Will never call mr. Rooter for anything ever again. And the account manager Skylar has a bad attitude and is very unprofessional. I had a frozen pipe last Friday in which I called Mr. Rooter to hopefully help me find and resolve. The guy shows up and he was a nice guy and all but he spent an hour messing with my kitchen faucet in which I mentioned I dont think this area is the issue because I spent the night before treating that area with a blow dryer. He was adamant it was an issue with the faucet. Well after unscrewing one of the pipes he saw there was no water coming (hence the pipe was frozen as I had said). He then told me he will have to cut into my drywall to try and find the source. Didnt state that he was going to make many cuts, but just told me of one spot right under my kitchen floor in another room. I said OK and went back to working on my laptop. Next thing I know he made many more cuts. Hmmmmm.....OK maybe he needed to cut them to heat them up. But then he tells me, these pipes arent cold but I decided to heat them up anyways. Im like huh ? But again didnt think much of it. I go back to working and come back and next thing I know he has now cut into my other wall outside my room!!!! Why ? I have no idea. Finally he figures my 2nd bathroom must be the issue. And cuts more holes. He finally finds the issue and barely blow torches it because the heat from my house was more than enough to do the work for him. Finally water comes on and he charges me 1k for 4 hrs of work. $300 to heat up tworking pipes. $450 to cut into my drywall, most of which I didnt approve. I call the company to question my bill and they dont call me back for 2 days. I then call them back stating I had a question about my bill and I finally get a call back. I speak to Skylark and explain that he really didnt heat up much but he did cUT a lot of holes in my drywall even though he didnt heat up every pipe. On top of that the heat from my house fixed the freeze so why am I paying for him to "heat up" pipes that he really didnt ? On top of that the guy cut holes in areas Im not sure why. Immediately Skylark gets an attitude and starts getting defensive. "He was there for 4 hours so he mustve done something". Even though he was only at my house for 3.5 I guess I get charged for them driving over to my house ? And like I said the first hour was wasted on an area that was not an issue. So technically he did 2.5 hours of work. I tell him I just think I was over charged a bit. Then he gets smart and says "Why did you wait almost 2 weeks to say anything?" The repair happened on the 16th and I called back on the 22nd even tho I called 2 days prior but no one called back. But how is that 2 weeks ? I then say just cancel my membership as I will no longer use you guys. He continues to keep talking about him being at my house for 4 hours in which I told him yes but he didnt do 1k worth of work. Especially charging 300 bucks for heating up pipes that he really didnt. The guy says he doesnt give refunds which I say "OK I still want to cancel my membership anyways". He keeps talking about the work the guy did in which I again ask him just to cancel my membership. Now all of a sudden I hurt his feelings because now he decides to tell me "What card do you want me to refund the membership fee because we dont want to service you anymore". Im sorry but didnt I say I would never call you guys again and to cancel my membership? I then tell him I dont know why he had to get Smart with me about when I called even though it was 2 weeks ago that the work was done but I already asked to cancel my membership so why say anything else ? He finally stops talking and finally refunds my money but man what a pain in the ass. I do not recommend calling them for any small job. They charge far too much to do it and really is not worth it. If I could go back in time, I would have did everything myself and just took a day off of work. Never will call them again and skylar I will never send anybody to your company. Horrible

Unfortunately my fathers toilet had cracked and after I turned off the main water valve, I had called many people. It was very frustrating, but then I called Mr. Rooter in Schaumburg and they sent out Wade Carlson and said he would be about an hour. He was actually there in under a half an hour. He was very courteous with my elderly father and after his assessment, he gave us a spot on estimate including a senior discount for him. Of course, that made my father very happy. I felt very comfortable with Wade being there to do work at my fathers house so I had left to go back to work. About a couple hours later I received a phone call from my father telling me he had taken the old toilet out, installed the new toilet, and installed a new angle shut off valve. He also helped my father with putting the riser seat that he needs due to his condition on the new toilet to see if that was a good for him. They were so great from the time I called to tell them our problem, to the time I received a follow up call to see how everything went. If more service companies followed this model, it would be a great world. Btw, my father was worried about and ugly toilet sitting on the curb until garbage day, but Wade told me he would take it away for us. I really couldnt say enough positive things about my experience. I now put their phone number in my phone and will not hesitate to call if I need anything regarding plumbing. Five star all the way!

I never write reviews, but this case I feel its more than warranted. I had never used a plumbing service prior to using Mr. Rooter. I was apprehensive because of the horror stories I have heard of poor customer service & technicians. However, this was not Mr. Rooter and Team. From the moment I called - both the receptionist and dispatch ladies were so helpful in getting me setup with an emergency plumber. Chris, our plumber arrived on time and was very proactive in seeking out the problem and identifying the solution. Even with the bumps leading up to the fix, Chris remained patient and extremely helpful. He could have easily said "call me when this is worked out", but instead focused on solving the problem. In addition, Chris boss (I do not recall his name) was very focused on ensuring my problem was taken care of. Several calls were placed to me making sure everything was done and there were no issues. I appreciated the customer service, quality of work and professionalism of the staff. I would recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone.
