,We contacted Adam, owner and operator of Premier Construction, after purchasing a lakefront home that had a beautiful yard and views, but was outdated and not large enough for our family of 6. We had read good reviews about Adam and his crew so decided to give him a call. He arrived at the time he said he would and was very friendly and listened to what we envisioned for our home. He immediately had ideas and knew what would work and what wouldnt. For example, I mentioned vaulted ceilings in the addition. He explained that while possible, the look from the street would be odd since the original roof was low. I appreciated that because I did not want something that looked out of place or didnt blend in with the existing home. He listened and got back got to us in a timely manner with an estimate and computer drawings of what the addition would look like -eliminating the need for an architect. His price was very fair and he tried hard to keep his price low. For example, he reused 2 large existing windows, thus saving us from having to buy 2 additional windows. He was very easy to work with and did not overcharge us for making a few changes along the way. He also did work in the original part of the house- eliminating popcorn ceilings, changing all the doors and woodwork, tearing out an oversized fireplace, combining 2 bedrooms into one, tearing out the bulkhead in the kitchen, and adding a peak to the roof of the house for added curb appeal. We were impressed by the people who worked for him. They were quite skilled and did great work. His foreman, Mike, was especially nice and made sure that everything was done right. Overall, we are very pleased with Adam and Premier Construction and highly recommend them. We would not hesitate to use them again. Our house has reached its full potential now and we absolutely love the addition. It is so beautiful and suits our needs perfectly!

As a third party person in this situation, Im extremely confused as to how Adam has any employees that would want to work for him. The way he treated my husband and his coworker that came to their house to do a hired job was completely unacceptable. To be an owner of a business I would think he would know how to treat people with dignity and respect. While these men were working hard doing a skilled job for their families benefit, he not only was insulting, but made several snide and degrading comments directly to their faces. I am truly surprised that this individual had the audacity to treat perfect strangers, working hard for their wages, as if they were less than human in his eyes. I will not forget the harsh and uncalled for words and actions this person directed at my family members for doing a hired job, and will advocate to not use his services for any reason due to this. From the neighbors, to the other hired trades doing work on his property, and to his own wife, his entire demeanor represents someone of no character.

These guys were great! Responsive, fair and enthusiastic... At my request they came out to my home in Ames and put together a great plan for re-doing my deck into a high-end three season room. The guys at Premier also worked with my homeowners association and the city to make sure the plan conformed to all their ordinances and guidelines....it was a challenge! Once we got to that point, which took a tremendous effort on Premiers part, they gave me a very competitive and tempting quote. Unfortunately, I had to put the project on hold due to other commitments that arose during that time and because the HOA put such limitations on the project that I ultimately could not justify it. I regretted not being able to work with Premier any further on that project, but if I have the occasion to have construction done in Ames again, I will turn to Premier first...they were great!

You will not regret working with Adam and his wonderful crews! We had our driveway poured, a new deck built and a new aluminum fence built around our property using NFC funds. It was a truly wonderful experience. We were ignored by many contractors because it was an NFC project, but Adam was excited to help us improve our historic home. When we closed on the loan his crew was there THE NEXT DAY doing demo and setting up for the projects. All three projects were finished in three weeks. Every crew we worked with was friendly and professional. If I had any questions or concerns, Adam responded IMMEDIATELY to my text, which built a wonderful trusting relationship with him. I cannot WAIT to use Premier Services for future projects and will recommend them to all of my home owning friends!

Simply put - Adam is a man of his word. Adam and I met to discuss adding a room (20 x 16) and the need to have it completed by a specified date for my mothers 87th birthday party. He completed everything in less than three weeks exceeding the expected date! He is very knowledgeable offering ideas to make the addition exactly as I had pictured. His crews were very professional, respectful of my home, polite and answered any questions I had. Adam stopped by frequently to make sure everything was going smoothly and my expectations were met.
