I guess everybody has a bad day and this may have been Ricks. We needed to have the Main waste stack replaced in our old home. Based on Rick’s reviews I felt comfortable calling him? He came right out on Friday and took a look at the issue. If I could afford the estimate Rick planned on scheduling the work on Tuesday. Tuesday rolled around and I had not received an estimate. I texted to ask if he was interested and if so he could please send the estimate. He did not respond. I called and he said he had sent it. I spelled out my email again and he said he would send it in an hour. 4 hours later I called again. We discovered a typo and he sent the estimate. It all starts with him driving past the house on the wrong road. He had been to the house the week before and also got lost that day. He arrived on Friday at 9:30 to start the job. This is when I started to realize that I made a poor choice. He cut a few holes in the plaster wall to locate the stack. He could not find it. I took him up the stairs and pointed to where it should be. He went up again and cut a new hole in the wall. Here he found a 2 inch pipe and proceeded to cut it out so he could remove it. A short time later he ask me if I had a sink on the third floor. I say no the only thing in the attic is a vent pipe that he had just cut. He says I thought it was two inch all the way down and mumbled that he should have used his tape measure. He had already removed a large portion of the 4 inch cast pipe so I was a little confused. Needless to say a few more holes and a few hours later he had the pipe out. He did repair the vent pipe. I had asked him about how he would manage the dust. He said he would hang plastic. I assumed this would be where ever he cut the plaster. Not the case. Upstairs there was dust and debris everywhere it was like a dust storm had come thru the house. In the end he got the job done and charged me ~300.00 dollars / hour. It took 8 hours and 4 extra holes. He also cut thru the wall twice into another room by accident. I learned my lesson wait to get a few estimates and if your gut tells you something listen. I would never recommend this plumber it was like it was his first job. As a side note he mounted the toilet with plumbers putty instead of wax ring and said that is how all the old guys did it. Best I can tell nobody does it that way anymore and I assume for a good reason.

We are in the middle of a winter storm; lots of frozen pipes in town (including mine) and no plumbers available. Like previous reviewer I called Rick based on online reviews. What a great discover! While others were turning me down, he found a time even being extremely busy and rushed to my home. He immediately detected the problem and fixed it right away. Very professional. He ended up spending several hours at home since valves and pipes needed to be replaced and thawed. He gave me a quote and kept the price. Great work ethics and very competitive pricing. I even called him later in the afternoon with a couple of questions and he answered them politely and with no rush. Rick is very professional, knowledgeable and will take care of your issue in the most effective way. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a plumber!

Rick responded to a call about flooding on a Sunday. He listened closely to the observations that I had made about the functioning and history of the sump system. He trouble shot the system. Identified the problem as a broken check valve. (Sump pump had recently been replaced by another plumbing service without checking the valve and without resolution of the problem). He showed me the dysfunctional part and made an expeditious correction. His charges were very reasonable. He subsequently made a courtesy call to walk me through correction of a non-emergent drainage problem. Experienced. Professional. Trustworthy. It is very reassuring to know that I have a go-to professional for plumbing problems. I am pleased to recommend him highly. David Schmidt M.D.

We contacted Precision Plumbing when we discovered, at 7:30 PM, that our main sewer pipe was leaking into our crawlspace. Rick, the owner, was already on a call at the time and I could tell by his voice that he would prefer not to have an additional after-hours call. When I explained the problem was with a sewer pipe, however, he agreed to come that night. He examined the leak and gave us very fair up-front quote on what he would charge. The job turned out to be a little more complicated than he expected. Despite taking longer to complete than Rick expected, he stood by his original quote. We could not be happier with the service we received. Rick is the only plumber we will call for any future needs.

Rick at Precision Plumbing was an ABSOLUTE LIFESAVER last yesterday!! Im in the process of getting my bathroom renovated and part of the renovation is to get the tub and surround refinished. I figured since I was going all out, I might as well get all new fixtures for the bathtub/shower. I just didnt realize the plumbing that would be involved and unfortunately realized it a bit too late (the day before the tub was to be resurfaced). I called Rick and he was able to come over and fit us in on the same day. He stayed and worked on everything until almost 9 pm last night and, because he was able to finish the job, we didnt have to reschedule the resurfacing. I cant thank him enough!!!!

Rick replaced a hot water tank and failed to present the model number of the tank. I trusted he would install the best tank possible and I just doubt that happened. He misrepresented his hourly rate and quoted a per repair charge at the site that would inflate the work completed outrageously. His invoices lack adequate detail and it looks like he is shorting the State of Indiana by not reporting sales tax to be paid on parts or tangible products sold. His invoices lack a line to express what the tax paid by the consumer is. He makes comments on site about former work performed to make it look as though he has superior trouble shooting and installation skills.

After two weeks out of state I come home to find my water supply line to the street seeping water all over my basement and soaking my front lawn. Thankfully Rick from Precision Plumbing is able to make it out very quickly and gives me a reasonable quote to get my water fixed and back on by the end of the next day. I really appreciated the speed and relative neatness of the job even when it was discovered that the utility company has miss marked some of the utility lines in our yard. I am very impressed with Precision Plumbing’s ability to get a rough job done on such short notice. Next plumbing issue I have I’ll be sure to call them!
