This is one of the worst Post Offices that Ive ever been to. To their credit, it is also one of the busiest Post Offices Ive ever been to. However, I feel that a tremendous opportunity exists to improve the customer experience at this location, no matter the volume of transactions that happen here. The staff is visibly worn out and/or dissatisfied with their jobs. This can be easily seen in the very monotone way that the staff speaks to customers, as well as their completely horrible and inefficient speed of service. More often than not, the line of customers stretches at least 7-10 people deep, without any type of reaction or sense of urgency displayed by the staff in response. Its as if they know that customers have no other choice but to wait until their turn comes, and because there is no alternative to the Post Office, what choice do customers have but to accept this substandard level of service? Although this seems like the standard at many Post Offices these days, this type of negative experience seems to be enhanced at this location. Very disappointing.

Im only giving a star because I have to. I ship packages from him because I have 4 kids. Never had s problem in Griffith. Yesterday they didnt pick up my packages just shoved mail next to them, today they scanned and took half of the packages left the rest and shoved my mail in. Could you be any more lazy???? Now Im supposed to pack my twins to drop off mail and unload and load them back in all because you cant do your job. The lady on the phone said shes not making excuses for him but maybe he didnt know. Didnt know hes suppose to pick up packages? Seriously only taking half. Worst post office ive dealt with and Ive been to 6.

Im posting this review because despite the heat and the rude customers I encountered and interacted with, the post office staff kept their cool. A man was so blatantly rude to me and to the staff. He first started out making passive aggressive comments about the service and then about me, who was getting helped at a side window. He was probably in a bad mood because of the long line already but its no excuse. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I believe their service was fair and as quick as they could go that day. I believe the customers that day were short-tempered and impatient.

I am convinced that people just need to gripe about something. I make and receive many overseas mailings with no problem. In all the time I have lived in Valpo, I have had one package from Germany go astray, but that was due to the fact that DLP had somehow lost the packet with the address. That is hardly the fault of the post office. The employees are always kind and helpful - never rude or surly. I have also dealt with many post offices across the country, and this one, while wildly busy at times, is the best! My regular carrier is the best!!

If I treated people at my job like you are treated at this location, I would be fired immediately. And rightly so. These people would do well to remember their manners, if they ever had any. Honestly...if they are as unhappy with their jobs as they act...they should find another job. Oh wait....quit a cushy government job with good pay and benefits....where you can act like an ass and never fear losing your job? Guess Id be staying a lifetime too.....

Do not order any packages that will be shipped through this location. Either they say they try to deliver them but never knock on your door, or items get lost. Or they "sit on their dock" for days on end. If you do, order packages that you dont care about when you need them. You could get it, oh, whenever. I was told they had lots of product on their dock to go through. Another wisely run government agency...

These horrible people have lost 4 pieces of my mail in the last two months, including a 15 pound textbook, a 300$ check, a customized coffee mug, and a first class package. This is an absolutely awful facility who has no idea what they are doing. I suspect some of the mailmen may be on drugs. I am looking into moving because the service here is inevitably sickening. Sickening!! It is almost life-ruining.

Unbelievably lousy service. Rosa at the Dutch door is the clerk from hell. She treats everyone like a line jumper. She should retire. She must be suffering from crippling arthritis. When I complained to the supervisor about her horrible manners, the other clerk sat and laughed at me. This post office is absolutely the worst post office I have ever dealt with.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I applied for my passport last year and the lady made a comment about how my dad isnt on my birth certificate. The people here are rude and its pretty obvious they hate their jobs and have no training in customer service. Its almost like its a requirement for people to be rude and have no people skills.

One of the worst post offices I have ever been to. I am always treated like a burden by the staff, and this is the second time USPS has "tried" to deliver a package that needed to be signed for, only to never knock on my front door when there are two people home who would have been available to collect it. Absolutely ridiculous.

Twice now, I have sent cards with GC in them. Twice now they were never delivered. I know it is happening at this post office for the fact I mailed from 2 different post office in different towns to the Valparaiso post office. Very disappointed that there are thieves in our USPS...

I really dreaded having to pick up packages at this post office. Im pretty positive the lady I dealt with there really hated me personally, and it always seemed like my package was misplaced in an alternate dimension. It usually took 30-40 minutes to get a single package.

This is the worst post office Ive ever been to. Long lines. Rude unknowledgeable staff. They gave me the wrong postage for my wedding invites, even after weighing them and reassuring me I didnt need the more expensive stamp. I will avoid this post office at all costs.

Certainly a busy place, but even during the chaos they are helpful and give advice on the best way to ship something to save money. Treat them with kindness and understanding and you shall be treated he same. A small amount of empathy goes quite a ways.

Wish I could give them no stars, but I had to give at least one in order to write this. They have no manners, and the mail carriers evidently dont know how to read, Im constantly receiving mail for other addresses that are no where near my house.

They dont knock when a signature is needed. They leave a delivery attempt in the mailbox, but never come to the door. Now my package is a day late and I have to go to the post office (ugh) to pick it up myself.

So rude and SLOW. By far the worst post office I have ever had to deal with. Avoid at all costs go to Westville or Wanatah. I would not send my worst enemy mail through here that they would have to go pick up.
