My husband and I absolutely loved our experience working with Mark and his team! We found out in March 2016 that we would be relocating from California to Iowa in July for medical residency. We had to quickly rent our home in California and figure out how to buy a home in Iowa-- especially since I was 8 months pregnant and neither my husband or I would be flying out to see the house we were going to buy in Iowa! So, obviously nervous, I started searching the web to find someone reliable and trustworthy to help us buy a house 1,666 miles away. We found Mark Charter on Yelp-- there was a review that sounded extremely honest and sincere about how wonderful Mark was, so immediately I called him and NO REGRETS. He first started by telling us about the great places to live, especially for a growing family. When I would send him listings, he was very responsive and quick to go check out the house for us. We felt like we were seeing the houses in person as he would Facetime us when he would get to the property; he was always very professional when showing us the properties, but more importantly, extremely honest! We had searched for a home for about one month and were getting a bit nervous to find "the one" and also have the opportunity to get the house as the market has been very competitive all over the place here in Des Moines, IA. One afternoon, Mark contacted us about a home that was listed "For Sale by Owner"-- this is the home we are now living in! It matched our California expectations perfectly! We were very excited the day we moved in-- new state, new home, new baby! When we moved in the first day, it happened that the air conditioner had an issue and was not working and it just had to fall on one of the hottest days in the summer! Mark and his team member, Sarah, worked extremely hard to get someone out that same Friday evening to the house to fix the air conditioner! It was fixed and Sarah even delivered us extra filters to keep use in our home for the first six months or so-- amazing team and amazing hearts. We definitely plan to use Mark and his team when we sell our home in the future. Thank you Mark and Sarah for an AMAZING experience!

What do you want to experience when you attempt to sell your house? Do you want to hire someone your family knows or a friend that has a real estate license? Do you like the comfort of familiarity? Or do you want to hire someone who is an experienced home seller with real evidence to back it. One is based on emotion. One is based on making a wise business decision for your family. Heres the deal with working with someone familiar. You might know them personally. You might be able to call your mom and tell her how its going working with her best friend (that one she recommended who had a real estate license, but average success selling homes and not much to distinguish themselves from any other realtor). If you want that experience, youre going with your emotions and youre not making a business decision. With Mark, what you do get? Someone whos going to sell your house. Mark is a businessman. Hes in the business of selling houses. And hes damn good at it. Look at the reviews! Thats just a fraction of who he works with. There are even more 5 star reviews on Angieslist, a paid subscription site used to find great service. My personal experience with Mark had these great things associated with it (there are more but my review is getting long) 1) no open houses. Mark is about vetted potential buyers who are ready to pull the trigger on a house. 2) I picked his 7% package and he hired movers to move me. Painless. Amazing. 3) around 30 showings in the first two weeks of being listed, and a buyer two weeks from the day of my house being placed on the market. 4) a team behind mark who assisted with making the process painless and fast 5) mostly e-documents to sign. No scanning crap. Sweet 6) peace of mind. Reviews, slick website, business mindset - all traits of Marks business. I didnt want touchy feely. I wanted a sold house. Look guys the choice is obvious. Ive laid it out for you as many have. Do yourself a favor and save some headaches. Choose Mark Charter.

We would describe Mark Charter in one word - AWESOME. He sold our home in two days for full asking price. We even received two offers! Mark did an outstanding job from start to finish. He met with us several months ahead of time and provided advice on how to get our home ready to sell. When it came time to list our home, he did his research and priced it right, while at the same time providing honest and tactful advice. His professional designer and stager, Darcy, met with us just prior to the listing. We loved her advice and felt it made a big difference in our home selling so quickly. Mark used a professional photographer which resulted in high quality photos that helped our home look great in the listing. These are part of his standard services – no extra fees! When it came to looking for a new home, we had just over one month until closing on the sale of our existing home. We were also under a time crunch with a new baby on the way. Mark navigated this with ease. We looked at many options and Mark never rushed us to make a decision. He was an advocate for us and helped us find a great home for our family. Mark is smart, ambitious and works hard for his clients. His strategy is fresh and full of energy – he stands apart in the sea of sameness. He also offers lots of extra perks and benefits. From a professional photographer and stager to make your home look great, to a free moving truck and moving service. We even met with Darcy again in our new home for decorating tips – twice and for free! What other realtor offers that? Mark is terrific at what he does. He’s honest and cares about his clients. He can match your pace while considering a move a year out, or put in the effort and navigate through a time crunch, like he did for us. We have recommended him to many friends and family, who all have been very pleased. You can’t go wrong with Mark! He is central Iowa’s most recommend realtor for a reason!

We had been casually looking at homes through Zillow and open houses, and tentatively met with a local realtor to begin the process. However, we were underwhelmed with their guidance, and a friend recommended that we meet with Mark to re-start our home search. We met with Mark at his office after work and spent about 45 minutes talking with him about our ‘wants’ in a new home. He provided us with an immediate list of possibilities and answered several of our questions about various areas in Ankeny. The next day we provided him with a list of several addresses to arrange for in-home viewings, and two days later, Mark drove us around to six in-home walk-throughs. We loved the first house we saw, and then met with him two days later for a second walk-through. The next evening, we met with him at his office to submit an offer on the house. In each instance, he was personally available both in-person and by email, and we were completely satisfied by his guidance along the way. He was available at seemingly all hours by email or phone, and we felt that we were well-represented during the negotiation with the sellers. Mark provided a straightforward and seamless experience to purchasing a home. In addition, he even provided us with use of a free moving truck to haul our things from Des Moines to Ankeny. On a personal note, we truly enjoyed our encounters with Mark. He is professional, prepared, and reliable. Just as importantly, he is personable and relatable. We spent a long time privately preparing to look for the right house, and a rather short time deciding that he would be the realtor to guide us through the process. Mark provided us with a wealth of practical information, but we also found that we enjoyed talking with him about baseball, baby monitors, and whatever else was on our minds. While purchasing a home is an important life decision, we found that it can also be a pleasant experience! Chris and Ellen Myers
