Dinner for 6, 3 adults and 4 kids. Starting out everything went well. We were sat at a round table, waitress took our drink orders. When we got our pitcher of water, there was only enough water to fill 6 of the small glasses, I waited for the next pitcher. Waitress didnt come back for quite a while, so my husband got up to get some water. When we ordered our food, everything went smoothly. We got the home style fixings brought to us, in single serving sized dishes, which was only enough for the kids to have some, and we were all expected to share these. Then we watched the table that came in after us, with a different server, get larger dishes, so they were all able to get some. Our table needed a refill, and we had to wait too long. We waited for our food patiently, just to see the tables who came in after us being served before us. Then, when we finally got our food, it was cold from sitting out too long. We didnt ask for anything, my husband just politely said he wasnt eating it, and that it needs to be taken off the bill. We were argued with, not that we were wrong, but the staff kept insisting that we order something else. This became embarrassing. Hopefully, this is an isolated incident, but the food is really expensive, for these kind of mistakes to happen at all.

Just an average experience. Went on a Saturday around 11. Expected to wait 30 minutes which it was. Not an issue. Those who were seating people were less than happy with the exception of a young blond girl, who looked her part and acted very well around the guests. Waiting area was crammed, it was a rainy day so everyone inside had to stand in the way to ensure no one could get around them. Got sat about 45 minutes later. Went with the breakfast buffet as it was something I wanted to try. Wife did this a well. Typically ended at 1pm. At noon it looked liked it was getting its last rights. Got a little bit of sausage gravy for my hash browns, was the best thing inn the serving containers, too bad my scoop was all that was good on that. Went up a second time for more sausage gravy. This, time they filled it but with watered down peppered gravy instead no sausage. Wait staff was noon existent til the end. Took our order left menus at the table since there was only two of us and wasnt that inconvient, words from dressed up farmer Bob. Refills didnt happen until we were almost done, then it was like push us out for the next herd to sit down. Doubt Ill go back anytime soon.

Was there for wedding rehearsal dinner. This reservation was set up many months in advance. We had a group of about 45 50 people at 4 large tables on 8 14 15. I can say the food is very good. That was the best roast beef ive ever had. Soft moist it melted in my mouth. The reason for the 1 star is each table had problems with the staff. My table had trouble with getting drinks and refills for our water. The brides table and groomsmen table had trouble getting food with several people at the groomsmen table not getting food at all. Many did not get ice cream for desert because some of the staff didnt ask all the guests at the tables if they wanted ice cream. When the ice cream came out and those who were not asked if they wanted ice cream asked the staff if they could also get ice cream. They were told sorry cant do it cause the ordering phase is over. The grooms family paid a good deal of money for many of their family and friends to be treated poorly. Great food but will not eat there again because of the poor treatment by the staff.

The food is fantastic! I grew up on a farm, and the food they serve at the Machine Shed is so much better than my memories of home cooked meals (why people are compairing it to "Cracker Barrel" is beyond me, their food and service at Machine Shed far surpasses the "cracker barrel" any day). They have very large portions, so bring your appetite. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful, and the living farm outside of the restaurant is great! The only draw back to eating at this wonderful restaurant, is that you will only have taste buds for Machine Shed food, once youve finished a meal there. I live no where close to Iowa, but travel from Texas to Wisconsin (and back again) about once a year. This is the main stop that has to be made, every trip (both going to and coming from Wisconsin). I cant wait for the day that a Machine Shed comes to Texas. Once or Twice a year of eating at the Machine Shed is not enough for me.

Food was great, and the place is nice. But the service I received on this visit (08/26/17), was what disappointed us. The time they took to stop by our table and start taking our drink order was unbelievably long. We had to signal the hostess to send someone to our table and she helped us. I believe customer service is in the little things. They didnt pour water on our cups and I had to do it myself and ended up spilling water. All over the table. We ordered soup, they didnt bring us a spoon for soup. Plus, when we had left overs they gave us boxes and the waitress didnt bother to ask if we needed a bag. She was definitely focused on other guests, and didnt really made much effort to provide stellar service to us. I hope this helps them improve their service. Normally they are warm and nice, so I hate to see their quality go down.

I have been here 4 times now and have been extremely happy for 3 of my visits. One was juat eh, full lunch rush busy staff etc. But tonight was great! We came in with our 2 year old sleeping in my arms and immediately the usher knew we would want a big booth for our daughter to sleep in, and also made sure she had crayons ready for when she would wake. When our waitress came she was extremely understanding and talked in a lower tone so she would not wake her. She was attentive and brought our daughter milk right away, did not bring our daughters food until she woke up and made sure we had everything we needed when we needed it. Both of those women deserve a raise! And the food was perfect! We got the fried chicken salad and they were made perfectly and the portions were HUGE! I will always vote to eat here.

The food was great. Had a nice waitress name sandy. But the manager Jim Lopez seems to have a problem with black people. We observed him going to all the tables asking customer how was the food . when got by our he held his head and turn to keep from looking at us. Every time he walked by. Which was rude!!! He made us felt some kind of way our money spend just like everybody else money. We left the restaurant and he was standing at the front and glimpse , then turn to the other manger pretending he was conversation. But we where walking out !!!!! The world live in it changed a little but some folks are still in that time !!!! Smh...advised no blacks to go there!!!!! People like that dont need a job such as Jim the in professional manager!!!! Mad customer!!!
