The plumber I had was the biggest bs artist ever! I just needed him to install a battery sump pump back up system that I had already bought. I saw the maintenance guy install it in our apartment in an hour, so I knew that is how long it would take. They wont give a quote on the phone. They have to look at it first apparently. Fair enough. He tells me it is $550! For an hours work? I bargained him down to $450, but even that was highway robbery. This was after he tried to sell me an $1800 "professional" system, because the one I bought was "no good". Incidentally, that is the same system that another plumber quoted me $1600 for, and when I mentioned that, he said he could match it. When I mentioned that even most lawyers dont charge $550/hr, he comes up with this bs about how they have expenses for insurance, gas, advertising, etc., etc. Yeah, yeah! Lawyers have the same expenses. Then I ask him about replacing a cartridge in my shower control. He says $250! I ask him why so much just to switch out a cartridge. He says because the cartridges are so expensive. So I ask him if I go to Home Depot, will that cartridge cost me $200? Then he backs off and says no the cartridge is not in fact so expensive, but that there is a lot of labor. Again, total bs! So I tell him no thanks on the shower cartridge. Incidentally, when filling the acid into the battery for the battery back up for the sump pump, he spills so much acid, that we become short on acid, so I have to go pay another $21 for more acid at the store. Did he install it correctly? Yes, it appears so. Was the guy pleasant enough other than for his bs reasons for charging so much, yes. Did he take his filthy dirty boots off when he came into my carpeted house and went upstairs to the bedroom, NO. Did he offer to put on paper booties like any considerate service worker would, NO. Did he do a good job of cleaning up after himself, not really. Folks, take your money and spend it on any other plumber out there. Call around to get the best price. If they cant give you even a rough estimate on the phone, forget them. The biggest ads in the yellow pages are not necessarily the best. Remember, they have to pay for those big ads, as the plumber so wonderfully reminded me, and it is coming from your wallet. Call the local small plumber with the little ad, and you should save some money. This guys will fleece you.

On August 17, we had a leaking upstairs toilet that was recently installed by another contractor. Dan Kik was sent out by Blanton, Dan showed up on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, gave me an upfront cost and corrected the problem. I appreciate the efficiency, promptness, and upfront cost estimation. On October 11, I called BLANTON to do some work on one of our rental units to get some things repaired to code. Dan Kik came out gave an estimate that was a bit on the high side, but within reason, did the work quickly and efficiently. The unit passed inspection and is now occupied. On December 12 our home water heater went out. Once again I called BLANTON They sent Dan out on a Saturday afternoon. Quoted a price on a replacement heater and install. Again a bit high, but within reason. Dan came back on Monday, Dec. 14 and did the install. Once again the work was done quickly and efficiently.

We experienced toilet and shower back up. I ended up calling Duane plumbing after experiencing bad wait times with another plumber. When I called Duane, they were very responsive and told me someone would come out within in an hour. Sure enough, someone came out within the time indicated. Patrick (technician) was fantastic. He snaked out the pipe and diagnosed the issue quickly. He recommend the fix, once I approved he quickly went to work to coordinate with his team to promptly address and fix the issue. We were very pleased with his response time and ability to have a human to human conversation without trying to nickle and dime you for everything. He did not rush us with our questions and explain the plumbing system in detail. We were very pleased with the service performed by Duane plumbing. I highly recommend them.

Ejector pump bit the dust so on the way to work on a FRIDAY, I called for a 4:30pm appointment. Patrick showed up right at 4:30, got right to work and had us back in business quickly. REALLY knows his craft, does phenomenal work and took great care to explain what he was seeing, what I could do about it, offered options, and then got it done. No serious plumbings going on in my house unless its with these guys and, if possible, Pat. He even took a quick look at a separate issue - a problem toilet - before he left and gave me suggestions on the fix. Definitely not a cheap experience, but I got real value for the money in terms of service, quality of the product installed and assurance that any issue would be handled with a call. Go with these guys. Top notch - all facets.

We recently had to have a gas valve replaced on our fireplace due to a gas leak. We had wonderful, prompt, and courteous service completed by Glynn L. The job took over 4 hours to finish as stones had to be removed from around the valve in order to replace it. He took the time to tape off plastic sheeting to minimize the amount of dust and debris, finished the repair and went the extra mile in putting the stones back on for us. Yes, service of this nature is not cheap, but a gas leak is a very dangerous situation. We are sleeping a lot better at night now thanks to Glynns work. We will definitely call upon him for any future plumbing needs.

Patrick came quickly. He was great to have on the job site. After he worked on the plugged line , it was determined that a much bigger job needed to be done on Friday (three days later and the first opening). Patrick took care of helping with the city permit that same day. The excellent crew came right on time. After digging down to the sewer pipe, more pipe needed to be replaced and Mr Blanton fairly priced out the additional work. It was finished being repaired before the city inspector arrived. Patrick returned to verify the job was completed to my satisfaction with his pipe camera. Call this company for your needs!

Called to have my main sewer line rodded on Saturday. Phone was answered quickly and a time window was given. They called back and were able to come even sooner, which is nice when you are without sewer. Glynn was the tech. Very professional, and thorough. This is an old house with the main running between two large trees so I have had this done many times. Glynn spent more time than any of the other plumbing contractors have spent, and made sure it was done right. Cost was in same range as I have paid others, but the job was, in my opinion, done far better. Thanks!!

I always read reviews, and since my experience with Duane Blanton Plumbing turned out well, I thought I would submit this today. At first I was disappointed that my time window was delayed by 1 1/2 hours. However, once I met the techs Ron and Dan, I was extremely pleased with the service. They were both very professional, respectful, and knowledgeable. I also think their prices are reasonable. I would highly recommend this company, but I would try to request either of these two gentlemen if possible. It was really them that sold me on their organization.
