The folks at Libertyville Autobody repaired my S2000 VERY quickly and after the work I could not tell where I had been hit. I live in Oak Park, but Ill bring my car to Libertyville Autobody any time it needs collision repair. These guys are the best. If the unfortunate happens and you need them, give them a try.

Another rebuilder wanted to total out my 2014 Sonic LT that was hit square on the driver side rear wheel. The insurance company balked, we switched rebuilders to Libertyville Auto Body. Ive now put 2,000 miles on the car since repair and it looks an performs perfectly. Very pleased with their mechanical workmanship and excellent paint work.
