I had an emergency move in the middle of October. I had to figure out who I could trust to move my items safely. I put my phone number into a system, and I had a million moving companies calling me. I started reading about my rights as a customer in a moving situation, and understood the huge risk factor. Gregory called me one day, and I just randomly told him I was interested. It was a whim, and he was very understanding, and then gave me his information. As I was getting quotes from different moving companies, Gregory called me, and I was stressed out. I explained to him what the moving companies had asked me to pay $5000! I just couldn’t pay that amount. Not on a move like this. We were moving to Florida from Illinois, and we needed storage. Gregory sent one of their estimators to my apartment, and the guy gave me a reasonable quote. We walked around the premise, and he talked to me about the truck he was going to bring. Gregory assured me that throughout this move he would be in contact with me. I could call him when I needed, and he explained the process of how my items were being handled. I felt very comfortable with the process, so I hired them as my movers. I set up a pickup time, and they arrived promptly to pick up my stuff. When my items were put into storage, I was given another person of contact Mark Brown. He handled my storage fees, and delivery schedule. There were a few hiccups, like any big move, but Mark Brown & Gregory were on top of it. Their communication to each other and me was amazing! I think Olympia Moving and Storage is a broker. This isn’t clear to me, but my arrival time came and went, and some bigger hiccups started happening. First, let me say the communication with Mark Brown and Gregory was very appreciated! Because they were late on delivery, they offered me a refund. I have not gotten the paper work for that, so I am just going to follow up on it. Next, the original driver got into a car accident, in his own personal vehicle. I had to have another driver deliver my items. Communication between Olympia Moving and Storage and the driver was terrible. My sister’s wedding was January 23. I was out of town. My items were supposed to have arrived January 19. The new driver told me he was not informed my items were past the due date. He had been on the road for 45 days, and wanted get home so badly. Olympia Moving and Storage honored the weekend I was out of town, and told me my items wouldn’t be delivered until Monday or Tuesday. The driver wanted to come Saturday or Sunday. Normally, I would be thrilled! In this instance, it was the wrong weekend to have movers come. The driver had his hands tied, because they were late on delivering my items, so they had to listen to me and my needs. We told the drivers they can come at 4 am on Monday, if they wish! They arrived at 6:30 am. The driver needed to take my money first, but let me look into the truck. I have my own renters insurance; which covers all of my items. I agreed to pay him upfront, cash, and the difference of the money from being late would be his tip-$150. They dropped everything off, unpacked what they could. My items are beautiful! They were packed so nicely, and the boxes were not damaged at all!!! The driver told me his other two loads were damaged, and scrambled. Mine looked completely untouched. He, also, told me that Olympia packed the truck, and they did an amazing job. All my items were tagged, and on skits. I am very happy with my experience. The driver was very polite. He even rented a Uhaul, to get me my things faster, and to get off the road faster. The service at Olympia Moving & Storage was great, with Mark Brown & Gregory. My only con is the communication between the company and the driver. I don’t know the whole story, and frankly it doesn’t matter anymore. I don’t have any stress, nor any headaches! I will use Olympia Moving and Storage again, only if I am dealing with Gregory and Mark Brown. Well done guys!

Bottom Line, if you dont want to read the whole rant: This company is super callous about literally the only thing they do, and they shirk responsibility when they screw that up. Dont trust them with your stuff. I did, and Im still regretting it. I dont know if it was a fluke I had good luck the last time, or if the company has changed in the past year, but I was a happy returning customer thats now in a 6-month long nightmare of claims process. Just EVERYTHING went wrong. The men on the front lines were still hardworking and kind, but management did everything possible to make the move hellish - they didnt write down my quote right, then nickle and dimed me once my stuff was on the truck. They promised same-day delivery and then gave themselves "up to three business days" for a two-hour move (all my clothes and personal items were on the truck), and then they BROKE SO MUCH OF MY STUFF AND DIDNT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. They were misleading, unhelpful, extremely stress inducing, and just ass backwards. After a few months of documentation and working with their insurance company, I was offered a fraction of the value of the damaged items (less than 10%) after being told that my ONLY insurance option was a per-pound coverage by the in-charge mover who rushed me through the contract AS they were taking my stuff away. Only after they left did I see that they had an option by value, which I would have taken, as I trusted them with some pretty priceless heirlooms - and of course these are the things that arrived in two pieces. Yeah, my fault for not reading the fine print, but it was pretty damn shady to present it to me in a high-pressure environment and say it said one thing instead of another. Even WITH the per-pound option, theyve shirked coverage of a number of the items they ruined because they deemed them "not broken enough". You explain to me how snapping the base of a dresser clean through isnt REALLY broken. Anyway, the claims reimbursement offer came with the condition of a gag order that if I took any of the money, I would have to delete any negative reviews on social media. You can guess what my choice was.

Did we show up on time? Almost, but we did get a foot of snow this day. Did we pack your things with care? Sort-of, there was a couple of times where I had to remind them to be careful and put the lids on the boxes before stacking them. Did we answer all of your questions to the best of our abilities? yes Was the crew friendly, professional, and in uniform? Not much of a uniform, somewhat friendly when they talked to me, and as far as professional, the lead mover had an attitude with me. They complained a bit about the time, and about how much stuff I had to move, how they were going to have to pack some of the little things I didnt have time to pack in their boxes. They did leave a little bit of a mess for me to clean up at the apartment, rolls of tape, coffee cups and garbage. Did the crew arrange things where you asked them to at the delivery? yes, they did put everything where they were supposed to when we got to the house. Was there anything else that we could have done to make the move for you easier? I understand that they had another job to get to after mine, but they didnt have to act so annoyed that my move was taking so long. They need to be more prepared for things like this to happen. Especially with the weather the way it was in the middle of December. I also was rushed to check the back of the truck to see if anything was left. I wasnt able to get inside and look because they were in such a hurry. I am now missing little pieces to certain items that were moved, and now those items are unusable. I had an $80 baby gate that I used with my dogs, and it is missing a piece that mounts it to the walls, and now it cannot be used. I am also missing a wheel to my grocery cart, and it cannot be used. I am not sure if I would really recommend them. They were decently priced, but thats about it. I also didnt like having to fill out my "post-move" review sheet with the guy staring at me. It made me not want to give an honest review.
