Our kitchen sink with a disposal wouldnt drain. Standing water was left in the sink if we let the water run more than 20 seconds. So we called Schomers who came and cleaned out the drain and pipe and told us we were good to go. A short time later the problem returned. During a second service call (we were charged again) we were told the problem was our dish-washing machine. We replaced the machine (approximately $600) and the problem returned again a short time later. They came out again and charged us a service fee again and it seemed to fix the problem for a few months. We hardly put any food in our disposal because we didnt want the problem to return. Now the problem has returned again. When I explained to the receptionist today I didnt expect to have to pay for another service call she told me she couldnt guarantee that; it would depend on what the technician found. I said this is the fourth time Ive had to call about the same problem, I replaced a perfectly good dish-washer and you cant tell me Im not going to be charged. She said yes. I told her if that was the case then I was going to use a different company and let everyone know about their disappointing service. She said thats fine and then hung up on me. I definitely will not use Schomers again, and I encourage you to do the same.

The only reason I give Schomers one star out of five is that anything less is not allowed. My parents had Schomers work on their new kitchen, and while the work was completed in a timely manner, they were billed $667 for 3 1/2 hours labor, a price most would find unacceptable. When my father wrote to dispute this, he received a response that threatened him with small claims court and a mechanics lien. Furthermore, the reply (which used the grammar of a fifth-grader) insulted my fathers handwriting, an act I find professionally unacceptable. To be frank, the gentlemen who run Schomers (if they can be called such) are lewd and foul and have the mannerisms of a child. Their treatment of my parents is something no customer should have to tolerate. Id recommend everybody stay away from Schomers. If you want to get the best service for your money and be treated in a respectful manner, they are not the business for you. However, if you enjoy being talked down to, Schomers might be right up your alley. Lafayette is a very lovely city with much better businesses to offer, and hopefully, in due time, businessmen such as these will lose their business and be required to leave.

I cant comment on the quality of service, because I cancelled the appointment. They gave us a 2 hour window for service, didnt show up, we called and said they were running late and would be there later, but couldnt tell exactly when. That didnt work for us, so they gave us another time: between 8-11 the following day. Since I cant spend half a day waiting around for them to show up (or not), I cancelled the appointment altogether and am trying to find another company.

Two reasons why I was not satisfied: 1) $150 for ten minutes looking at water heated and stating it needs replacing. 2) A year later from time of work I get phone call stating they were never paid. Checked bank and the check was never cashed. It took a year to figure that out? Come on. Then treated a little rudely when I questioned the charge since it had been so long.

John added 1.5 Freon and it blew cold air for a month and now its back to not blowing out cold air again. John didnt bother to check over the a/c unit for any problems therefore, he didnt try to fix it right. If they had tried to fix it right the first time it wouldnt have stop working after 1 month. I cant believe the poor quality of work!!!

BE ASSURED IF THEY SEND 2 MEN YOU WILL BE CHARGED $136 PER HOUR EVEN IF THE SECOND MAN ISNT NEEDED. THEY WERE HERE 5 HOURS I GOT A LABOR BILL OF $751. SOMEONE NAMED BRIAN WAS VERY RUDE RIGHT OFF THE BAT WHEN I CALLED. SHOP AROUND AND CHECK OUT OTHER REVIEWS.

I hired them for a plumbing job. They charged more man hours than they actually spent on the job and didnt even finish until I called to remind them twice. Then they wanted to charge extra because they had to come back. I will never use this company again.

Horrible doesnt finish there job but want full payment and they cant come back to fix there problem or the job under your consent but have to wait for the landlord to call and approve of it

I called them to clean out a backed up drain. Showed up on time, finished fast, fair price ($85 to snake a drain, which is pretty typical).
