I had a batch of keys made there while I was in Palatine visiting family. A family member referred me to Precision because shed used Mike as a locksmith before and trusted him, and the store is conveniently located. Mike gave me a great deal on the keys. They were finished quickly and all worked perfectly. The apprentice in the shop was nice and friendly as well. Mike is a straightforward and no-nonsense kind of guy. A bit of a gruff exterior, but I definitely left feeling like Id dealt with an honest and knowledgeable local locksmith. Ive heard so many horror stories about "internet locksmiths," and was so relieved to be referred to a local guy with a store. Whenever my office needs keys made, I save them for the next time Im visiting Palatine. Great store!

After trying another "Internet" locksmith (agency hiring freelance technicians, no store, unmarked cars), I called Precision Lock and Safe to remove a somewhat exotic deadbolt lock (and put it on another door). They were able to accommodate me (I was pressed for time) and took care of my deadbolt lock in record time. The other guys who claimed to know the brand where unable to remove it. Precision Lock and Safe are very professional, knowledgeable and charged me less than the other Internet locksmith quoted. I will trust them with all my future lock related needs. Highly recommended.

The owner here at Precision Lock and Safe is 100% honest. They have comparable prices for services and also have pretty much every blank known to the Locksmith world in case someone needs to get a hard to find blank to cut a copy. Out of all of the Palatine area locksmiths, Mike Russel is the ONLY one I found with an actual storefront! Kudos to Mr. Russell for being honest, open and direct in nature, and he does not sugar coat the truth! They did a fabulous job!!! I had been searching and searching for a locksmith all day from elgin all the way out. I was not interested in paying a lot of money for someone to open a small sentry safe I had been carrying around. So sure enough I brought the safe in, she looked over it and bam immediately found the key that would work. I was in and out in 15 minutes. This place knows what theyre doing and they and they want to help people not rip us off in a desperate time of need. They are Reasonably priced as well.

i lost my key so i called for this service they come home and made me key charge me $185 cause its programmed key within 1 week key broke in two part i stop by in store explain what happen they told me they will give me call so i waited for 4 hour and so ... finally they called and said that i have pay another 75+ tax ... i be like nop i will not being stupid again and throw my money worst experience ever batter off to go to dealer because you ending up paying same amount money

Precision Locksmith in Palatine is a shop of high integrity and excellent service for those of us in need of their services. Both Mike and Jane are very knowledgeable in the trade and I would certainly recommend the shop. I had 50 keys made by Jane for car, houses, and businesses and every single key worked!! Jane and Mike were very helpful. Mike has 30+ years of locksmith experience, and it shows in the care he took with helping me. Getting the key for my Honda laser cut onto a blank I ordered off the internet was a quick process. I could not recommend them more. Just be wary of the parking!
