In 2015, my old Honda Accord started making awful noises around the front tires. I brought the car into the Main & Crawford shop in Evanston to look at it. They tried to convince me I needed new tires to the tune of $600 and that the car was very dangerous to drive with the old tires, being fully aware that I was trading the car in and didnt want to put a dime into it. I drove the car into Warrens Shell in Evanston to have a look at it and they immediately sourced the trouble - my heat shields needed adjustment ($40). Fixed a short time later and confirmed that the tires were still okay. I also highly suspect the Main & Crawford shop installed a used part in my car a year earlier and charged me for a new part. Shameful.

Took car in because it failed emissions they did inspection and quoted 1100. Took them 3 weeks to return car. In those 3weeks they just guessed at the problem and still returned the car without it being able to pass emissions and had somehow deactivated my remote started which they didnt know how to fix either. Total repairs where 1900 which was near double quote and returned the car with the same problem I took it in to repair and with no remote start now. Dont trust this people. Your better off fixing your own car even if you know nothing about cars, at least labor will be cheaper and u get the same results.

They may have recently moved their location to Evanston but that doesnt change the quality of work or their integrity. My parents recently moved to the area and I referred my folks to Main & Crawford... thats how much we love Main & Crawford! If you want your car serviced with care, at a reasonable price, by honest people... look no further than Main & Crawford.

tried to charge extra for body work after taking the car in, then when repair costs had been paid up front tried to cash the insurance check too, keep both set of eyes open when dealing with them the other set of eyes should be on the back of your head), work on the car was good but their slick moves lost me as a customer

We have taken our car to Main and Crawford twice now and each time they treated us well and took care of our car in a short period of time. Since they are open on Sundays, they work out great for us at times because our Saturdays get really busy and also for those weekend emergencies you dont anticipate.

Mike makes sure you understand exactly what is needed and why. Wont hesitate to use them for our regular car service.

Great overall experience..... The mechanics are very honest and knowledgeable. Just took my wifes vehicle for timing belt and water pump service, their price was fair and reasonable, way less than the Acura dealer was asking for. I highly recommend it to every one.
