1st ever experience with Midas & I couldnt be more pleased!! Already well overdue for an oil change, I heard on the radio that Midas was having their Grand Opening today (on Nash FM 97.3!), so I decided to go & check it out. With all the great stuff Grand Openings can bring (i.e. freebies, food etc.) set aside - the service was phenomenal from start to finish. I was given a pricing for my oil change up front, but when I realized that I received a lot more than just an oil change, I got a little nervous to be perfectly honest. Ive never been taken over to my car to have the mechanic go over what all he did to it (which was more than just change the oil!), let alone have him show me a few other things he noticed so I was at least aware - but there wasnt any "pushing" for me to have them do anything more either. As Im about to get my total Im thinking "How much is that really going to cost me after THAT..?!" But guess what?? It ended up $10 less than what they said because we donated $5 to the Food Bank to "Drive Out Hunger", plus I got all the paperwork for everything they did (& what they didnt but still covered with me) - & I got brand new wipers to boot!! Thanks Midas (& welcome to Ankeny!)!!! :)

If you are looking for a mechanic that values customer service and safety, do NOT go to the Midas on SW Oralabor Rd in Ankeny. My car smells like burning which is likely being caused by an oil leak, so I drove to the nearest Midas to get it checked out. They close at 5 on Saturdays, but I was able to arrive by 4:30. Knowing that they likely wouldnt have time to fix it before closing time, I asked if they at least had time to do an inspection to see how serious the leak is and where it is coming from. The response I got? "Ohhh, sorry, we cant look at it tonight because were cleaning up for the day. You could come back on Monday or Tuesday though." They still had 30 minutes until closing time, all but one of the car ports were vacant, and there were plenty of mechanics standing around that could have looked at my car. Obviously, the man I talked to does not care about making sure that their customers cars are safe to drive if they are not able to repair it the same day. Thanks for the terrible service! I will not be returning to have my car repaired at this shop and I most certainly will not recommend that anyone go to this establishment.

I use to go to a Midas in MN and absolutely loved the place. My experience at the Ankeny Midas couldnt be more different sadly... the staff was friendly, but after that EVERYTHING else was poor to say the least. They couldnt change my tires as one was "seized" on and would require an extra $50 to remove even though tire change was supposed to be included in oil change deal. I went home and had not issues at all doing the tire change my self. They couldnt check my air filter as the bolt had battery corrosion on it. Again, I went home used a steal brush an boom it was back to being good as new.... Will have to find a new shop to do my work as this place definitely wont ever be getting my business again.

Taking a trip from Minneapolis to Colorado and had some car trouble. It was over heating and we were very concerned going forward, gave a call to Dan over at midas, and from the very first sentences over the phone you could tell he was kind and non dismissive, unlike some other places we tried calling. Shop is super nice, very friendly staff, from Dan to the owner! After having a mechanic diagnose the problem, Dan walked us out there into the shop, showed us what and where the problem was, showed us the solution and cost! After fixing it the mechanic found another problem and fixed that for free! GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PEOPLE, WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE HAVING CAR DIFFICULTIES! 5 STARRRRRR

Ive been to just about every oil change place in Ankeny and this place is now at the top of my list. Free WiFi in the waiting area, bottled water, and SUPER friendly staff are among the many reasons I will be returning. I was given an estimate on my brakes, but not pressured at all into any more sales or extra frills. I got my oil changed and a quote that I requested. This was an all around awesome experience and a super inexpensive oil change with a free tire rotation. I will be returning for all my oil changes from here on out!

Very professional, fair, and worked quickly.i brought the car in to get an alignment after installing new steering parts. After the inspection they found the alignment was going to take extra work. They were able to do it cheaper than I thought it would be and were informative about what they needed to do to make the alignment right. The car drives great now!

Ive had several vehicles there and the service is always done right. They have always allowed me to go into the shop and see what is being done. Im familiar with the vehicles and work on them myself so I know what needs to be done and theyve never tried to pull anything on me. I definitely recommend this location as I trust the people there.

Brakes went out on my old truck. I called Midas and they were quick to get my truck in and replace all the brake lines. Speedy, helpful, and professional! I will most definitely use them again.
