Hes not a fan of those with very little computer literacy. Although I was very polite and accommodating to him when he came over to work on my computer, he was immediately abrupt with me, if not downright rude. He DID fix the problem with my computer(and I am very happy about this), but was otherwise pretty disinterested in keeping things civil and cordial. Just to be specific, I had some bugs in my iTunes, the result of my computer being second-hand, and rather haphazardly organized by its former owner (files in all sorts of different places), and it made for a rather long shift for Dave. And to put it plainly, he basically of took his frustrations out on me. After walking on eggshells for more than 2 hours, and accommodating him in every way I possibly could, he finally left. As he brushed right by me with hardly a word of thanks (for my patronage), or even a simple goodbye, I asked him one more quick question as he walked to his car. He looked up, replied "Yes", and then without another word, drove away. Again, to be clear, he was this way with me from the moment he arrived at my house, before he even first sat down to look at the problem (so Im thinking he might have been having a bad day, anyway). Now Ive read some of the other reviews posted here, and am glad he was such a great help to so many other people. However, my suggestion to anyone who is as much a novice as I was at the time, would be this: either learn your way around a computer before you make that call, or be ready to hire someone else, just in case.

I called Doctor Dave for the first time about a year and a half ago. He came to our home, was very polite, and proceeded to work on my desktop computer. He not only worked on my desktop, but my laptop at the same time. Dave also took notes on each computer so that he could keep record of what he had fixed on each computer so when I called again, he would know what he had done on both computers. Dave was AMAZING. He worked on BOTH computers at the SAME time, while also taking notes. I have not had a problem with my computers again until today. I emailed Dave today, and described what issues I was having with my computer and asked for an opinion on what I should do. Dave responded today, the same day I emailed him, and he told me what to try and.....SUCCESS!! Rather than saying, I need to look at your computer to determine what is wrong, he gave me FREE ADVICE, and I was able to fix my computer without delay and extra expenses. Dave is honest, reliable, and a superb computer technician. I would, and will tell anyone I know to go to Dave to get their computer fixed!!

Its been a rough year, so when technology challenges were added to the mix... argh! DoctorDave has been my super hero. Patient and compassionate, as well as knowledgeable and skillful. A few months ago when my Mac laptop temporarily died, Dave worked hard to diagnose, then to capture and transfer documents to a new hard drive. (With a gentle reminder that I really needed regular backup, which I now have.) And he sent me, with discount coupon in hand, to MissionRepair for a part that they stock and could quickly install. This week when my Mac laptop went offline, and my husband did all the sleuthing he could, Dave determined the solution, a new router that he could not sell to us, but he told me some places that could. And he refused any payment for the time spent in the multiple communications with me which lead us to the solution. I cant say enough good things about DoctorDave. So I guess Ill stop here :-)

Dr. Dave is, hands down, the best tech person I have ever encountered. He swoops in, saves the day, and bounds off with a smile. First, he knows his stuff. Second, anything he doesnt know off the top of his head, he researches and gets back to you. Third, he is completely honest about what the problem is and the chances of fixing it and the cost of fixing it. Fourth, he is RELIABLE -- returns phone calls and emails, shows up when he says he will. Fifth, goes out of his way to be helpful. He has given me recommendations about hardware and software and eagerly shares tips and tricks to make my computer life easier. Finally, he is unbelievably patient and sympathetic, and NEVER scolds you or makes you feel inadequate (weve all dealt with those tech people.) I cant say enough good about him, or recommend him highly enough.

Thank you Dave! Was having an issue with my PC, spoke with the maker (HP) and my antivirus (webroot), they both told me it was a problem with Windows 7. Webroot was willing to send out one of their guys for a sizable fee to basically uninstall windows 7 and reinstall, potentially losing any unsaved data. I elected to give Dr. Dave a try instead. It turned out to not be an easy fix, took some time to diagnose, but eventually he determined that it was actually Webroot causing problems at startup. Anyway, he got me fixed up, and even sold me a large external hard drive and helped me back up all of my data, and set an automatic backup schedule as well. And he sold me the hard drive at a considerable discount, as he had purchased it at a cheap price before a recent price jump. Very moral thing to do. Long story short, Dr. Dave rocks!

I have known Dave for a number of years--- even before I needed computer services. But when the time came, he was the first and only choice. There is no such thing as bad service or money that is not well spent when Dr Dave is on the case. Solutions--not excuses. You will find ONLY ONE negative review on this site and I would be willing to bet that it was posted by a competitor that wants to be like Dave. There has never been an occasion when I did not receive a reply in a reasonable amount of time. Missed appointment? Pfffft! Never happens. Aside from being a computer whiz, he is one of the friendliest and most polite people I know. Get him to work on your computer and keep him on speed dial! You wont be disappointed.

Dr Dave came from Lawrence to Topeka to help me with my computer problems. He is a really great guy and I would recommend him whole heartedly. He solved all of my problems. Recently when I needed a new external hard drive I talked to him on the phone and he told me the type to buy and where to order it. It was a perfect recommendation for me. He offered to help me install it over the phone but it was so easy to install that I was able to do it myself. I offered to pay him for talking to me on the phone and giving me the recommendation but he would not charge me. I would definitely give him the highest rating!! If you have a computer problem he is a great one to call!! I would not call anyone else!!
