They were contracted by the city to redo our neighborhoods streets, sewer system, and water system. In the process they had to redo our driveways, causing our driveway to look like two different colors, since they only replace what they break, and they missed areas of dead grass that should have been replaced with sod, the dead grass due to their employees leaving all their junk on our lawn for weeks. On numerous occasions I was trying to get back to my house and I was forced to turn around, because there would be someone in their truck, blocking off the road, as they chat and joke around with another worker leaning into the drivers side window. There wasnt any working going around the area at that time so blocking it off for working reasons was not the case. Also, on numerous occasions, workers would park their trucks directly behind my driveway while they go chat with someone, causing me, once, to walk out in the rain and mud to flag them down to move their car. By the time I got them to move my car, I was already late to get to school or work. I understand an honest mistake, but happening 3-4 times? This is completely unacceptable. Pull over if you want to talk to your buddy. Do NOT block off the road or my driveway and do NOT force me to turn around and go through another road. Overall, I would never want to go through this again, and I cannot wait for them to finish.

S M Hentges & Sons Inc has been working on an extensive Highway 4 reconstruction project in St. James, Minnesota this year. This company not only puts emphasis on the highest quality work but also really cares about the people in our community. Our business, Dons Tire Service, has had construction on all sides of our property yet we have had no noticeable loss of business. S M Hentges & Sons Inc has made sure that our customers always have good access. Their attention to details is outstanding and the work has been progressing ahead of schedule. Many locals have remarked that we could not have selected a better company to work on this major project. The City of St. James will truly be a gem thanks to this company. Their employees are the best!

The company did work for the City of Richfield and replaced my driveway as part of the road construction. They did a very poor job on finishing the concrete as it was installed late in November 2015 and has marks all over the surface. Went to court but because it is not structural impact, the case was lost. I am now stuck with poor quality work on my driveway. I would not recommend them for anyone to hire them or accept bids. They dont accept responsibility for the quality of work that they do. They also damaged my driveway with their bobcat when they redid the front yard. A very poor company to work with as they dont fix the issues that they cause.
