We had an amazing experience with Colony this week! Near the end of last week we realized our AC had stopped working - we were expecting it to give us trouble sometime soon considering its age when we bought the house (30+ year old unit!). Being that Im 8 1/2 months pregnant and heard it was suppose to get super hot (90+ degrees!) soon, we started calling around to see who could come ASAP and check it out. My husband set up an appt with Colony and Monday we had a tech come by and check it out and surmised the unit had a broken fan among other things and suggested we not put the money into fixing it (would be about 600 dollars for repair!) and look at getting a new one. He also noted that our heater had a crack in it as well, and suggested replacing that (Just as old as the AC!). Knowing that we were going to need to replace them rather soon anyway and its better to replace both at the same time, we agreed that we needed to look into estimates for new units! Within an hour Colony had sent out another fella who checked out both units and gave us an estimate. He made sure to leave pamphlets about the new machines we would be getting as well as explain the repair process (which included moving our water heater for extra space for the heater) as well as the fact that wed receive a rebate from the energy companies for upgrading. He noted that they were pretty busy business wise and that they were working on getting more techs to assist with installing/repair and that it may be a while if we decided to go with them to get them installed (but noted down about the soon to be born baby in our family!). Welp, the guy called a few hours later to tell me that they were available the next day for repair (they had put us on the short list because of the baby). With that sort of turn around and how polite/professional both technicians had been, we happily agreed (I was especially excited to not have to deal with the weekend heat :) ). The next morning the guys were here bright and early and got to work removing our old units and installing the new ones. Both of them were super polite and professional, and once they were done even showed both my husband and I what they had done, how to maintain the new units as well as point out while moving our water heater there had been a leak caused by lime buildup that he investigated and fixed! Overall, Id highly recommend Colony! All the employees that both my husband and I have interacted with had been polite and professional, and they certainly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable in our home with brand new AC and heating units! As new home owners in the area I think we found our go to guys for just about any repair :)

Had an appt to service our furnace prior to the upcoming heating season. The tech failed to realize that our water heater was down stream from the furnace that he had shut the gas off to, while doing his work. So I got to wake up to a cold shower the next morning, along with the rest of my family of 5. I called right away and talked to an answering service. They said they would contact a tech. I called them at 9:30 that morning after hearing nothing. Tammy in the service department told me a truck was indeed stopping out today. I asked her how I was supposed to know this. She said they had our number and would call. I told her I was at work and wouldnt be home until 2:30. She said they would be out then. She couldnt get off the phone fast enough. After no one showed up, I called back to talk with Tammy in service and she said the appt was for 2:30 or later and that they had a lot of no heat calls to go to first and she was sorry. By this time I was highly displeased as you can imagine. I received no apologies for the error, no decent attempt to correct the error, and basically was told you will wait until we take care of these other higher priority calls ahead of you. Needless to say, I shared my displeasure with Tammy and miraculously enough, a tech showed up 16 minutes later. It took about 5 minutes and he got the pilot going. If you look at the website, the front page brags about their dedication to customer satisfaction and commitment to customer service. I have emailed the president, Doug K., to share my feedback and 6 days later still have not received a response. I have had a fireplace wood stove insert installed by this company and Ive also had a blower motor replaced on my furnace. I will not be using them again for any HVAC or fireplace needs at my house. Nor will I have any positive comments to share with friends and family. I bumped my review to 3 stars as the company president replied to my email and waived all fees, provided a $50 gift cert to a local pizza place, and promised that all involved were made aware of the situation. That is a genuine response to fix a problem and was appreciated.

Do not use this company. I paid for a new central air system, they installed one too small for my house, installed it incorrectly that started a fire in my house. They fixed the bare minimum and lied to me and told me the electrical popping behind the thermostat and the unit sounding like a jet engine was normal. After about six years of nursing it along it finally failed completely and the same board in my furnace is fried again after it was replaced after the fire they started. Called Doug the GM and spent 20 minutes of him trying blame the failure on anything but their incompetence and lies. Also found out I was told they were installing a 5 ton and they installed a 3 ton... So a grossly undersized unit that was damaged during install breaks down and its my fault and I need to come up with thousands more to pay for them to install another unit... Its 95 degrees this weekend and Doug let me know that I was going to have a hot weekend and its not his problem. He was gloating over the suffering of my family in this heat. If you love your home and family, this is not the company to use. Far more interested in blaming anyone else instead of accepting responsibility for the gross incompetence and deception of his employees.

I have no problem with the service I received from this company. The tech came after hours and fixed the problem that night. However, their accounting department is horrible! I called the next day after service to pay half of the money I owed them, due to my husband being paid multiple times a month. As a young couple with a baby, we dont have $500 just laying around to pay for these emergency expenses. I explained to the lady that I would call back at the end of the month to pay the remainder of my balance. Instead of waiting for me to call back, the office took it in their hands and just ran my CC. This resulting in me over drawing in my account and having to move money around from my savings accounts. When I called to see if she could credit the money back due to not having authorization to run my card, she said there was nothing that could be done. I would love to have completed fraudulent paperwork, as my bank recommended, but found it to be waste of my time. All I could do is promise, I will never do business with this company again. Ill stick with Brandt or Kelly.
