My experience was less than favorable for Duxler...I had what appeared to be a muffler issue due to a loud noise produced by my car...I took it to Duxler and was told I needed an entirely new system at the cost of $1567.00...they asked me if a I wanted them to order the parts from Ford I told them I wanted the exact quote and I wanted to discuss the situation with my husband...he questioned my needing to replace the whole exhaust system and said to get a second opinion which I did....I google muffler retailers and I see positive reviews from Midas on Dempster in Morton Grove...I speak to Eddie the manager and he tells and I ask for him to show me what I need...I only needed a new gasket...total cost including labor $100.00. He replaces the gasket and I am on my way...I then go back to Duxler and talk to Ernie who is the manager in Wilmette and I express my disappointment in having them take advantage of me knowing I am a female and not comfortable with the mechanics of a car. I ask him to rack it and show my why they told me I needed a new exhaust system...I am now under the car and waiting for an answer...he admits I did not need a new system and apologizes blaming his employee....ridiculous to throw an employee under the bus. If you read other reviews at all Duxler locations there are numerous similiar stories like mine. Buyer beware... if you are told other than an oil change that you need expensive work take the time to get a second opinion. Make sure you get under the car if you can and have the second opinion show you if anything is wrong so you are well informed. When I went back to Ernie at Duxler I told him not to lie to me when we got the car up on the rack to try and rationalize why they told me I needed unnecessary work...they did it again. I am disappointed and wouldnt trust them to do anything more than an oil change or new tires..and I would price compare tires too. Think about it...you cant make alot of money on oil changes when a Jiffy Lube is down the street....they make their money selling you unnecessary things like expensive exhaust systems...brakes and other mechanical jobs. Take the time to get a second opinion I will bet you wont need the work they tell you....if you dont care to be taken advantage of or are too busy well than this place is for you...they are laughing at you.... all the way to your bank!

I have followed Mgr Frank T. for many years wherever he was managing. I found him to be VERY honest and efficient with any of my auto needs. His knowledge of cars, trucks and anything that has an engine is superior. The mechanics are all well educated and training is updated frequently. You will not go wrong with Dexler or be disappointed.

If you want to take a chance, go to Vegas! These guys work hard on your behalf. Muller Honda tried to get us to get something fixed that wasnt needed. These guys caught it. I laugh when I hear the BS Muller Honda commercials about integrity. If you want your car fixed right, when needed, come to Duxler!
