If you need a battery change NEVER go to this location. Extremely poor customer service and they wont do the job right. Save your money, go somewhere else! Heres the long story: This was the worst service experience I ever had at a Pep Boys. I went in on a busy Saturday because I needed a new battery for my car. I made the service appointment for 3 hours later in the day but when I showed up they were surprised to see me. I told them TWICE the model of my car and explained that my car wont start and that I thought I needed a new battery. After waiting another 30 min they finally went to work on my car. They swapped out the battery in my car before testing if the old battery or the car starter was the problem. After I paid, I went to test out my car and it still wouldnt start with the new battery. I went back and they said "we did what you told us" and said that my key was the problem. My car ended up being worse off with the new battery. I went to the Cadillac dealership to figure out the problem and they told me that Pep Boys put the wrong type of battery in the car and that it messed with some of my cars electronics. They then proceeded to swap it for the right one. I was for an entire week without a car, until I had time to bring it to the dealership. You think that the mechanics at Pep Boys would know how to swap out a simple battery. It ended up costing me a lot more money to get it fixed at the dealership all because of Pep Boys negligence.

I had a great experience today at Pep Boys Touhy. I went in with an issue from another Pep Boys location so I was not in a good frame of mind. However, as I was at the counter waiting my turn Kevin, the Manager, made a point to greet me and let me know I was next. Kevin proceeded to talk to every customer who came in while I was there. Also, Kevin came by and gave everyone waiting his business card. Next, they looked at my caliper and recommended the front right caliper be replaced. I explained another Pep Boy had replaced it but was told they didnt do the work. They replaced front & back instead of front left and right. I also asked about the drums the other Pep Boy installed that were rusted. Kevin looked at my receipt and told me hed take care of correcting the issue and called the other Manager at Pep Boys in Elston. Kevin, resolved all my brake issues, caliper issues and drum issues in less that three hours. Ive never seen a team that are dedicated to providing excellent customer service, explaining whats going on, and providing solutions. I am now a loyal customer of Pep Boys Touhy thanks to the awesome customer service Kevin and his team provided to me today! I will recommend Pep Boys Touhy to any and all of my friends if/when they need service.

My experience here was absolutely amazing! I had placed an order for tires online and received an email that they were in. Not only did I receive and email, but a phone call as well. I was pleasantly surprised that they were in so fast, and I was contacted in more ways then one. The day came of my appointment and I was right on time. As I approached the counter I was greeted in a manner that you dont normally see anymore, anywhere. After waiting approximately 15 minutes, The manager Kevin came out and told me that the tires were the wrong size. That the online store had not selected the right ones, and if I could give him a few minutes he would call around and see if a fellow store might have the right ones. I was a bit upset, seeing as though they were special order. Kevin had found the right ones luckily, and asked if there was anything else i needed. He replaced my wiper blades, and made conversation with me while I patiently waited for the tires to arrive and be put on. He apologized sincerely and never made me feel as if it were my fault about the mistake. I will definitely come back to this store for the hospitality and service. Kevin is more than a great hire, he is irreplaceable.

Horrible! I had gone in for an estimate due to hearing some noise coming from my front tire; i suggested I may also need some new brake pads. The estimate I received was almost $500 just for the brakes and they didnt even address the noise issue I went in for in the first place. I was not given any explanation as to why the estimate was so high for brake pads,and when I made a point that they shouldnt be that much the agent stated they could offer me a different "brake package" to save me $40. I was never even told what the difference is in packages much less what packages they offered! I went and got a couple estimates from other shops and lo and behold, the brakes cost less than $200 and the noise I was hearing was from the ball bearing assembly from my front tire! They never even looked at what the issue was in the first place. Deceptive and overpriced estimates with unnecessary service options will not get you repeat customers. Doesnt seem like their staff knows what they are doing.

Where to begin?? Well I must admit I do shop here often however I am not one to abandon a store due to a grudge. They carry many types of oil and DupliColor Paints as well as 1500, 2000 grit sandpaper which is hard to find at any other local store (excluding of course other Automotive stores) Its a 2 minute drive so I go here. The thing is about this place is that they have one of the sleaziest, rudest, and unqualified managers in the Auto Supply Industry. He couldnt care less if you shop there or not, just the other day I overheard him speaking to an employee (In Spanish) how he told someone to get the "F" out of his store!! I hope he was just showing off to the the high school kid employee but then again I wouldnt be surprised. The place is a MESS, items are constantly out of stock and returning things is near impossible. If you can shop at other stores, DO IT. There is an excellent but more parts specific store across the street - LEE AUTO 20/20 - GO THERE, trust me.

The staff is nice, but the service is dis-appointing. I made an appointment to get four tires for my vehicle. I arrived 15 minutes before my scheduled time and was told that I was next in line. Over an hour later, my car had not moved and I was told that my appointment only put me ahead of people who show up after me. I left without new tires and made an appointment at a place who can keep an appointment, Acorn Tires on Lincoln and McCormick. There are at least 8 lifts at this Pep Boys location. Why cant one or two of those be reserved for customers who make appointments? Dont offer a service (appointments) that you cannot provide. This policy wasted my time, mileage, and any potential that I will return or recommend them for automotive needs. I presume this disrespectful standard to be true for all locations. Please change the policy or eliminate the useless option to schedule maintenance.
