Ive used Master Plumbing, Heating & Air service (MP Hereafter) many times. I purchased a fixup house, and found out there were many plumbing issues that needed to be resolved. I tried another local Cedar Rapids Plumbing Company, that had decent Angies List Ratings, and I was left with a large bill and shoddy service. After that instance, I started to use MP services. The MP jobs included architecting and installing a new bath/shower, unclogging the main drain, leaking outside faucets caused by ‘13/14 Winter, replacement of shutoff valves that were leaking, and a video scope of my drains to determine any potential problems such as roots. I highly recommend the video. They have high tech cameras that can capture the state of your drains. In my past experience with MP, the process follows these steps 1) Call to schedule a service appointment. They are very professional about reaching out to their servicemen to see who may be available. They will in turn return your call to provide you with service as soon as possible. 2) When the serviceman arrives (Always on time), he/she will analyze the problem and describe the detail with you so that you will completely understand what the issue is and what it takes to fix it. 3) After both parties understand the problem and what it takes to fix it, MP will show you the itemized bill with a breakdown of parts and labor before the work starts. 4) After the work is complete, the serviceman will explain exactly what has been completed and suggestions for preventative maintenance. Ive actually learned a lot about plumbing via their discussions. Overall, I will only choose MP for any service that’s covered under their scope of work. They show respect for their clients, charge at a reasonable rate, and stand by their work (Ive never had any problems with their service, but they offer a warranty on their service).

Our experience with Master Plumbing of Cedar Rapids Iowa has been excellent. We first employed them for the remodel of a powder room. They had worked with our contractor, whose attention to detail we trusted, so we figured we would follow his suggestion. That experience was very satisfying, and we have continued our relationship with Master ever since. They have done small jobs and repairs, each time giving us the same prompt attention and leaving us pleased with the quality of their work, their promptness of response time, and their attention to us as customers. When it came to the recently completed remodel of our only full bath, there was no question that we would retain Master Plumbing for the job. From the start when we were developing ideas through several changes in design, fixture styles and finishes, and working around other workers’ schedules, we were convinced and reassured that their main interest was in us having the bathroom the way we wanted it to be. This was not only a convenience factor; we were doing this remodel to allow us to live in our house well into our later years (we are both in our mid-sixties). Our house is a classic Arts and Crafts style home built in 1915. We wanted the bathroom to reflect the character of what a bathroom may have looked like when the house was built. Everyone we worked with – Tom, Mary Jo, and Aaron - understood that goal, and went out of their way to help us achieve it. The bathroom “works” – not only the plumbing and the fixtures, but also the look and feel of it. My wife describes it as a room that exudes serenity when you enter it. Our friends knew what the “before” looked like, and are awed by the transformation. We never hesitate to tell them that Master Plumbing was a great partner to work with to bring about the change. Last week, we encountered two plumbing issues at our house in the same day - and Master Plumbing did a fantastic job for both. For the first job, they were able to squeeze me in the schedule on a Thursday afternoon, and Dakota and one of the field managers came out to fix a severe pipe vibration. They came up with two options to resolve the problem, and luckily, the cheaper one was sufficient to resolve the issue. They worked efficiently and were able to do the repair quickly. Around 9pm that day, we discovered the main sewer line was clogged (it’s most likely that running water earlier in the day simply revealed the pre-existing issue). Everything was backing up and flooding the basement with nasty water, so we called Master Plumbing, and John came out. (Thanks to the Green Card Membership, we saved $150 by not having to pay the off-hours service fee.) He worked until around midnight, finally clearing the drain after some innovative tricks. When the job was done and John was taking equipment back out to the truck, I was impressed that he had even put booties on the wheels of the snaking machine to keep the rest of the house relatively clean after a dirty plumbing job! Thank you John for coming out to rescue us from the plumbing emergency! We appreciate all the details that sets Master Plumbing apart from the rest! From the moment they enter our home, with booties to keep our home clean, to the up-front pricing before work is done (no surprises!), efficient work with all their tools and supplies in the truck, and email quotes/receipts straight from their tablet, they are truly professionals. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

I cant say enough good things about their service and business. Great company, very competent and honest. Would recommend them to anyone. I had a furnace issue, I came home on a Friday evening to find the thermostat was dead. I sent an email via their web form saying I would like a call Monday. I got a call first thing Monday from Brittany and she sent someone right out. The tech, Jamie, was friendly and professional, even put on little booties before walking in. After diagnosing what he thought was the issue, he got the part and installed it straight away. The furnace still wasnt working. He worked for quite a while and finally found the motherboard wasnt giving a signal. The new motherboard was expensive enough I thought a new furnace was in order, why put $900 into an older furnace. Jamie confirmed this was likely a good option, but stressed they could just replace the motherboard. I ordered a $2600 system, I wanted the peace of mind. Fast forward one week. Two techs show up to install my furnace, Brett and Bob. I show them the furnace, they get to work. A half hour later, Brett comes up; they found the issue, it wasnt the motherboard. My furnace was fixable, no parts needed. They fixed it, no charge. They could have just replaced my furnace, I would have never known the difference. They could have charged me a service fee, for coming out; but they didnt. They saved me $2600 and earned a devoted customer. You cant put a price on that kind of integrity, honesty and service. I just want to let you now what a great experience we had with your company. After my 89 year old mother broke her hip we decided we needed to change their bathtub/shower combo to a step in shower. We contacted Master Plumbing and visited with Mary Jo Kloft. Because we were dealing with an old tub unit, she had me send pictures and measurements. This is a very small bathroom and tub unit, but after much searching she found us the perfect match. What I really appreciated about Mary Jo was how quickly she found what we needed, that she invited my mother and me to the store so she could show my mother what her new unit was going to look like and how accessible it would be for her and my father, and then she set a date right away to start the job. The remodel was a stressful step for my parents and Mary Jo made them feel totally comfortable and confident with the project. Then Aaron Morrison came and started the job exactly on the day we were promised he would be there. He took care not to get the house dirty, made my parents feel comfortable, did a great job installing the shower unit, and even did some dry walling and tiling that wasnt in the original job order. He was so careful to put all the grab bars, seat and fixtures where they would most easy use. My parents live 45 miles from Cedar Rapids and Aaron even stayed late one day so that they would have use of the shower the next day. Please know that if we need help again, your company will be the first one we call Carol Eggert
