We used get a move on twice. Our first experience was good. 2 guys, 1 truck, $86 an hour. Took about 2 hours. Was late about an hour. Only broke 2 items. Didnt want the hassal so didnt file a claim. Second experience, was just to move some stuff to a storage unit, was less than 30 minutes, also a decent experience. $86 an hour. Also about an hour late, but the mover gave us a card on the side with his name a number and said he has a crew and will do it for way less than get a move on. This was a little concerning. Now, we were attempting to use them a 3rd time. Clearly we had accumulated more things, but, before they even came out to quote us they were pushing 4 guys and 2 trucks at $189 an hour. When the guy, Eric, I believe, came out he said Ive been doing this 15 years, (very cocky) Ive got a pretty good eye. We can send 1 truck two guys but you NEED 2 guys 4 trucks $189 an hour and well give ya a 5% discount! Grand total quoted $1055.00. So, we decided to call around, we found 2 other companies with the ability to get our stuff on one truck, with MUCH lower prices. We called to cancel today and they did not want to know why so we offered our reasoning. The man we spoke with did not answer our questions and ran all around the facts. He didnt even attempt to save us. VERY disappointed considering this would have been our 3rd and biggest move with this company. We found a company that offered 1 truck, 3 guys, $130 an hour. Get a move on charges at or around $150 an hour for 3 guys. And yes the new company we chose pads and wraps our items just as Get a Move on. I wouldnt recommend or use this company again.

We used this firm for a move from Wichita to NM. Everything went well until it was time to make two minor repairs on items damaged during the move. The crew locked a roll top desk in error with the key inside and broke a corner off of a coffee table. When we said we needed a locksmith, they did their best to slow roll us until I said I would stop the payment. The locksmith called within an hour. The second went on for 10 weeks. We would call or write and no response. Finally wrote them last Friday and said I would be contacting referral sources and govt agencies for their failure to pay for the damages. Surprise, surprise, the company president called that day. Offered some money and claimed he had been trying to contact us, but no one answered the phone. No change to our phone numbers or email addresses in years. Extremely disappointed in the office support provided.

They made me want to scream "get a move on!" at them. Took them four hrs to move about ten items. And they couldnt even move my piano - which I informed them I needed moved when I called. And I told them it was going to a basement at the time of the phonecall. They barely got it in the truck then once they got it in the new residence they could not get it downstairs! I had them leave it in the foyer and had to call another company to come in and finish the job. And they happily did it in a fraction of the time. I feel very taken advantage of, disrespected, and like me or my belongings do not matter to them. Oh but I did call and complain then I received my receipt with a nearly $500 charge to my credit card. Thanks for wasting my time and money you rats. I will make sure everyone I know in the Wichita area knows NOT to go to them.

I agree w the negative stars. I didnt even have much furniture or move more than a mile away. I had everything packed and ready to go so we could get it done bcuz at the time i had a full time and a part time job and was going to college full time and had no time to spare. I had a box come up missing and 3 days later my house was broken into and everything they took interest in setting up was gone like stereo system tv dvd etc buncha cds. I wouldnt have even thot bout it bn them bcuz they are nice & polite & seem like decent ppl except the box was missin and they took such interest in setting up certain things only. It took them all of an hour to move me. I still had to pay for 2 hours which i already knew and didnt complain. It is extremely upsetting tho to pay to b moved and get robbed all in a weeks time. I wont b using them ever again

Having used this business a number of times previously I recommended and facilitated the move with Get A Move On for my elderly parents to an independent living facility. After the move bed bugs were found in their apartment of which they were the first occupants. They did not have bed bugs prior to their move. The assumption was made they were in the truck during the move and transferred to the new apartment. A letter was sent asking for consideration of Get A Move On paying for the exterminators more than $700.00 fee and we have had difficult getting a response to our letter. Moving is stressful. For the elderly extremely stressful. The lack of response of this business to our concerns is unacceptable. All we asked for was consideration of our request and a response.

I had two movers, Chris and David come help me move my bedroom furniture and other huge impossibly heavy boxes. Although scheduling was off, these guys took the bed set apart, carefully wrapped the glass tops, and had everything moved extremely quickly. (also assembled my bed in better condition than it was originally assembled). They went above and beyond their normal duties as they made time efficient choices and took extra care of my favorite items (6 ft giraffe sculpture). I was nervous to be moving by myself, but these super friendly and funny guys made it seem effortless! 5 flights of stairs after 6pm and they still kept a positive attitude. I will definitely be recommending these two guys specifically!!!

I absolutely hate giving them one star because they did a great job and their prices are very reasonable. However, when they were leaving our new house they ran over my new neighbors lawn and made a rut and caused damage to their sprinkler system. They are refusing to fix it. And now its causing issues with our new neighbor. The rut in time will fix itself but the sprinkler system wont. I understand these things happen, but own up to it and fix it. I cant give a company 5 stars if they arent responsible for their actions. **update: They did fix my neighbors sprinkler system. Im putting them back at 5 stars because I think they did a great job and owned up to their mistakes:)

We made the second long distance move in our lifetime this Winter. Our first experience wasnt great so I assumed all moving companies sucked. Not true. Get a Move On was wonderful. We chose it based on price, it was the lowest of the 3 companies with which we had estimates done. But besides the price being the best, the service was also the best. From start to finish it was a breeze. Our stuff was packed carefully and professionally and delivered 2 days later. Couldnt get that kind of service from a chain moving company. The moving men were also very pleasant, professional, and personable. We had a wonderful experience.
