I needed a new collar for a toilet that was attached to a concrete floor because the old one was warped and leaking. Having never worked with securing plumbing to concrete, I decided to hire a plumber. After searching around I decided to go with IPS. Penny was very courteous on the phone and set me up with an appointment window. The window came and went and I was just about to get annoyed when the phone rang right at the last minute. He was only 15 minutes late, and I appreciated the courtesy of calling me to let me know. Neal was my plumber. I found him to be very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. He was willing to answer all of my questions and explain things in detail. After assessing the situation, he said he thought he could remove the old collar, simply rotate it 90 degrees and reattach it. He gave me a price for this - along with reinstalling the toilet of course - that seemed fair enough to me. He then gave me an additional option that was to replace the collar with a new one. This was a price adder that more than doubled the amount. Being the first time with this company I thought to myself, here we go with the B.S. I told him that the labor was exactly the same, the only difference being that either the old collar or a new one would be reattached. I braced myself for the ensuing battle (which would have been a complete turn-off). He then said, "what do you think would be fair?". I said the only adder should be the cost of the new part - not additional labor too. He said "fair enough" and immediately dropped it. It turned out to be a good thing for me too because the old one did indeed break as he was trying to remove it. So while happy that he did not continue to try to squeeze more money out of me, I was a bit disappointed that he even tried to in the first place. Just like with a car mechanic - if you find a good honest one you trust, youll stay with him for life. But one attempt to hustle you, and you lose faith immediately. This is the reason I gave IPS a 4 and not a 5. Aside from this one issue, I think Neal was great and I would absolutely have him back again to do work for me. My impression was that the sell job is something that is pushed by IPS and not by Neal himself. If I could, I would give IPS a 3 and Neal a 5. But I can only give one score.

Even though it was a holiday weekend, Neal called us back within an hour of leaving a message with their answering service. He evaluated our situation and recommended that we hold off until Tuesday to save money, if we could manage it. I appreciated his honestly and agreed that we could manage to wait. Matt came out right on time (at the top of the 2 hour window I was given), was courteous, quick, intelligent and thorough. He explained the price up front and gave me a chance to say no. The price didnt change and there were no surprises. It wasnt a bargain, but it was fair. The area Matt worked in was clean as a whistle when he left, and the pump system has worked perfectly since. I especially liked their recommendation of installing a solid state switch - far superior technology to the alternatives. And since this pump services our entire house, we need to know that we can rely on it. All in all, it was a great experience. Well definitely be calling Intelligent the next time we have a plumbing issue!

After a long day of trying to DIY on a backed up bathtub drain, I gave up and called a local plumber who I have used in the past. As luck would have it he was out of town so I went to Angies List and looked for the closest plumber with good ratings. Enter Intelligent Plumbing Solutions. It was an after hours call, so the answering service took my info and I was contacted by Neal who asked some questions and stepped thru the pricing for the after-hours call and what the price would be if I waited until Monday morning. I decided to pay the premium and have the work done the same day. Within 30 minutes by service tech Matt came out. He walked me through the pricing structure so I had a clear expectation on my cost. Matt went right to work and was able to rod the drain out and got me up and running. Very professional and friendly service. Would definitely use again! Thanks!

We had Matt A. from Intelligent Plumbing in our home today on September 7, 2017 to repair a toilet. As usual, he took the time to listen to us about what we thought the problem was. He then proceeded to troubleshoot the problem, gave us an estimate in work to be done...and then got to work. The job was completed in a timely manner and the bathroom was left clean and usable. We have had Matt A. in our home several times repairing another toilet, installing a check valve on a sump pump, fixing shower leaks and repairing a kitchen sink disposal. Every job was done completely and the work performed professionally and service provided in a personable manner. We will always call on Intelligent Plumbing, and, specifically, Matt A. for any plumbing issues we may have in the future.

Ive used Intelligent Plumbing Services (I happened to find them on a local referral list, and am glad I did) twice for medium-sized to larger jobs in the past couple of months -- for replacing faucets and piping, removing an old unused garbage disposal, and repiping/drain work that had to be done in my crawlspace. Sean and Matt were the technicians who did those jobs. The work was done well and professionally, and the communications (invoicing, dispatched technicians, technicians on their way, explanation of what was done, etc.) were very good. My calls to the office were handled promptly and professionally. Its refreshing to have found a local plumbing service that is responsive, honest, and very technically proficient.

Everyone Ive worked with at Intelligent Plumbing Services has been great! We have had them do a few projects around the house, from master bathroom to installing a water filtration system. Matt and Neal, the "Service Experts we had, are both professional, courteous, and knowledgeable, as well as fun to talk to! Every time I talked to anyone in the office as well, (scheduling, paying a bill), I hung up smiling! It seems they have a very positive work environment, and everyone has a great personality. Highly recommend!!

We called on a morning after we had a lot of rain and a lot of houses around us were flooded. I thought it would be difficult to get someone today but the secretary was very kind and told me someone would be there within two hours. Luke was our plumber and he was absolutely wonderful. He had a lot of knowledge and worked very hard to fix all of our issues (we had a lot). IPS is a great company and will definitely be using them again. I will even try to request Luke since he was awesome and very professional!

Tom did an amazing job! He got straight to the point on replacing the shower faucet. No tile work, no back and forth for days, no appointment to "talk with both of us", just "heres your problem and heres how we can solve it". He also explained the sound with the toilet and gave options to fix that from basic gasket replacement to replacing the cheap toilet with a better one. With the shower and toilet, took him 2 hours and that was it. All fixed up and good to go! Really fantastic work!
