I am very pleased to say that I have found the auto repair facility that I have been looking for for many years! I have an older Jeep Grand Cherokee and it had been making a very loud howling/scraping noise for some time. I took it to a franchise repair shop and they told me it was definitely the rear axle bearings that were bad and that was causing the noise. Well, about $900.00 later, my car still made the same noise. I searched the web and came across Last Chance Auto Repair in Plainfield, IL., and decided to give them a try. I called and spoke with Ron and he said to bring the car in and they would check it out and see what the problem was. I brought it in and Ron said he would get back to me with the information on what was wrong and what would be involved in the repair. Ron called me and told me the problem was in the differential and that the rear axle bearings generally would not cause the noise he heard on the test drive. Ron offered three alternative solutions - replace the differential with a rebuilt/aftermarket one, rebuild the differential, or replace the defective parts in the existing differential. Obviously the pricing varied greatly with the cost for the replacement of the differential being the most expensive and the repair of the existing one was the least costly of the three. I asked Ron what he would do it it was his car and he said he would recommend repairing the existing differential. I would have went with whatever solution Ron recommended and was very pleased with his honesty. Ron and Mike (35 years of experience with Chrysler) made the repairs and the car runs beautifully and the noise is gone. The cost I paid was much less than what Jeep was quoting (without seeing the car) to cure the problem. I was treated with respect, given and honest assessment of the problem and the cost to repair, and made to feel like I was important to them. I will be taking both of my cars in to Ron from now on, and I will be recommending Last Chance Auto Repair in Plainfield, IL. to all my friends and family members.

All you need to do is get an estimate from any major auto repair company and compare to Last Chance. The money saved alone will have you returning to Last Chance. Also, I thought the amount of time I was without my car was nothing compared to the days I wait for Firestone or any other big name shops. The mechanics seem to have a wide range of knowledge about all cars old and new. My family and I have all had our vehicles taken great care of over at Last Chance. We have needed all kinds of work done. I saved a couple hundred choosing to have my brakes and rotars done there. I like the fact that it is family owned. When I go to big name places its usually some kid who doesnt seem to wanna be there, and I feel like they are always trying to sell you more than what you came for. At Last Chance, Corry and Ron are very informative, and usually have options for you. They make it easy for a non-mechanical person to understand why somethng is not functioning properly and what it needs to continue functioning. I will always go back to Last Chance over the other guys. Thanks Ron! Thanks Corry! Keep doing what you are doing.

Our towing company tows to and from a lot of different auto repair shops in the local area. Weve dealt with just about them all. There are pros and cons to every repair shop. Over at Plainfields trusted Last Chance Auto Repair the pros more than out way the cons so to say. Family owned, priced right, with a low cost guarantee included. I just want to say that it has been almost six months since getting my Chevy 1500 back from Last Chance Auto Repair. My truck was burning a lot of antifreeze in the cold and kept seeing a coolant low light coming on. I was adding almost a half a gallon every week. Last chance quickly diagnosed my issue and told me the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets would need to be replaced. I had them do that work and also asked they tune up and replace any other cheap gaskets, plugs, filters etc as they were already going to be removing a big portion of my motor and I knew a tune up was due. When I got it back from them the engine sounded better, ran smoother not burning as much gas and best part of all has not burned an ounce of anti-freeze in the last 6 months. We have had some very cold days over the past few weeks and the reserve tank under the hood looks perfect!! Thanks for the good work and as always I will recommend you guys to anyone!

Friend suggested to me that this auto repair shop was great at doing brakes with a more than fair price included. Did a little research, they even have an A+ with the BBB. Got a few quotes a dodge dealer wanted 900 dollars, a local repair shop wanted 750 dollars, then I tried them they told me 630 dollars. Which included a lifetime warranty on brake pads a two year warranty on brake rotors. As long as I came back before two years was up all the parts would be free on the next brake job. The brake job went painlessly, dropped it off in the morning, got it back in the evening. It seems like they do business like clock work. No complaints for me. A bonus was that I didnt have to feed any corperate mouths on this trip. Plus they used the O.E. parts I believe in. Thanks Ron & Sherri!
