This has to be the worst mechanic Ive ever visited. I was treated like an idiot for attempting to make suggestions and tell them all that I knew. I was told parts were bad that were literally just replaced a week ago. I took my vehicle in on a monday and was told it would be done Tuesday, Tuesday turned into Wednesday with them stating my rebuilt carburetor need to be replaced (which was in fine condition), Wednesday turned into Thursday because of the carburetor they bought was used (they had to order it told me a 2 barrel holly would run me 500 I told them I priced a new one at 275 at OReilly Auto they said they didnt wanna order it from them because they knew the guy they were getting the refurbished one from). Thursday turned into Friday because the refurbished one THEY ordered was bad and had to order another one; after getting it on they told me that I didnt need to come pick it up because (30 minutes after telling me to come pick it up) they didnt like the way it sounded. I asked why and they said they didnt know and theyd have to run some "tests". Friday turns into Monday and they stated were not done yet well call you back. Upon returning my call (the first call out of 6 or so they promised to return) they tell me I have a "huge coolant leak" (my truck had NEVER leaked coolant prior to taking it to Harlans and was fill w antifreeze bak at the tail end of January.) They told me to hold, I held, then they told me that my timing chain was messed up and that I should replace my engine or "bring my title to them to cover the cost". Needless to say, my truck ran before I took it to Harlans, this morning I had to tow it home so I could fix what they messed up. I went in for a tune up and oil change and to see why it stalled at stops after a FULL day of running around, what I got in return was horrible service, an $814 repair bill n a $114 tow home. Dont make my mistake, learn from it and avoid this place at all costs. Id take Wal-Mart Quick Lube over Harlans any day, at least they get done what they say they will n wont destroy your vehicle.

I had a marvelous experience taking my newly acquired 2002 Chrysler 300M, christened "Katie," to Harlan Automotive. Since the dealership where I purchased Katie could not tell me if or when she had ever had transmission service I took her there to have that done. I was able to make the appointment online which was very convenient, and when I arrived there the friendly attendant presented me with a cute little computer to complete more information. The wait time in their comfortable lounge was much shorter than I had anticipated. They not only completed Katies transmission service but they also went over her very thoroughly checking out all of her other systems as well free of charge. When they were finished with her I was given a checklist of everything they had checked out from bumper to bumper most of which was in great shape including letting me know that she had new brakes installed shortly before I bought her which was great to know. There were only 3 things, none of which were critical, that the list indicated would need attention in the near future. Harlan Automotive cares very much about helping me maintain my Katie so she will last longer. I have had follow-up e-mails from them to be sure I was happy. They have also given me the website address where I can see the history of Katies care with them. That is just like having medical records for your family member. It is a very family oriented business, and they treat their customers and vehicles like extended family. Im thrilled to have them as a skilled and reliable resource for Katies continued care.

Exceeded my expectiations I purchased a 2001 F350 Diesel recently and it needed a few things done on it. I sent a punch list of several items such as door locks not working, power outlet not working, brake noise, Instrument panel not working and others. I loved how they took my list and checked the truck over for other things which is exactly what I wanted. They found and fixed a rear end axle leak I wasnt aware of as well. Funny thing after I had it back for a few days I heard the belt chirping so I called and before I could ask them about it they said, oh hey we just got your belt and tension-er in today, when can we get that on there for you. Nice! Not only did I get a lot of things fixed, but now I have someone who "knows" my vehicle and they recorded the information in there system. So now I can go back and keep it maintained without having to remember everything that has or needs to be done. Class Act. you might think because Im related that this would be a biased review, however, some folks would never let Family work on their vehicles. I run a business and we drive all our vehicles the 50 Miles to Harlan Automotive and thats not just because hes my brother. The employees there and the work they do say more than any reviews ever do. Looking for a repair shop you can trust, this is your place. They love cars almost as much as the love people.

Make it short, brought a driveshaft to them and ask for a repair, they told me they dont repair drive shafts and I should take it to a custom drive shaft, so I told them this boring story of my last visit with wiles driveshaft repair shop, so long story short 399 for center ball replacement bla bla, they ask if I can bring it in so they can look, went home brought it back, anyways " they said they dont rebuild driveshaft" they took it apart and called me and told me that they will tackle this job for me, big big thanks to them, because that drive shaft is a pain in the ............, got it back they did a lovely job of repairing it I am one happy customer right now, that and they saved me big time in my wallet super cheap, I would rate them a 6 star if it was a option, big thanks to the team that helped, because that driveshaft is not fun to work on, Thank you all,

They were helpful and honest. They explained just what they were going to do.....no surprises. They offered me a cost free loaner vehical, which was a big one for me. They even took the time to explain the car to me. It was a Pruis. One of the best things was that I recieved a Auti Insight Multipoint Inspection Report that listed what was good on my car, what was starting to go and what needed work very soon. As a person who is going to be unable to ever buy a new car again, this was extremely helpful. The staff took the time to listen and did not take advantage of me like I have had other repair shops do in the past. Now people told me that they were a bit more expensive, to me so many things were right about this automotive service company that it was so worth it. Plus, I got warrenties on the work......awesome company to do business with.
