I have owned lots of imports, BMWs (2002 & 325i), VWs (Passat), Toyotas (Prius), Hondas (Pilot) - you name it. Dave and his crew can almost make you feel good about having car problems. They provide detailed explanations and work with you on how best to fix the car when there are alternatives. Most importantly, I trust them to do the right thing. If there is ever a questions they will always call to advise or ask which way you would like to go with the repair. Foreign cars (especially German cars) are expensive to own, but I have always felt I was treated fairly when I fork over the money and the work has been done correctly. Louisvillians are fortunate to have these guys nearby.

Had my rear flange replaced here in my Audi A4. I inspected the work after and there was coolant all over my battery, the system was not properly burped, and looks like they rushed the job. I had to buy coolant from the Audi dealership because there was still air in the system. I paid for a pressure test which pulls a vacuum on the system and should remove all the air pockets(appears they did not do this). Many of my hoses were not mounted in the factory mounts and hoses were smashed which I had to go back and fix. For as much as they over charged me you think they would have done a quality job. I am not returning to this place.

The sunroof liner of our Toyota Corolla had busted out of its rail from bumping my head on it. I took it to several car shops in Louisville, including a place that was going to charge me $250 just for labor to get it out! One of the places gave up and told me there was nothing they could do. I eventually stopped by Volksdoktor as a last resort, told them what happened, and one of their mechanics came out and took a look at the problem. He was able to jimmy it out. The guy took time out of his day to help me, and didnt even charge me anything. I highly recommend this place for car troubles!

Amazing experience all around. I chose to take my car here due to the reviews I saw here on Google and was not disappointed. It took them roughly four days to get around to my car for the inspection, which I was expecting from the reviews as well. But after the car being diagnosed, it only took them three hours to get it up and ready to be picked up. They were professional about explaining what was wrong with the car, and helping me make the proper choices on what to repair/what can wait. I will definitely bring my car here again in the future as well as recommending it to anyone as well.

This place is simply amazing, some of the friendliest and most helpful people I have ever met. My TDI had some weird issues and left me stranded near the shop but I was able to limp it there and when i pulled in it was 30 minutes past closing. The owner was locking up but he personally delayed his going home on a friday evening to help diagnose the problem and get me the parts I needed. He even went as far as calling a mechanic to confirm the diagnosis. I wont ever buy parts from anyone else.

Import Doktors did an amazing job working with the insurance company of the person that hit my husband to get the job done right! We value their 30+ years of experience and the integrity that they have shown to do an excellent job. David is very knowledgeable about diminished value and how that would impact the sell of our car in the future. Amazing service!

I took my car to Import Doktor after my front bumper broke and was almost dragging on the ground. They honestly told me exactly what the extend of the problem was and how much it cost to fix it. They did not over charge me or try to fix or create more problem that I never had. I was asked to pick my car the follow day, and I did because it was already fixed by the next day just as they promised. I am very satisfied with the service they provided me here.

First time taking my GTI to these guys & it will certainly be my last. The car needed brakes & rotors, an oil change, & they were going to rewire the radio. They have completely fried my radio due to the tech who doesnt know how to ground wires. This is day #3 that they have had my car & I still cant get a straight answer out of them as to when it will be ready to go. This is absolutely ridiculous.

The good folks at Volksdoktor (now Importdoktor) have always been more knowledgeable than anyone else in town. I used to complain about how long it takes to get an appointment...but no more. Ive literally saved thousands of dollars by taking my cars here. Ive had the opportunity to skip several migraines knowing my car is in good hands. Do yourself a favor, and take your car here.

Always knew this is where you took your Audi for dealer-priced work but subpar work at best, but now my opinion for these people is trashed by their audacity to flood craigslist with hundreds of broken car parts. Seriously, take a minute and go search "Audi" on Louisvilles Craigslist. These guys have over 200 listings of worthless car parts. Grow up and stop wasting our time.

place is a joke. Had valve work done on a car here and it took them almost 4 weeks from the time I dropped the car off til i got it back. Tried to meet the owner after hours to pay for the work when it eventually got done and he had the nerve to talk down to me as if I made he was doing me a favor by staying there. Avoid these guys if you have a major job needing to be done.

These guys have ALWAYS made us feel like family. We never feel like we are being swindled or over priced. We actually have to drive a good 45 minutes out of the way just to get our car serviced here, but the trip is always well worth it. You can rest assured that this facility will take care of your vehicle needs and give you the best possible service.

Volksdoktor has always provided accurate diagnostics and fair pricing. I had another shop say that the brakes on my Audi needed replacement, when I took it to Volksdoktor, they said that there was 40% life left and they did not need replacement yet. I respect their honesty and will continue to service my cars here!

Great place! Ive been to other mechanics for my VW bug and theyve always tried to skimp me but this place genuinely cares about you and tries to take care of you the best they can and will try to get you the lowest price possible. I know I can trust my car and my money with them I highly recommend!

This is hands-down the BEST garage Ive ever experienced. Sometimes you have to wait a while to get an appointment, but trust me, its totally worth it! Their level of customer service, speedy repairs, and quality work is second to none. Ill never take my VW Passat to any other garage.
